My wife and I are doing the same thing except we don't have blood ties to Mexico but rather we will gain our Mexican citizenship through the permanent residency route. In 2021, we sold our house in Boise and sold or donated most of our belongings, packed up a small utility trailer, and moved to Mexico. But before we left, we applied and were granted permanent residency at the Mexican consulate in Boise. After 5 years living in Mexico, we will be able to apply for naturalization and become dual citizens in 2026. Viva Mexico!
If they feel that strong about their ties to Mexico, or any other country of origin, they need to return and give up their American citizenship. They need to give allegiance to America or their native country. Congress should change this law concerning dual citizenship, give up their native country entirely when they become citizens, their children should also be included. I was born and raised Hispanic from the state of Texas and appalled that this great country allows this.
I understand what you mean, but you also have to understand, that people can have passion for both countries. Not to mention, maybe they have a business that essentially forces them to need dual citizenship, or maybe they have family to take care of in Mexico that can't afford expensive visas, but they live here, so they need both citizenships. It's a lot to consider.
Will you also expect that from the dozens of people in congress that have taken dual Israeli citizenship and are voting for billions of dollars going to the genocide and to build illegal settlements in the West Bank?
@@kokohead333 I hate to break it to you but Mexico is part of North America. I absolutely love both countries for 2 completely different reasons. I was born in the United States but I'm choosing to live full time in Cabo San Lucas Mexico because it's an amazing city and it's absolutely gorgeous here. Both countries have so much to offer and teach one another. Mexico is much like how the United States was in the 70s and 80s.
Dual citizenship is just a money grab. There’s no US law that provides such privilege. There is a U.S. law that prevents it. Read the oath of naturalization and explain how that allows dual citizenship.
@ If this question is in response to dual citizenship, I’m not understanding the question. If they were born here while subject to the jurisdiction, they are only American citizens.

Viva Mexico!
For as much patriotism they have they were instrumental in the downfall of the country they love so much
This is the problem!
That they don't see a problem
Because they think they can have it all

@@jamescadzow9545 Not breaking anything to me 😆 I'm well aware of where Mexico is and how amazing it is! My comment was "to each their own"

But, those people interviewed are born in the United States how it will work.
