Congratulations! I’m glad you got perfect shoes. It concerns me your teacher didn’t know about the sole style. I feel like that should have been obvious.
Thank you so much! To give a bit more context, the pointe shoe fitters explained that it's actually common for teachers to be concerned about the split sole/shank construction (especially more traditional teachers seeing an uncommon style). My teacher's main concern is keeping me safe and since my feet are flexible but not very strong yet, she was afraid they might break if they weren't sturdy enough to support me. It's difficult when the teachers and pointe shoe fitters can't communicate with each other and only have me as a middle man, when I'm not fully educated on all the terminology and what not. But once I was able to better explain what the pointe shoe fitters explained to me, my teacher was fully on board.
Pointe shoes are so beautiful!! I'm so happy for you! This took me right back to being 12 years old and my ballet teacher telling 6 of us at the barre that we were ready for pointe. I was so incredibly excited. I wore out my first pair in 2 weeks because I wore them every minute I could! I hope you can find someone to help you sew your ribbons and elastic. Happy 30th birthday! I just got a fitting for the same shoes!!! Loving them so far. My favorite of the ones I’ve tried! (I’ve also been in Capezio Ava and Bloch Balance Lisse)

I usually wear Bloch for my soft shoes and love them. And then my teacher recommended Bloch as one of the best for pointe shoes too! I figured I'd start there and I couldn't be happier :) Also, YES my fitter was soooo sweet. She had such a calming presence about her and was super knowledgable

Yes of course! those videos are coming. Like I said, I wasn't able to dance on them until they were approved. I'll be dancing in them for the first time this week so there's a lot to look forward to :)
