ha ha! 🤣 😅😂for a second I thought you said that the glass grapes 🍇 reminded you of your grape grandma!! 👵 and my mind flashed to Violet Buaregaurd, in charlie and the chocolate factory, and her licking the wallpaper and turning into a giant round purple grape 🤪🤣!
Great stuff ! There are quite a few farm auctions in that area Alex . That would be a great source for items to resell . I found a farm auction just outside of Okotoks . Oh boy !!! It was a cold , wet windy day . Too many people didn’t show up for it . Plus the auction company didn’t have great pics . So I took a chance and went . Needless to say I came out with lots of goodies . Spent no more than 75.00. Retail was well over 1800.00 ! 😊😊😊
I used to head Nanton several times a year when I lived In Calgary to check out the antique shops. I was so worried that they didn't make it through Covid shut downs. Thank you so much for this video really warmed my heart.
I was in Nanton years ago and one of those stores had 2nd and 3rd floors. They were tiny apartments and filled with antiques also. I found those apartments very intriguing.
Alex have you been to an antique store in Red Deer Alberta? Violetta the owner is a you tuber psychic and tarot card reader. I hope you do a video at her shop, she is lovely and accurate.
14:20 bang and Olufsen the turntables from that era are very sought after. Granted that's a receiver and tape deck. Bang olfusen has a cult following. 14:20 , usually the components are separate but b&o also made "furniture" for their audio products, the speaker stands also are sought after . If you find b&o it's worth a gamble of picking it up.
B&O music system is Danish quality at its best. But when you talk about Danish quality, you cannot avoid the fact that it also costs a lot of money. ;)
Alex,Melissa, and entire family. You visited some great antique shops. I love the variety of items in the different stores. Unbelievable quality. Well my darling Alex and family. Until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🥤🥤🥤🙏🌞😇🇺🇸🌹❤️👍🌈🕊
at 4:33, I have that exact salt/pepper couple, I think it has a battery and they might say something? i’m going to have to investigate that further!🤪😂😉✅👍🏻
Lakeview Laundry ?!? That’s a north side Chicago neighborhood! What the heck is it doing all the way up north? Judging by the phone number, that’s from before area codes- definitely 40’ s or 50’s.
OMG NOOOO!!! Every quilter that sees that Feather Light sewing machine cut in half will be crying.
“Featherweight”
@@peggymcthompson261
It was probably just a typo …Anyone who is a quilter knows that🤗
@@peggymcthompson261 Thanks, senior moment.🤭
Abigail has clearly hit the phase that she is 100% embarrassed her parents exist. Fun times!
I like these Alberta episodes.
I think it's cool that you're going to different places. To look for treasures are fines. Whatever I always enjoy your videos.

MCM store is incredible.🎉😮😍 Absolutely love it.👍🔥❤️💪👌
So much good stuff!
Nice to see the large old store reopen
That mid-century store was awesome!
wish Alex would have slowed down the camera scans
@@katherinekaufman9856 Especially in the mid-century store 😀
@@katherinekaufman9856just hit pause and zoom in. That’s what I do.
That creaky floor!! I love it!!!
That was going to be my comment too. I love the sounds of a older building. The character it adds to the whole experience is fun.
Love your videos thanks

Always good to see the family Alex. Growing up fast.🙏🧡
You were a ways from home! I love Nanton! Bought a beautiful Bakelite bracelet at one of the antique stores.
It's fun traveling with you all😊!
I've always wanted a nice Bang & Olufsen stereo. They were always so futuristic for their age. Not only a stereo but a piece of decor.

Good show
I’m glad to see that old shop revived after the old store moved out.
It's fun traveling with you all😊!
NO WAY! NANTON???? That’s such a big time antiques place!
Nice to see the antique stores. I see them every time I drive from Calgary to Lethbridge but never seem to have the time to stop.
You luck into the best places 🌹❤️🌹
Awesome again 🎸 🎸🎸 🎸

If I remember correctly the older LeCruset pots are made better than the newer ones. So those would be the ones to buy and use
Every good antique store needs a squeaky floor.
What! Nanton and no Candy Store!? I like the antiques there, lol (as well as the candy 😜)
No mention of Nanton water either . Best water in Alberta.
I was also wondering about the candy store!

at 10:44 the lamp thing! I had an Arabian Nights genie 🧞♂️ lamp! and it disappeared 👻 probably because it was super tacky and my mother hated it 🤣
6am here in NZ, good morning!
Its about time you put out a Canadian video. I thought you had turned American.
His family use to be, and the U.S and Canada are basically the same people and type of culture. LMAO
A bit ethnocentric aren't you?

That Featherweight sewing machine cut to pieces is blasphemous.
It's not a Featherweight, but yeah, still blasphemous.
Lucite Spaghetti shades I think is what you were going for.

Good Afternoon
B&O is a very high end, innovative and excellent electronics line. Nieman Markus was selling them when I worked there in the 1980's.
I have 2 of the black panther lamps with red Venetian shades, took me years to find the matching shades for them.
Those spaghetti things remind me of the red hanging lamp you found in the Potter's House.
Perhaps the best job ever! I'd be ich if I never tossed all of those boxes of 'junk' in the past 50 years.
You missed the Piaget advertising sign at 14:55
As vintage watch guy, I would have at least asked for the price.
My cat Maggie is nicknamed Magpie because she’s black and white and likes shiny things.
A Dutch oven in England is farting under the quilt and shoving your wife's head under the cover 😂😂😂
It means that here too…. Although it better not be my head being trapped under the covers 😂

So he not only sells antiques, he also shops around in other antique dealer's stores. Fun, but not likely to find many bargains there.
@@johnsilva9139 sometimes there are . 😎
Weird, I was there this past Monday, Sept. 30th
Woah. First comment.
Truly amazing finds. Collecting is my jam.
Nice little Antiquity Row. I'm guessing an afternoon drive from home for you folks? Fun hanging out with you. 🥸
@@richwhitaker1506 I’d say it’s about 6 hours south of Edmonton. Depending on the weather and traffic.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
At least you are closer to home. You could have gotten something big.
Maybe it's just me but I hate seeing antique sewing machines destroyed because "crafts." 🤷♂

how much of these so called "Antiques" say Made in China?
Depends. More likely they will say made in Taiwan, Japan or Hong Kong.
I wonder how many say "Made in Alberta".
The antique stores in Canada pretty much all carry what they say; antiques.
