      I’m 20 and I won’t lie I’ve learned a alright amount in school, but from this guy I’ve learned so much about the universe and stuff that actually interests me from him than I did at school. I find the way he speaks it to resonate with me much better thus being easier to remember. He is an excellent teacher !

    This show is genuinely one of my absolute favorites of all shows out there! The combination of Dr. Tyson and his unique ability to communicate the most complex and comprehensive concepts in astronomy to people without a degree in astrophysics is beyond compare. The addition of Chuck’s sharp wit and comedic talent makes it even more captivating and entertaining! I sometimes binge watch this channel while I do housework or when I’m stuck in traffic which makes me forget about the rage inducing experience that is driving in New Orleans. I always say that driving in New Orleans is a combat sport, and that isn’t an exaggeration either!
    I love you guys!

    Did you know, a lot of us are hooked to star talk, because of the amount Neil talks with his hands. The more hand gestures you use while talking the more it captures your audience.
    *Chuck shouts* "and this man's hands have a mind of their own.."
    It also makes the audience feel like you're more of a warm, agreeable & energetic person. So psychologically, we might only be addicted to the star talk & the way Neil explains things just because of his hands...

    I love how NDT explains how hopeless the universe is in such a realist's way. It's facts and science and we can't stop it. But it's not intended to make us feel hopeless or meaningless. Instead it encourages us to be curious about our natural surroundings and live life with positivity and charisma because we are alive temporarily, so might as well make it awesome! Plus I'm happy that I lived and that eventually, my remains, whether in ash or fossil, will be on this rocky planet while the sun burns out and we collide with andromeda and just be along for the ride wherever we end up in the infinitely vast emptiness of the vacuum of freezing cold space. What a privilege you and I have to even have developed our atoms and molecules and breathed and lived to witness even the sliver of time our lifespan allows us to take in the beauty and mystery that is the universe! Peace to all😊

    Great episode!! Artists illustrating science for all audiences is a must in my opinion! not only for the functional use of representation of something we can't capture other way, but also to the addition of beauty in the task of engaging more people into this subject. Channels like Kursgesagt - In a nutshell are a good example of it :)

    So yesterday my wife comes up to me and says "Don't laugh at me but I have a question. I dont understand Pluto."
    I replied "ok no problem. What about Pluto dont you understand?"
    "Any of it. How its there. How we know its there. How we got there. How we received photos of it. THERE IS NO WI-FI IN SPACE!"
    I then spent the next two hours talking about Pluto. It was a great day. If it weren't for guys like Neil and Chuck teaching me about the universe I couldn't have helped her.

    I wonder, if gravity usually depicted as this fabric of spacetime bending *inward* is it theoretically possible to have anti-gravity? As in the space actually bend *outward* thus pushing matter instead of pulling them in. You know, like the 2 poles of a magnet?

    • @masnav1
      @masnav1 3 года назад

      I think that i heard something like that, about negative gravitational, in some futuristic spacecraft designed that can't work yet. I will try to find it and share the link. If you interest just comment so i get i notification tomorrow incase i won't find this comment:)

    • @jorgepeterbarton
      @jorgepeterbarton 3 года назад

      I think this is theory for the Alcubierre drive. It requires a negative mass or energy which so far is pretty much made up?
      Its also speed of light is a constant. So if time is curved its generally going to curve to be slower, as in gravitational field. But this negative mass thing, i think has properties of going faster than light like tachyons and things? Basically for our current knowledge impossible.
      I think realistically some spots in unverse end up looking like repelling just as theres a gap. I imagine some plast
      ic sheet stretching as its pulled who knows.
      But yes dark energy, the expansion of universe - THAT is antigravity sort of? We dont know what that is.
      Zero point energy, yes the energy of the quantum vaccuum. That repels. But its so tiny that no work could be extracted for any significant effect.
