I rode in the dirt for almost 2 decades, but haven't had a dirt bike for about 7 years, only street bikes. Now, my son wanted to start riding in the dirt. About 3 weeks ago, I went to the local dealership to look at a Kawasaki for him. I ended up walking out with 2 Kayos. One for him and a KT250 for me. Got them both for less than 1 KTM... and they're both fantastic. Very happy with them.
That's awesome... I've seen and heard many great things on the KT250. In the next year or two I bet they adapt some needed changes and the bike will be even better.
@@E3EJvilla00 Yeah, some guys are getting it thinking it's a 2 stroke motocross bike...it's certainly not. If you're familiar with a Kawasaki KDX220, that's exactly what it's like, only with modern handling. I like it for the trails so it's good, but guys are hoping for a midrange pipe to make it hit harder in the meat of the power instead of way up top like it does now.
@@thevoxofreason8468 KDX220 are legendary woods bikes! If this is a modern day replace,ent with better handling for under 5k they will sell bucket loads.
@@mikedeon1167 I agree if enough older riders, like myself, who grew up riding 2 stroke enduros like the KDX or even the RMX take a shot with this machine. As a side note, the engine is an exact copy of a Yamaha mill. It was used in the WR200 (de-stroked version of the KT engine), a bike that was to compete directly with the KDX. Unfortunately, the WR200 was only sold in the US for one year, so it never had a chance to catch on. Anyway, the KT is a great machine for anyone who wants a new, affordable 2 stroke offroad bike.
Best looking Chinese dirt bikes I've seen yet. Got to sit on one of these today at the Polaris dealer when I went to buy some oil for my current bike, a DR650, and saw that K4 sitting there. The dealer said it's a Chinese bike, but pretty good. Man I really liked it! I think I'll sell my little DRZ125L and get one of these. They sure do look good!
I got a kayo k2 230, I do alot of slower technical stuff some great upgrades I found gearing I went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket 13t stock to a 12t, went up a size in main and pilot adjusted the air fule screw about 2 3/4 turn out of ohio. It runs great I'm happy with it. I hate how some guys will put these bikes up against a ktm 450 2 stroke and say it's slow lol well yeah come on. All in all kayo makes a great bike at a great price reliable and fun as hell
Another Pa resident here and I just bought a K2 230 as my first dirt bike and it’s the perfect beginner bike! Like you mentioned the suspension is the biggest issue as it’s set up for riders 150lbs or under and even being at 166lns I bottom out the rear on small jumps so definitely need to upgrade the rear shock…lol. Been to AOAA quite a bit with my SxS’s and am looking forward to getting my Kayo up there as well as out to Rock Run and Mountain Ridge to ride their single track trails.
Highly recommend. After 10 hours on the engine, the fuel mapping and timing curve changes in the ECM and the power jumps quite a bit. They are set mild at the factory for importation (emissions), then after the clock reaches 10 hours, magic happens. (BIG Smile) @@James-yc5qe

Hey I seen your question, so I actually been doing a lot of research on kayo, finally picked up a 125tt for my daughter and a 140 Strom for my son. Pretty much since 2002 kayo has been China made big in euro market and has recently come out way to the USA. My purchase and quality have been excellent so far. Definitely lock tight all bolts aside from that clutch and carbs no issues. Kids love it!!! Win for the price and win for such quality on such little price.
You mentioned a list of parts that would work on the K4 and the k6, do you have that list? Or know where I could find one? We own three kale dirt bikes and love them my youngest has the K2 my oldest has the K4 and I ride the k6 EFI
They are a nice looking bikes actually been looking at the same one thinking about it also looking at the Kawasaki kxl 230 but that's about 1500 more not sure yet, I subscribed your channel I'll be following you seeing how it works out
It’s decent but it is what it is. If your expecting a full on race bike this isn’t it. If you want something to get around on and ride with the kids. This is a decent bike. This model is not fuel injected.
Almost every other Chinese motorcycle manufacturer makes a better Enduro than this one. The kayo kt is a 2 stroke which is unique but other than that to me it looks like kayo is overpriced
4100$ for a Xpro Templar 250. Aka a 1700$ chinese dualsport. All cuz its a Kayo. What a joke. If ur gonna spend 4k on a Chinese dualsport u get a GPX. Then ur atleast getting the SZC suspension n Brembo subsidiary brakes. Way more bike for the 4k. Kayo is just expensive chinese ktm clones. Aka Amazon bikes. Trailmaster T5 the same bike as this but comes with the rear luggage rack.

How would you say it's handling up? Any issues or repairs you have had to make?

Look at SSR250 and 450 they look exactly identical to a CRF250/450X

It’s decent but it is what it is. If your expecting a full on race bike this isn’t it. If you want something to get around on and ride with the kids. This is a decent bike. This model is not fuel injected.

Nope never modded the bike - just rode it when I had it. Recently moved on and sold it.
