Great video, very clear. Here are my tips after watching, reading the comments and some websites. First measure your current battery. The length is important, check these standard length sizes, so you're sure you measured it correct: 207, 242, 278, 315 and 353mm. (Height and width are always the same I understood). Check vendor websites what battery they advise based on your license plate (they then know your car model, but that is not always correct!). I got smaller size offers than my current battery, what probably would fit but I was not sure. So, for my Aygo (2009) I chose the Bosch S4 002. Perfect fit and almost the same voltage etc as my dead battery. With proper tools easy to install. Good luck!

Hi i fitted a higher powered one to my daughters 107 ,i think it was a varta .with that model it had transit bungs to stop the acid leakage , which have to be removed before use, if not it cant breathe and gasses will build up and can even bulge the box out.sometimes they are small and easily overlooked,....great video as always

I also wanted to add that if you check the battery holder plate, you will see there are 3 marks. One for petrol, the other 2 for diesel. So you could actually fit even bigger battery than the Bosch 063 S4 001.
My Aygo 2012 has the battery box size of LxWxH = 242x175x190 mm
Looking up for Bosch battery, you could max out with Bosch S5 005: 63Ah 610 CCA
Could you please check your car and update this to the description so that people could find it out easily ?

@@aaanton11 I think it won't touch the bonnet as the OEM battery 202 is 190mm height already. So It should be fine?
Thanks for the video, it was a great help changing out the battery in our Peugeot 108, the battery position and tray size etc seem exactly the same. Particularly grateful for the advice to be careful with the bolt, mine was corroded and if I hadn’t watched that, I would have probably sheared it off!!

Upgraded mine to a Bosch S4 004. Looks pretty big (075 size) but think you can fit an even bigger on in. Lot of bang for the buck.

NEVER put both the terminals on at the same time! Put the positive on, tighten it, and THEN put the negative on!

Took that battery bolt out and lubed it did the bolts by the hand brake lever in case it needs adjusting as well

thanks for video. im looking at bosch link on amazon but when I type my car reg its saying not compatable. its a peugoet 107 2010 1ltr petrol. Will it still fit?
purchased 063 bosch battery and fitted it in less than 10 minutes. amazon said it was not suitable for my wife's 107 2010 petrol but works fine as shown on video.

Excellent stuff. Thought you weren't going to warn about shorting the +ve to earth, but you did : ) I'm paranoid about that when I touch the battery, and I keep the earth lead off the negative till I've done up the positive, but I guess that's unnecessary if you're not clumsy like I am : /

Is bosch s4 002 ok for the 107? The dimensions seem taller than the others you mentioned and not sure if it will be too tall and touch the bonnet?

WD-40 is a great product but I prefer the rust busting properties of the wurth rostoff it has been able to shift rusty bolts that WD-40 failed on Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Great video.👍 I have been looking for a good replacement battery for my 2012 C1. Just out of interest, what amp hour was the original battery? I am wanting to upgrade to run my CB radio and linear amplifier (burner) in the car. When transmitting it will be drawing 10-12 amps. Would the Bosch battery for the C1 diesel fit, as that is rated at 52 amp hour?

On my Citroen c1, there is some ( valve ) knocking sound when the engine is ( really ) cold ( it goes away when the engine is warmed up ) and i found some oil leakage between the joint of the long exhaust pipe and the rear muffler. Could that indicate a leak valve seal?
It is unlikely to be oil from the exhaust, more probable is just carbon fumes mixed with condensation, so it looks like oil, they can be quite noisy top end when cold, but if the noise goes away when warm I wouldn't worry, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

you force your alternator with the bigger batery , there is a reason original batery is smaller
You are taking it to the extreme, these alternators can cope with mush more than they are being used on these cars the same unit is used on Yaris models with far bigger batteries, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 I'm sure you're right, they are all just 12V. They're just saving weight by putting a smaller battery in, the tray is clearly designed to take a bigger battery!
Once again thanks for these videos. Second time I've done a fix based on them and recently replaced my old battery with the Bosch which cost me only £52. Noticed the difference and hadn't realised the power improves and way it drives. The Wurst Rostoff I got last time came in handy again :) Annoyingly on the same day, I've slightly managed to get a few scuff marks on my front bumper at the very bottom section which now needs sorting out. Have you done anything on repairing this kind of thing for the 107? Oh and I think I need to do the wet boot issue next.

@@aaanton11 Ok thanks for letting me know. I'd just seen the vid on your rear collision which I'd not noticed until today and you mentioned about doing some work on that so wondered.
Turned out my Bosh replacement battery recently died after just 8 months or so. Thought it was a dodgy starter issue and I even had that replaced only for my car to stop starting up two days after. A battery test confirmed it was coming up as failing and needing to be replaced.

Never take the possitve off first ? Negative first then positive. . and never replace a battery thats not standard it will mess up the ecu after fitted turn ignition on but Don't start wait 2 minutes for the ECU to settle.

Turn engine off wait 2 mins remove neg terminal first then positive put new battery in positive first then negative turn ignition on Do not crank over wait 2 mins. Then start car. Job done

@@aaanton11 the battery discharged since I removed and charged the battery for a day at home, when I put it back the car did not start since I switched to a new battery did not work either

My battery is a bit weak now and I also plan to remove and charge it, but I fear that I might end up with the same problem as you.

Every time i have the bonnet up or underneath the car, i always have a can of wd40 next to me. I just squirt everything that has a nut face. Its so cheap it does not matter
