Chocolate mousse is light, fluffy, lusciously smooth, and intensely chocolaty. It’s so simple yet elegant and indulgent.
In French, the word “mousse” means foam and it’s an apt description of this dessert - light and airy. According to French chefs, the perfect rendition of chocolate mousse is based in its simplicity. This vegan chocolate mousse has just a short list of ingredients and can be made two ways - with aquafaba or with coconut cream (or the blend of the two).

I confess I never make your recipes. I just love to watch them and to hear your sweet voice. It is so relaxing :)
Lol, I take it as a compliment :)
I love Tanner’s description of the mousses as always. Amazing as always, Petra.
Thank you so much, Marina!❤️
Coconut version is rich but expensive and the fact it can be piped makes it super versatile. The aquafaba version is super cheap (depending on your extravagance for chocolate) and quite like. Two beautifully simple recipes! Thanks! ☺️👍🏻
Edit: a little tip for the coconut version is to put the coconut milk in the fridge first before skimming the cream off the top, because otherwise the cream is often mixed in with the coconut water and that won’t whip.
REFINED it's so the exact word to define your recipes, your videos and your couple. It's always a pure delight to watch you and learn from you. Thank you very much from France.
Thank you so much, Cassandre!
Petra is her name
Thank you for the details!
I was wondering where the chocolate was going to come from in the coconut version....and then I saw cocoa powder! Even better (cause that's usually what I have, all the chocolate gets eaten and I don't usually have any leftover haha)
Love your calming music
Both recipes.....fabulous n healthier version......💕and the kitchen is so pristine.......
You leave us no choice: we're just going to have to try both!! 😋😊
Hi: Love your videos, especially since you always show two options. I searched your channel to see if you had a recipe for oil free hummus. I thought you had one; however, I couldn't find it. Again, I enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Aquafaba simply stunning, absolutely neutral and carries the chocolate
Thank you for your beautiful delicious pure vegan recipes Best wishes for your life
Interesting mousses
Looks easy I will try
I made this recipe and I have to say that it is absolutely delicious I made the coconut chocolate mousse version
Thanks for the aquafaba tips..can't wait to try the recipe! 😊
You are very welcome. Hope it turns out great!

Thank you Silvia!
Which one of these would be best to ice a cake with?
NIIIICE!!! 👏👏👏
Amazing recipe
Thank you so much!❤️
Nice video, i love the coconut chocolate mousse, its looks smooth and velvety!
Thank you so much!❤️
@@NutritionRefined you're welcome
I *definitely* prefer the first recipe, with the real Chocolate.
Looking yummy
Thank you!❤️
you have such a lovely voice, you should be an asmr coach
Is it possible to also pipe the aquafaba version?
Hi guys this is so elegant looking I'm just crazy about coconut. Congratulations on another brilliant production . Have you got any coconut butter recipes to share ?
Thank you Bill! I appreciate it. Coconut butter? Well, I dont have a recipe per se (I can definitely film it) but it is really easy to make. All you need is desiccated or shredded coconut and a food processor. Process until smooth and creamy.
@@NutritionRefined hi.. spectacular day in Australia here . I hope your all well.
Yeah I make coconut butter that's easy .. but what could you turn it into .. I make like a frozen thin vanilla bar with dried chopped up blueberries that keeps it crisp for a treat .. that's nice but I'm sure there is a super recipe somewhere like your delicious creams ? 🍨
Can I use liquid sweetener instead of the coconut sugar in the coconut cream version?
More vanilla makes almost every dessert taste better. Try incorporating that :)
Agreed! I will give it a try :)
Can you make with just cocoa powder?
Is it possible to add cacao powder to aquafaba mousse with sugar like in the coco cream version? thanks
Yes! I have never tried it with a liquid sweetener, but I know that cocoa powder and powdered sweetener works. However, the consistency will be a little different. The chocolate makes the mousse set (as it hardens). The cocoa powder and powder sugar would make it fluffier (lighter).
@@NutritionRefined Nice to know. Thanks 🙏
Can't wait to try, as a fairly newish vegan, I am tired of everything tasting like coconut. I will try the chickpea version. Fingers crossed 🤞, thanks!
Yea, for me this thing is really overwhelming, cause I hated coconut taste long before go vegan.
Also, there is one other option - you could use water+dark chocolate ("Herve This chocolate mousse")
@@user-mm2un4km6h ill look into that. 👍😵
as you are new, some youtube channels:

welcome to being vegan 😇

What kind of brand of chocolate is that
Will you someday teach us how to make fermanted nut cheese?
YES! It is filmed already. I have a lot of content filmed. It just takes a lot of time to edit it.
Can i freeze aquafaba for later use? And how long can it be stored in the freezer till it expires?
Please share the results if you do freeze aquafaba. Thankyou
Do you still get the peaks from frozen and defrosted aquafaba?
YES!
There is nothing quite like watching things get piped...
I will never descart aquafaba again!!
how about whipping up the aquafaba, and then mixing in some coconut cream and the chocolate
who already tried,?
How many calories in each pudding?
2:01 I used LSD. This dinner party got weird.
My question is ,
why not add dark or semi-sweet chocolate to the coconut cream mousse?
Wouldn't it make it richer and
more chocolatey ?
This recipe is made to be dairy free. Yes, using chocolate would arguably make it richer, but dairy free chocolate can be expensive
Recípies in português
The coconut cream recipe looks perfect for what I’m looking for. However, you don’t give amounts of each ingredient. 😞
Mmm is it possible to have melted chcocolate blended coconut cream instead of cocoa powder?
You'll probably have problems with oil separation and with the warm mixture holding on to the air bubbles.
@@MushroomMagpie but she said to allow the chocolate to cool down... and then mix it.
I think it would be possible. However, I also think that it would be tricky because if you mix chocolate with just a little bit of liquid, the chocolate will seize. Depending on how much liquid there is (in the coconut cream), the results will differ. If there is quite a bit of liquid (this can happen especially if you're using canned coconut milk and scooping out the cream), the chocolate will seize at first, but then loosen (which might produce runnier mousse). If there is too little liquid, the chocolate might seize and the cream will turn grainy and pasty. If there is no liquid, it will work just fine.
@@NutritionRefined thank you for your reply and feedback!
I do this all the time! Gives a great texture to the mousse, more stiff. What I do is melt the chocolate and blend in the blender with the coconut cream, some cocoa powder, and sweetener. Then I refrigerate overnight before whipping. This is especially good if your coconut cream doesn’t whip as perfectly, as it gives more structure
Not equal taste test, used melted chocolate in one and cocao powder in other
Coconut cream>? :)
like si no entendes un porongo pero igual lo ves
I can't understand what is aquafaba actually please do explain
The leftover water from cooked chickpeas.
Thanx
What quantity should be taken how does it taste
Don't you taste chickpeas in the mousse???
yeah
This video just drags.......
Booooooriiiing
this is not dairy free
apologies for having so many questions under your recipes lately !:) but im not sure about aquafaba , most of the ones i saw have salt and i believe that’s not something we want right ?
also does it matter if it’s water from can or jar if we use already boiled store bought one?:)
much love 🤍
oh also another q i have that i’ll just put here for convenience , since i found today is chocolate day haha , i’m planning to make one of your chocolate recipes either one of these , raw brownies or fudges , which one brownie or fudge would you serve to guests that are not even vegan?:) and what is the difference between brownie and fudge in general ? i’m not quite sure to be honest !
