      I'm definitely straight and my parents were tradional but I myself couldn't care less if my kid would be straight, gay or anything in between or beyond. I know gay couples who raise their children with so much love and are amazing parents. Their kids are very happy and amazing too. ❤😊
      Then again I live in a society that's accepting of that. I do agree however that probably for the first two generations it might be hard and rough having to push through, living in a conservative society but once that society becomes more accepting you'll see that these kids can live a happy and normal life. Good luck all. You can do it!! 🤗😙

    The saddest thing is that the main reason they didn't want to adopt kids was because they were afraid it would be bullied. :/

    • @Yoarashi
      @Yoarashi 7 лет назад +236

      Right? Heartbreaking. What really gets to me is that are about a thousand other reasons a kid could be bullied for, but they are never discussed the same way. Generally BEING adopted will suffice as a "reason" for a bully, but when it comes to straight people adopting, bullying is not a factor that is discussed; we all know very well that bullies will always think of an excuse when they need one. But when it comes to the LGBT community, our lives are dictated by bullies in every respect.

    • @KaleidoscopeEffect
      @KaleidoscopeEffect 6 лет назад +36

      Yeah and it's a dumb reason not to have kids. If only one gay couple adopts of course it'd be seen as odd... But if there's more than one kid in a class whose parents are gay then I'd be seen as normal... That wait and see mentality Japanese people have it's actually detrimental to them. If you want things to change you have to do something about it!

      Some people think this is one of the faults of being homosexual rather than the fault of society for condemning such relationships in the first place. If people were more accepting then the child wouldn't be bullied in the first place but because they're not accepting the children aren't either.

      Our local Methodist church leadership has taken the stance that non straight worshipers are welcome. One of our youth minister made a speech saying such I think to avoid having teenagers commit suicide when the community was still not open. The national church may still ban hiring openly gay people in paid positions but they can volunteer though. It kind of sucks though because it means members ended up doing important professional time consuming volunteer jobs without compensation. When one of a ministers stood up and told us that his brother was gay and he had been in a partnership for 30 and that it had lasted longer than some straight relationship I think we had some people leave the church but that was probably about 7 years ago.

      Ive shot interviews like this. There comes a point where you feel yourself drifting, and you feel like the frame isn't perfect, like you're showing too much dead space on the left or right. Sometimes you get distracted by the background and want to make sure that the context of the background makes sense. I can see that he almost panned off of the kids but then realized the frame wouldn't look quite right with the kids just sort of peaking into the frame. This is why I prefer a tripod.

    I really surprised at the first time that japanese people are so positive about LGBT society. Because I heard that women's right is not that high in Japan. Compare to japan, women's right is more higher than LGBT rights in korea.(I'm korean.) And I feel envy and sadness. Because Korea has soooo low LGBT rights. I recently even heard that korean high school teacher outing her students(two of them) in front of hole class and girls are suicide together. It was so sad to read that news and I cried. Korea still thinks LGBT culture is kind of 'underground things'. People don't tends to talk about this kind of issues. I''m not part of LGBT but feel really sorry that they don't have this kind of open society. Because I have friends which is gay or trans and I know they are not 'few' or 'rare' people that define as 'weird'. So I truly want korea to be more positive and open to them. Younger generation in korea(like me) is more open to them(compare to older people). So I hope this could change the future.💕

      Confucian idea didn't influence medieval Japan that much compared to Korea, China, or Vietnam. It was actually norm or at least deemed some kind of refined taste among the upper class.
      There is a travel essay written by a Korean who visited Edo Japan, and The writer was really shocked to see homosexual activity is so much prevalent in the country.
      Even in dynastic China homosexuality wasn't something evil as it was in medieval Christian or Muslim society. They had their own erotic literature and drama about homosexuality. And You can't overlook the fact that there are so much records about homosexual relationship between some Emperors and their partners. In Ming and Qing era, sex between men was even a trend, although it was normally in the form of pederastic prostitution.

    Japan actually had very liberal attitudes towards homosexuality prior to the Meiji Restoration. During the Meiji Restoration, Emperor Meiji adopted a Victorian sense of morality by cracking down on homosexuality, shared baths, uncensored pornography, etc. to avoid being labeled as "uncivilized perverts" by the Puritan West and being labeled as a potential target for colonization.
    Victorian values have been so deeply engrained into Japanese culture that many aren't even aware of this anymore and blindly follow it. Right-wing, nationalist politicians who claim to be defending Japanese culture are actually inadvertently doing the opposite by defending such Victorian values.

    • @bunderbah
      @bunderbah 5 лет назад +4

      @@szilveszterforgo8776 This is a very complicated thing to analyze. Neo-Marxists are ruining the western countries and majority of LGBT community is part of it. I don't think LGBT is necessarily the problem though.
      It is the ethos of western civilization that allowed this religion like belief system called the Neo-Marxism to come about. Our ethos was always very liberal, that is to say there wasn't much 'pressure'(for lack of a better word) from the society to go with the norm. As a result people had more freedom to build their own values(when they lost faith) which it turns out people are very bad at it. Hence, we get these lunatics like Antifa.
      Japanese ethos is very different. The society have more share in building a person's values. Considering the value system of Japan existed for hundreds of years(if not thousands) and that Japan is one of the best countries in the world we can say that it is more likely to be better than a value system that a person can create by themselves. Therefore, people in Japan are less likely to fall into moral relativism. The observation supports this thesis as they are doing much better in *social* issues than the west. Because of that I think and hope that LGBT won't ruin Japan. This video too supports my view, as people are at least acknowledging and appreciating that things are getting better in Japan. We don't see that from Neo-Marxists in the West. They can't even acknowledge or appreciate that capitalism, while not being perfect, is producing brilliant results.

Many of people who are in the part of the LGBT Community are hiding themselves because they're scared to get their parents disowned them, to lost their job, or even getting bullied. All I can say, Indonesia are the worst when it comes for LGBT Issue. You guys please please please support us, the LGBT Community to expose all the homophobic acts in Indonesia!

      It's still really hard to accepting LGBT in Indonesia, when even the government still thinking that LGBT is not normal and is not a part of human rights..
      Is kinda sad and devastated to see how many homophobic in Indonesia. I'm consider my self as hetero and indonesian. But I accept LGBT..
      I think to make indonesian people more accept and open with LGBT. We should take non-direct and with multi approaching way . You know...
      When people phobia about something it will never be good way to give them the "object" of their fear in front of them.. The instinct will tell them to kick them away, or running from it... So i guess... We can't do that...
      I think, to make them change their mind..should be started from younger generation..
      And the system of education should teach them about emphaty, respect others, talk about human rights..and should give these kids critical thinking skill.. Now a day, our kids growth as smart kids with lack attitude..
      But you know, i know some of my friends who accept LGBT as well.. So there is a hope ;)

      Abdel, what you're describing is a fictive situation, not reality. How has LGBT been proved to destroy humanity? In no way. The world is overpopulated and continues to be so. Abandoned children live without parents, and you homophobes keep keeping those children without parents, when there would be countless of LGBT couples who could provide a happy, loving family, but your ignorant, hateful views are more important to you than lives of children.
      I think the last thing you should apologize is your english. First and foremost, it would be your hatred and ignorence. Your religion is not everyone's. Your God doesn't exist for everyone. Who should have the right to happily exist should not be up to YOUR beliefs.
      (Also, you're funny if you think gay people can't make children anymore, because they're gay. Their bodies very well still function the same way straight people's. But even if that was the case, we could do the same cruel thing to straight couples that just cannot have children. Or who don't want children. Repent them too because they can't reproduce, wouldn't that only be fair? Cruel, hateful, unnecessary and inhumane, but fair! ;) )
      Repent people like you.

If you can't force your opinion, then why do gay people keep telling other people "oh it's fine to be gay" as they subtlety push them towards the LGBT line? If the gay people would stop saying "oh it's fine" and actually listen to a person if they aren't sure if they're gay then we're fine.

    I think the main problem is, the lack of knowledge about the LGBT people...
    Society thinks they are doing something wrong. As an example, I Talked about LGBT community with my younger sisters. For my surprise, they were more open than I thought. Anyway, they didn't know much about the LGBT community. I told them how they suffer and what happens to them if the society doesn't accept them. and they started to understand and became more supportive of LGBT. the same thing happened with my cousin sister. She was not accepting of them and took trans people as a joke, and I explained all the sufferings and what their life is like, and she started to feel sorry about them and she became a supporter. And I did the same thing for a friend who didn't accept the LGBT community. He started to become more open and accepting of them. All of these people are good Catholics, so I started with what our religion is really about.
    When you want to tell someone that you're a member of LGBT community or you're a supporter of them or if you want to change their views about them, first make a good impression about yourself in front of them. Then start with a decent topic with a calm tone, and start talking about how people suffer and suicide because of different things. Then you can slowly start talking about how society's negative opinions about LGBT affect them.
    Don't ask me whether I'm gay, I'm 24 and I still don't know my sexual orientation xD

    It was interesting to watch, but I was curious if lesbian experience is different from male gays and what they think and you have not interviewed them~

    That guy in the white shirt had such a nice voice and was really eloquent while talking. It’d be nice to hear his voice like on the TV or on the radio.

    It's really sad to hear that to be LGBT in Japan is that hard you can't even get a promotion... I wish the situation keeps improving. Strength to keep fighting for our rights in every country!

      Can't say I'm massive into daddies (I found a lot of older gay men where I'm from tend to be far less affectionate, regardless of how much they love their partners)...
      But I got to admit, that guy is damn handsome. Sharp dresser too, so that might be it because I have a weakness for that.

    So generally ppl say they are not discriminating but accepting but in truth most ppl try to act as if homosexuality did not exist in their surroundings and is something extremely rare and strange.

    Their words are full of wisdom which we can't deny came from their experiences and observations. These are quite painful to hear but sadly the reality...and currently the LGBTQ are experiencing up until now.

    I'm so happy that Japan is slowly getting more accepting of us lgbtq+ and that it's getting better. Although when will it be allow for gay people to marry in Japan? It really feels like they should be allowed to, due to how lgbtq+ friendly they've become.

    In Melbourne we have a sex Ed class, and they told us all about the different sexual orientations, and a lgbtq activist from America ( I forgot her name ) came to our school to explain what it's like to be young and confused. I couldn't personally relate but it was interesting and I respect people in the community. Australia is lgbt friendly! So we welcome you!

    This was amazingly insightful! I love their perspectives on these topics like how that guy said why women are more receptive for coming out, that was right on point. I was more intrigued tbh in the LGBT's perspective than the straight perspective basically because they don't know shit lol. Thank you sm for this!

    I really wish america would also start teaching its students about LGBT+ people, even if it JUST starts out with them teaching students about same sex couples, I feel like it would be a remarkable improvement. Also I would like to say that we are definitely progressing fast, we have gay characters in cartoons, people no longer say "thats gay" as an insult, and we've legalized gay marriage, so we're definitely heading in the right direction!

    From my own personal experience, I think the LGBT community of Japan needs to be accepting of gays from all around the world. When I was in Japan last year it was hard enough being a foreigner, but even more difficult to talk to gay locals. Acceptance should be for EVERYONE
