I don't get it... I think the main reason is that because houseboats are lots. Sims can own and live in lots. If lots are deleted, the game may crash. So my main thought is that krakens can't attack house boats because of technical reasons.
The Sims Tutorials I found so many tutorials, half of them don't work, other half are too hard to do because of file and programs manipulation. Or it's me just retarded lol
Oh, it seems like my comment has disappeared. Try searching for tutorials in The Sims Wiki. There are guides to building dive lots and hidden islands. Also search for SimGuruGraham's forum post explaining houseboats and how to build ports.
