There is NO disadvantage to having a dual citizenship. (I hold 3 passports and have never felt a downside to that; quite the contrary!). Your arguments have little validity. How many people go into politics (0.01%?) or the military (1%?). You fail to mention that you can always renounce your second citizenship if it becomes a handicap. So, there’s no drawback. In your case, your dream of becoming a politician may, may never, materialise. But again, if it comes to it, all you’d have to do is to drop your British citizenship (which is not complicated at all) to shoot for President of Ghana, or whatever position you dream of. It happens all the time.
Honestly, any African would be crazy to turn down a Western passport for any reason whatsoever.

It’s always handy having multiple to enter different countries, especially those countries that have varying visa fees. For example, China. The identity conflict can be challenging. When people say where are you from, my default is the UK, my place of birth, no one can take that away from me. For administration purposes when attending certain imstituitions I say whatever country that I am residing "from".
Some people like to connect me to Barbados.(my parents birthplace). I am not from there I was not born there and they would not recognize me I would have to apply for citizenship which is a process.

The local champions are afraid you will end their corrupt practices. Period. Most of them have nothing to offer. Politics is a means to an end for them. Plenty of Africans return their Western passport, all depends on your position and status in life. Most Western countries don't have tax treaties with African countries, you would have to pay the double taxes and later file a claim for refund. Africans get excited with foreign nationalities but don't understand the implications. If you have something good going for you in your country of birth you don't need the western passport.

I've had a the most conflicting conversation of my life with a Ukrainian guy at work who has dual nationality. His father is Russian and his mother is Ukrainian. Basically, I asked him where is he from, he said Ukraine. I said I had never met a Ukrainian person before, then I went on expressing my deepest sympathy for the people of Ukraine for what Putin is putting them through alright. Then to my disbelief, this guy started to fiercely defend Putin as a national hero and condemning Ukraine for protesting against Russia. He went on telling me that according to the constitution of Russia, protesting against the Russian government is an illegal act 🤔 he doesn't care Russia invaded Ukraine in the first place. The irony though, he took advantage of his Ukrainian passport to seek political refuge in London where he presents himself as Ukrainian and enjoys all the benefits but deep down, dispises Ukraine because he's actually emotionally, culturally and politically Russian. I feel sorry for his mother and half of his family which are Ukrainians.

Remember that not taking citizenship doesn’t necessarily allow you avoid tax on foreign income especially in the UK. It is based mostly on residence and domicile. In fact with the right 2nd or 3rd passport would help you be more tax efficient.
As others have said, go for the British passport if you get the opportunity. If it becomes a problem just drop the UK passport.
On identity your son will always have the problem cos of his accent. At least a British passport will allow him travel more easily, which is the only real advantage of something like a UK passport.

I agree with all the factors except Identity crisis- If your lineage is African or Carribean, that’s your true identity- regardless of whether you were born in England- you might have the identity crisis but the indigenous British will help you solve your identity crisis by letting you where exactly you belong. Read between the lines.

The idea that someone would betray a country just he is a citizen of another only appeal to government under the rule of ignorance. Knowing the character someone is a science. Uncivilised countries always think along tribal lines but this doesn't work. In the UK, the previous government gifted 290 million pounds to Rwanda without any of the guys being dual citizen.

Capital gains from foreign properties are exempt disclosed to the us IRS . As s dual citizen you can chose which ID docs to present to the company reg of that economic region your register your Business Entity. Most countries operate a remittance base tac so unless you remit funds into the economic region it doesn't impose tax.
Not only us imposes tax on global income South Africa and Ethiopia do too only they done have sway GCR entities as the US does
Consular support only goes as far as arranging legal representation. Or a repatriation flight.
    Regardless of national security implications
People with dual citizen still get security clearance to work on such projects

Do you want to swap British citizenship for a seat in the parliament of a cesspool of a country like Ghana? Do you really understand the benefits multiple passports bring? Putting all your eggs in one basket is stupid! Also for double taxation, you're not absolutely correct since in most countries if you don't stay for more than 90 days, you ain't required to pay taxes. I'm originally from Ghana, but a legal resident in Mauritius, I have been a Nomad for 8 years and haven't filed taxes in any country during this period. For the US it's a different ball game altogether. As of May 15, 2023, 5,315 US citizens have renounced their citizenship, a sharp increase from the 2,390 who were renounced in 2022. When Tina Turner did that some decades back and moved to Switzerland, many people didn't understand her. It's not as complicated as you wanted us to believe. Many are renouncing US citizenship because of the obnoxious tax system and the fact that the land of the free is no longer free, now an empire of warmongers, deep state conspiracy, Welfare haven with lesser opportunity to create wealth, etc. With your love for politics, you can always renounce your citizenship before you file any legal papers to stand for public office. Those who got into trouble were the greedy ones who wanted to eat their cake and have it back. Multiple citizenship offers freedom of movement without the cost and headache of getting visas. Besides, it presents a lot of opportunities aside from those you mentioned. When things get messy in one country, there is the option to move elsewhere without getting caught in the 'crossfire'.
