    These things still look futuristic as in more modern than today.

      In all the campground I've been in with my GMC, I haven't seen anything that looks as cool!

    Always nice to see these with the original interior, these motorhomes just don't look right when renovated

    So glad to see that these iconic motorhomes are still around. Back in the day, my uncle had a Cadillac/Buick/Pontiac/GMC dealership and my Dad was the GMC motorhome sales manager and he would occasionally take one for a weekend getaway. So, very fond memories of these vehicles. Thanks for sharing!

    No 3 has a lot of potential with the right plan. That rear bathroom is an excellent idea.

      The water tank at the rear would be a problem will driving with it filled.

    Haven't seen a video from you in awhile. When I saw the thumbnail photo for the video I was thinking oh no you bought 3 more gmc motorhomes?!!!
    Very cool to see the homes thanks for sharing. Very cool video tour!!

      Ha, thanks for the comment! I'm not crazy enough to get these three but it was fun to see them. Lots of potential. I have lots more to with Edna, it's just been busy and the weather is getting cold here.

    Wow, as you say these are a great starting point for someone. All illustrations of what could be an easy fix if you have skills in one area and not the other.

    • @MrGMCMotorhome

      Yes! And with some time and money all of these could be very nice for a lot less than a new motorhome

    Thank you so very much. I sincerely appreciate it and I'm always considering one of these style of motorhomes. I myself would feel more comfortable having metal ribs on the floor of course with possibilities of a metal floorboard. But i really like these. Thank you

    • @MrGMCMotorhome
      @MrGMCMotorhome  6 месяцев назад

      We have really enjoyed ours, it's unique and very useable. The walls, roof, and floor have aluminum ribs. That is what the wood floorboard is bolted to.

    I think they are the best looking, and at the time, best engineered motorhome, ever! I am building a pickup camper from scratch, and I think that's easier than the complete overhaul somebody started on that 3rd one. If there was a modern engine/ trans. swap that would get better fuel economy, I would be tempted to get one.

    These would be GREAT as PHEVs with a totally electric powertrain since it all ready have a generator to recharge batteries and provide electricity to the appliances.

    • @MrGMCMotorhome

      There are a few in Europe, I think there is even a club or two that gets together for events. Everything about these is expensive, from the maintenance and upkeep to the fuel costs.

    • @MrGMCMotorhome

      The windows are branded as C R Laurence Automotive Products. I don't see anything for a GMC on their website but they may do custom work. www.crlaurence.com/productcategory/AutomotiveWindowsSupplies

    I'm dreaming of finding one like the flush window one. where did find them?

    • @MrGMCMotorhome
      @MrGMCMotorhome  5 месяцев назад

      There have been a few companies that have made window replacements over time. The company that made the windows for this coach doesn't make them anymore but I would check with the various GMC motorhome supply houses to see if they have a source.

    Im actually curious if its a metal floor board

    • @MrGMCMotorhome
      @MrGMCMotorhome  6 месяцев назад

      These have aluminum framing in the walls and floor with wood floors. The wood seems to be marine type plywood that has held up well but some people are now replacing floor boards with engineered laminated wood sheets, usually from marine applications.

    Where are you located. Or where is your friend located. Eventually, I will want a GMC Motorhome Buying Consultant. Do you ever do that? Or, does your friend?

    • @MrGMCMotorhome
      @MrGMCMotorhome  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the question! My friend and I are both located in Eastern Washington State, near Spokane. There is a great resource for perspective GMC owners and it's "The Black List" (www.gmcmi.com/black-list/). You can get access to the latest version by subscribing to GMCMI but there are older versions also available. We contacted a few of the people listed on the black list to help us look at coaches we were considering or just give advice based on photos over the phone or via text and email. There is a great community of people who enjoy these rigs.

    Why are so negative on the 3rd motorhome? It has a lot of new items, and a lot to do. But compare it to what you had in earlier video, this is way ahead.

    • @MrGMCMotorhome
      @MrGMCMotorhome  5 месяцев назад

      All 3 have potential but need lots of work. The 3rd motorhome has had a lot of upgrades and parts but was probably the farthest from being ready to use. If someone put in all the work to complete it, it could be a very nice modern motorhome for a lot less money than a new one.

      A lot of the parts are general RV or GM parts. There are also several specialized parts suppliers for these motorhomes and clubs where people save, restore, sell original parts.

    "Anybody" would want to spend the night in it???? I beg to differ with you on that score as many people spend nights in far worse and old motor homes are an important source of affordable housing. I can find inaccurate use of terms like "anybody" and "nobody" to be a bit offensive. Though I'm sure that if you are so sure that nobody will want to spend the night in it, there will be no need to lock it.
    There are some animal rights people who would suggest that the mice themselves constitute "anybody". I wouldn't go quite that far but do suggest that there are around a billion people whose lives are not much better and who would dearly love to sleep with the mice in that motor home.
