What I felt during that monologue was, Jokoy was like a gate crasher, these celebrities think in their minds "who are you??? " what do you know about me? " - it was quite awkward for someone you joke about and you don't know each other.. it was a natural reaction from Taylor swift and all the others. You can just joke about me if we know each other. That was awkward.. 😢
I saw Jo live. He focused mostly on crowd work. It didn’t land at all. This felt similar. The way he delivered it felt like he was pulling his punch because he had nothing else but had to say something. The laugh half way through felt like a primer hoping to get a laugh.

Jo Koy was funny at the GGlobes. The crowd was stiff as usual and THEY are to blame. Performers need to perform, it’s a show and the actors didn’t get the memo. Dude, Jo's only fault really was that he wasn't an A-Lister. I watched the full monologue, you can tell right away the A-List celebs don't like him EVEN BEFORE he opened his mouth. They like "who the F is guy making a joke at my expense?". And they were making sure they project it to the cameras that they don't like him.

I personally didn't find it funny... Some of you apparently do...and that's ok. It's meaningless to compare this to Ricky's rant though. Ricky is a beast who can take on the audience like that and still get a praise from at least half of the room, and most of the world. Jo is not. And that's it. He's trying to poke the bear and still come out as friendly and mild, and it falls flat, because you can't handle that crowd like that... Ricky went all guns blazing, with no regard for his personal safety and he did it with confidence and panache. He's untouchable because he doesn't care.
In conclusion; is this comedy - yes. Is this excellent comedy? Well, since the opinions are mostly divided, it's safe to say that - no, it isn't. Definitely not in Burr, Gervais, Shultz etc. league...
