Violinist: Minami Yoshida (Japan) Orchestra: NDR Radiophilharmonie Conductor: Andrew Maze Final Round - Commissioned Work and Violin Concerto Manfred Trojahn (1949) 1. 1:05 - To Be Played in the Garden - Solo Violin Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77 2. 16:34 - I. Allegro non troppo (35:34 - Cadenza) 3. 41:26 - II. Adagio 4. 50:39 - III. Allegro giocoso, ma non troppo vivace
Great clarity - even with the damped acoustics in the hall every note was clear. Her tone was incisive. Despite the acoustics, she made that high note (e) sing at 35:07. The phrasing was delightful, not "studied." Bravo!! Minami deserved to win first prize!!!!!
