I for one had never heard these guys and happened across this performance on good ole' MTV. Become mildly obsessed with this song but can't quite explain why.
I'd say its sounds more like a diluted Simple Minds circa 1981/2. As most of their fans won't have heard that they are just fine getting away with it. Why do the camera operators insist on zooming in on that annoyingly self conscious blond tart all the way though this? She sums up all that is wrong with music festivals and the reason I could never go to one. Who on earth would pay hundreds of pounds to look at some shite flags all days and silly tarts on their beefcake boyfriends' shoulders.
agreed on both simple minds & the media obsession with 21 year old graduates from Surrey.I have been to enough glastonbury festivals to remember a time when this wasn't always the case and people were there who were actually into the music rather than texting their friends who couldn't get in telling them what a great time they are having.
claudio barragan sorry to do that Claudio but the way I see it is I am happy to listen to bands who having a passing influence - and The Horrors were precisely that up until the current album. They have clearly decided they want to be more commercial (check out the terrible rendition of Sea Within A Sea at Glastonbury this year). It is no accident they sound more and more like Simple Minds as I think they sat down looked at how a group can go from uber cool to Stadium Rock riches and stumbled on the SM back catalogue. I would much rather listen to original Simple Minds (of whom I was a massive fan pre-1984) than this garbage.
Get over yourself matey. Arp'ed synths were championed by everyone in the late 80's and also included a lot of the Detroit house movement which the horrors have never shied away from when it comes to comparison. I will give you "70's cities as love brings the fall" intro as a similar "sound" but its very lazy to consider the horrors as just a rip off band. I'd argue you love your old music and can't find a "fix" in the modern era...and probably cite Oasis as a cheap Beatles rip off!
Just listened to their latest album it's poor just one descent track I See you, other than that it's all I've heard before and they are a poor copy of simple minds.
I was there and the recording is not good quality, this seems to be the same with all Glastonbury BBC recordings. This was awesome live and Faris voice is amazing!
This was a fantastic afternoon, an exceptional show

shit! you just opened my ears to that simple minds reference, and now you ruined this band forever for me. the flags omfg, why would they allow it?

Clicky bass drum in the mix ruins everything!
ummm...i have no problem with hot blondes wearing wayfarers. Pretty much the reason all of us women lovers exist.
I think he was sick...
Lush tune
Surely that chick at 2:20 is planted. Couldn't be smoother.
Zlatan
This arrangement does not float my boat
1:36 - everything that is so wrong with festivals - still she is not waving a flag so I musn't grumble
y iz voice :(
Their live shows are always terrible, love their songs though
yeah, this was not a good performance. my first listen to the band and not impressed at all.
Hmmmm sounds like a pretty terrible version of a Smiths Song
Singer is horribly off-key in all their live performances.
Just listened to their latest album it's poor just one descent track I See you, other than that it's all I've heard before and they are a poor copy of simple minds.
His voice is terrible
In a good way of course
Mariya Y How did you interpret that to be in a good way?
Yo, that's your opinion. Others may not share it.
Я бы даже сказал в нем лавное не голос, а те чувства, которые вызывают его песни.

this sucks!!! why are they even called the horrors !!!! bleeeeeeeeee
terrible frontman
one of the worst performance i have ever seen/heard!
