@HIMOTHY You are correct, you did not mention David and Samuel. I saw it under another mention. You are also correct that Samuel's ultimate issue was idolatry, however the open door (which there is one to every sin) is lust/love. People will say anything to try to justify their sins and live an unGodly lifestyle. No Mr Newton. Nowhere in the Bible did God condone polygamy. God made Adam and Eve not Adam Eve Sally and Patrica. If He did condone polygamy, He would have made other women besides just Eve but He didn’t. Also, the Bible says in Deuteronomy 17:17 instructs kings not to multiply wives. King Solomon broke this commandment from God and what you missed is that he paid the terrible consequences for doing so in 1 Kings 11 why? Because sin has consequences and King Solomon was not excluded from that. Also, these prophets did not find favor for having multiple wives they found favor because of their faith in God (Romans 4) The Bible is not a book of polygamy it’s a book about how we are all need to Repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Its all about Jesus and those who reject Him will be judged (Revelation 20:15)
Actually, God DID confone polygyny in many places throughout Scripture. However many wives God decided to give to Adam, is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to the rest of us! There is an awful lot of middle ground between what Solomon did, and what men like Ziona Chana did. Regardless of why they found favor with God, they were still able to find favor with God WHILE HAVING MORE THAN ONE WIFE! As a man who has in fact received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I am hopeful that God will bring me a second wife. Many men who had more than one wife, will be in heaven.
No God did NOT condone ANYWHERE in Scripture and if you believe that then you are deceiving yourself. God is very clear in His Word and He does not change. He said cleave to your WIFE NOT "wives" (Genesis 2:24) King Solomon's ending was not a good one. Read 1 Kings 11 it will tell you all about it. Also, if you have really received Jesus as your Savior then the Holy Spirit would convict you about having more than one wife because that's NOT what God said. You need to Repent
@@ivorysmith239 Not only did God condone having more than one wife (e.g. Gen 20:6, Num 12:8), but He portrayed Himself as a husband of two wives! I never claimed that God changed. In fact it is the monogamy only crowd that are the ones saying that God changed. Their fake god can't make up his mind about whether polygamy is sinful or not! How is God saying "cleave to his wife", a prohibiton against having more than one? Why should we care about Solomon's ending, when no one is trying to defend the excess number of wives that he had? I Kings also tells us that Solomon's wives were from nations that God forbid the Israelites to marry, yet you conveniently ignored that fact! The Holy Spirit would only convict a man about having more than one wife, if that were sinful, but your proof text does not come anywhere close to proving this. What is it that you think I need to repent of? I'll wait for your answers. This should be interesting.
If anyone is making up a fake God it's those that support polygamy. God never meant for no-one to have more than one wife. Just because that happened in the Old Testament mind you that was only FEW but MOST prophets in the Old Testament had ONE WIFE because that's what God intended. The NEW Testament that we are under, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:2: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Now if God condone polygamy it would have said wives but here in the NEW Testament it says WIFE. King Solomon having multiple wives scholars say was a CULTURAL thing but that doesn't mean God condoned it because of what He said in Genesis 2:24. God does not contradict Himself.
Secondly the Bible is not specific there are certain things that r specific like baptism but most r stories from the past that r constantly taken out of context
It was never meant for men to have all those wives, listen just because God allows something doesn't mean he approves it!! We have free will !! Those men did that out of rebellion!!!! @@Hesimms I got under your skin as evidenced by your SHOUTING IN ALL CAPS. There is no use in denying this. Just admit guilt. You are employing unsupported assertions and Ad Hominem attacks, which are both Logical Fallacies. Let's just stick to the facts. Jesus said that Moses permitted divorce because of the hardness of men's hearts, but He NEVER said this about multiplying wives. Now Moses did say that the King of Israel should not multiply wives, and Solomon clearly violated that warning, and his heart was turned away from following the Lord as a result, but there is a difference between multiplying wives, and having 3 or 4 wives. So Moses permitted multiplying wives, but not because of the hardness of hearts, but because they were not the king of Israel. Only the king was forbidden this multiplying of wives, and we see the consequences that Moses warned about. God approved of Abimelech taking a second wife; just not Abraham's wife. Read Genesis 20, and you will see that He said that Abimelech did this in the integrity of his heart!
You can’t ignore the consequences of having multiple wives David caused death and became a murderer .. and there are many more examples of destruction and death b:c of polygamy. Crossing over to the New Testament was to cleanse of the sins of the Old Testament.
@@sarahgoss2655 That was not caused by his polygyny! It was caused by his adultery. Read II Samuel 12:10. No there are not many examples of destruction and death caused by polygyny. That is an outright lie! Many men had more than one wife, and did not take anotehr man's wife or have him killed! King Abimelech returned Sarah to Abraham after he discovered that she was his wife, and God told him that he did what he did, in the integrity of his heart, in spite of the fact that he already had a wife.
What Cam and many modern men are forgetting is that there were more wars back in those days... More wars and more widows... There were literally 11 woman for each man... The only choice a woman had was marrying a man who already had 3 or more wives. She couldn't work, she couldn't go to school: She was nothing - #NOTHING - without a husband... Those days are gone... Women do not need men the way they did THEN. So, using the Bible to support Polygamy is ungodly. It was a, "It was OK then but not now", thing.
Wow! This practice this is driven by appetite and the flesh hands down. Marriage is based on a prestablished divine principle that the Church is THE Bride (NOT THE BRIDES) of Christ. BOOM! Good conversation tho.
The lady said @ 6mins into the video... "It is the Men's responsible to carry the weight of the relation"! Absolute NOT! These days, the majority of women have similar beliefs, which has caused marriages to fail. Placing an unnecessary burden on men. Proverbs 18:22 - He who finds a wife finds what is good.... Mark 10:7-9 - and the two shall become one flesh.... First of all, the wife has traits that strengthen, advance, and propel the partnership. Secondly, Not 1.5 and 0.5 shall become 1 flesh. A 1 whole of you both (both understanding the meaning of marriage, Both gat Wisdom, Humilty, Kindnes and faithful) shall come together and fulfill the purpose of marriage. Both will play their part and no one in the marriage will say their part is more or better. They both know who they are in Christ. So, the responsibility is on both parties equally!
As a man, you are wired by God the Father to be a conqueror, prociser, protector and priest in the household. So then, a man WILL by nature want multiple women that NEVER GOES AWAY. Your ONLY recourse as a man is to have the Holy Ghost. Monogamy is a choice you make as a man with the help of the Comforter(Holy Ghost). You are not blind as a man with the Holy Ghost. You just make a choice to crucify your flesh and make covenant with God, your wife and yourself. Otherwise, YOU WILL FALL TO TEMPTATION...
Asking for a friend Which book is the correct one. Which religion is the correct one? Who’s currently winning with the most people in heaven or hell battle? Why is one book correct and the other one incorrect? Or is religion a way to cope with life’s mysterious hardship? Again asking for a friend
It's not just about coping with life's nysterious hardships. It's about sin, and how it entered the world, and who is able to save us from our sins, in order that we might be in a right relationship with our Creator. If you want to know which book is correct, you have to determine which book was given to man by God Himself. The only way to know that, is to measure accuracy in fulfilled prophecy, because only God can accurately reveal the future. Examine the liklihood of the prophecies that were foretold, and whether those prophecies did in fact come to pass. You will find your answer there.
There is no LAW within the covenant that God made with his chosen people that says “love your wives as Christ loves the church” this was a letter to the Ephesians from Paul, these are not God’s words. But let’s just say this was a commandment, that passage of scripture had NOTHING to do with “Jesus” dying lol if you continue to read IN context the verses that follow, it simply means TREAT HER WELL. Verse 28 tells you specifically husbands should love their wives as their own bodies, 29 continues in saying that no one hates their own body but they nourish and cherish it. And let’s just say hypothetically that it was about “Jesus” dying, when you say “he died for the church” that means he would have died for multiple people
Can't have it both ways ladies... If you want to oversimplify the scripture to focus only on the fact that Christ died for the church as your argument to refute polygamy then you have to consider that there are in fact several churches mentioned by Paul (who wrote this particular instruction specifically to the members of the Church in Ephesus) in the Bible. Question: Which one of those Churches did Christ die for? ANSWER: ALL OF THEM!
1. Polygamy is "permissible" in Old Testament Judaism (Exodus 21:10; Deuteronomy 21:15). The twelve sons of Jacob (Israel) are from his four wives. Jacob (Israel) & Leah - Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah (Genesis 29:31-35), Issachar, & Zebulun (Genesis 30:14-20). Jacob (Israel) & Bilhah - Dan, & Naphtali - (Genesis 30:1-8). Jacob (Israel) & Zilpah - Gad, & Asher (Genesis 30:11-13). Jacob (Israel) & Rachel - Joseph (Genesis 30:22-24), & Benjamin (Genesis 35:16-18). 2. Monogamy is in Christianity - 1 Timothy 3:2,12; Titus 1:6. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
@HIMOTHY I disagree, because the Lord Jesus Christ spoke about a man and his wife (singular) in Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; when He quoted from Genesis 2. This is Christianity, that does not allow for polygamy (as Judaism does). Sadly, many are simply confused. Shalom uv'racha (Peace and Blessing).

There are two covenants (Galatians 4:21-26; Hebrews 7-8). I don't mix the Old Covenant w/ the New Covenant, simply because Matthew 5:43 is not Matthew 5:44. Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor [Leviticus 19:18] and hate your enemy [Deuteronomy 23:6].’ 44 But I say to you [Hebrews 7:11-12], love your enemies [John 13:34; John 15:12; Galatians 5:22; 1 Corinthians 13], bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,“ 2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
@@pierreferguson1300 God never approved it , he allowed it ! Big difference! Did God approve divorce ? NO! since the beginning it was NOT so. Did man divorce was it approved by Moses ? Yes they did. He knew the hardness of man heart, so rules was set for it.

Also, these prophets did not find favor for having multiple wives they found favor because of their faith in God (Romans 4)
The Bible is not a book of polygamy it’s a book about how we are all need to Repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
@@ivorysmith239 While you are trying to contemplate an answer, I recommend this video over here: ruclips.net/video/xwlptoegSKw/видео.html
If anyone is making up a fake God it's those that support polygamy. God never meant for no-one to have more than one wife. Just because that happened in the Old Testament mind you that was only FEW but MOST prophets in the Old Testament had ONE WIFE because that's what God intended.
The NEW Testament that we are under, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:2:
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Adam-and-Eve were the closest thing to perfection in human form before the fall and , it was one husband and 1 wife.
Kings were not supposed to Mary many wives !! Solomon and David both kings
Deuteronomy 17:17
17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
1 Timothy 3:2
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;”
And yet Adam still sinned, so your argument goess flat! You have quoted Deut 17:17 out of context. I TImothy 3:2 does not apply to non-bishops.
@Daniel DeLuca no your not receiving that's all and not paying attention to what the message said.
I SAID - BEFORE THE FALL !!! THEY WERE PERFECT !!!!! WITH ONE WIFE ONE HUSBAND!!!!!! THATS HOW GOD INTENDED FOR IT TO BE!!!!!!!!! ANYTHING AFTER WAS MAN WILL !!!!
@@Hesimms God only intended that for Adam and Eve. You have no evidence whatsoever to back your assertion that God intended this for everyone. Looks like I got under your skin. Well you did use Scripture out of context. I know it doesn't feel good to be called out for doing something like that, but you shouldn't do that sort of thing to begin with.
@Daniel DeLuca under my mind skin ??? 🤣🤣🤣 NEVER !!! I talk to people all the time , who try and twist scriptures to please their flesh. LIKE YOU !! . Trust me !!! Again, there's a difference between God approving something and allowing somthing !!!!
God never approved divorce, but he allowed it because of the hardness of man heart !!! It was the same way with people multiplying wives!!!
Word
the lack of responsibility is frustrating, to say the least.
No polygamy …….. unacceptable
The New Jerusalem is the Bride of the Lamb, and God portraid Himself as a husband to two women as well!
I'm just curious why Cam is releasing this so early. Lmao
So Cam up here trying to be Solomon. Just kidding.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Asking for a friend
Which book is the correct one.
@@danieldeluca4936 understood but can you prove all that or are we all regurgitating what someone said to us?
@@Marcfyve24 Absolutely! I will refer you to the Hydroplate Theory, and the Five minimal facts about the resurrection.
Take away accountability and reason and you have...🤔💻
A man who ditches one wife in order to stay monogamous.

@@Hesimms In Exodus 21:10; Deuteronomy 21:15, God approves of polygamy for Jews and proselytes in Old Testament Judaism. But I am a Christian in New Testament Christianity, who is only interested in monogamy that God approves of. God does not approve of polygamy in His New Covenant. There are two covenants (Galatians 4:21-26; Hebrews 7-8). I don't mix the Old Covenant w/ the New Covenant, simply because Matthew 5:43 is not Matthew 5:44.
Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor [Leviticus 19:18] and hate your enemy [Deuteronomy 23:6].’ 44 But I say to you [Hebrews 7:11-12], love your enemies [John 13:34; John 15:12; Galatians 5:22; 1 Corinthians 13], bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,“
2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded.
@@Hesimms if God did not approve of polygamy in the Old Covenant Law given through Moses at Mount Sinai according to the order of Aaron, then Exodus 21:10; Deuteronomy 21:15 is confusing. And the only scripture in the Old Testament where the word approved appears is in Job 29:11. I simply disagree w/ your eisegesis.

Solomon sinned greatly with all those wives. Building their gods and idols. Because of it God said he gone divide the kingdom up after Solomon dies
Yeah, he overdid it a bit. Not the greatest example of polygyny. Not only did he violate Deut 17:17, but he also married foreign idolatrous wives.

Where in the Bible says husband loves your wife as Christ loved the church she did not mean to die for her guardian called us to die for anybody we have to be willing to die for him we have to be willing to stand for him no one gets the pedestal next to or above God I would life is for God with you married or not not your children not your parents not your spouse you submit your life to God. There’s a Lotta other characteristics of what God did when he made that statement
It doesn't say "husband love your wife".
