    Good call on the manual, ordered one of those! For the key fob, I found my model and see I can order that. For the actual key, do I need to get that from a dealer or locksmith?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  7 месяцев назад +6

      That's where the cost comes in. Part of the reason why getting a replacement key costs so much from a dealer is because they have to send it off to get the key laser cut.
      From what I understand, you cannot order key blanks directly from Ford unless you are a licensed locksmith. But of course you can find them (as well as aftermarket ripoffs) online and have a locksmith cut them: Ford Part No. 164-R8168-a quick Google search should find them. One of the locksmiths local to me as those keys in-stock ready to go, so I typically buy from him.
      Obviously you don't need the physical key in order operate the Bronco, runs just fine with just the key fob. So you can save some cash and only get a key cut for it if/when it becomes necessary.

      So i looked up all those part numbers A- clearly states badlands. All the rest are the same except they all operate on different frequencies. So before i go to the dealer to find out which one is for my bronco. Im going to check the programming instructions in the manual that is out of stock. Assuming incan figure that out i dont think the dealer will be helpful becuse he is gonna want to program it. I checked the original key fob and there is no info on it to be helpful. If any one has some tips , please let me know . Thanks

      No idea why mine says Badlands too (I have a Black Diamond). But, it was verified via VIN.
      Good call on getting a backup one of these and the programming procedures. Better safe than sorry.

      @@marbledmeatshopI've gotten a key blade (not the fob) made at an Ace hardware for my 2019 fusion hybrid and 2018 fusion.
      They said they could do the fob also but I just wanted a spare key (hide a key) to get in the vehicle if I locked my keys in there.
      Yes it can happen. Lock keys in w/ key pad, come back later to a completely dead battery (don't know how), key pad doesn't work and keys are in vehicle. Hide a key to the rescue

    I’ve purchased aftermarket key fobs for other vehicles and wasn’t impressed as they failed. Don’t get me wrong, programming a 3rd or 4th fob is a good idea, but get OEM based on my experience. I don’t like the bulky door bags, it’s not my preference; use your vehicle however you like but consider not putting heavy items that the factory door nets weren’t designed for and they will last longer. ✌🏼The hard copy manual is a good idea and my favorite suggestion you made. 👍🏼

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  7 месяцев назад +2

      100% agree about the aftermarket keyfobs.
      There are aftermarket keyfobs for Ford vehicles for $20-$25 bucks, which I know can be tempting, but they aren't worth it at all. Best to just get the official OEM Ford part for ~$45 or so.

  • @anthonygallo3576

    Great video, i had to pause it to order thr owners manual. ,and yep ,for $45 bucks if incan figure out what fob i need im gonna get one. I already had the bartac bags( nothing but the best). And i already have ,mabbot mud flaps. So i call ford to find out were my 42,000 points are as ford pass shows inhave zero. It turns out the dealer swiped them and put it toward my service contract that he gave me a great deal on !!!!!.I have never in my life gotten so much info out if ine video. Keep it up

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  7 месяцев назад

      It's just the standard manual portfolio case that Ford has. I got mine from my dealer as they had a bunch in a box from back when Ford actually did include printed manuals in their vehicle, but it can also be ordered from Helm.

    • @TexaSteven
      @TexaSteven 7 месяцев назад +1

      That was my mod as well including the front windshield, I thought the ceramic tint was hype but man this past summer here in Texas it really helps especially with my leather seats.

      @Crumb_Trails 7 месяцев назад

      @wanderingtexan5432 How do you like the windshield treatment? Is it the clear protector or did you actually tint? I'm originally from the desert in SoCal and old habits don't typically die. Now I travel the country for work but still want to do everything to keep the heat out.

    • @TexaSteven
      @TexaSteven 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Crumb_Trails it was a clear ceramic tint, I can’t even notice it.. only up keep is to make you use a window cleaner without ammonia, apparently it would degrade it a lot faster over time.

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  7 месяцев назад +1

      The key fob part number itself will vary based on your exact configuration, so I cannot provide the exact link. But I can explain how to find the one for your Bronco.
      Easiest way:
      1. Go to parts.ford.com
      2. Type in your VIN
      3. In the parts search bar type "15K601". The key fob for your specific Bronco should pop right up.

      Ordering the fob, but can’t find the blank. I have to order that separate correct and then have it cut?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  7 месяцев назад

      @@MGIOadventures From what I've been told, Ford only sells physical blanks to licensed locksmiths. BUT, of course they (as well as aftermarket versions) are readily available elsewhere online. Ford Part No. 164-R8168. A quick search and you should be able to find them.
      My local locksmith carries them in stock, and since I have no means to cut those laser side-cut keys... I usually just buy the blank from him and have him cut it.

    • @MGIOadventures
      @MGIOadventures 7 месяцев назад

      @@RagnarKon I would actually be fine without it being cut. I just want the part so the key fob is complete. I just didn’t know if I could just buy the blank that fits this fob.

      Was going to take it off during Thanksgiving holiday, but the Bronco was at the dealership during the holiday with a busted stabilizer bar.
      Plan was always to remove it for ski season, but we've had a _very_ slow start to ski season up in New England. Most resorts are still closed. So it may stay on for another month or so until the snow really hits.
