    Timeshares are ALWAYS a Rip off. Just go to a Hotel or BnB, so you can pick up and leave anytime go ANYWHERE you want.

    I've never understood the whole idea of a timeshare. Just visit the location you want, stay for one week in a nice hotel, then check out and have no other 'maintenance fees' or any other type of fee. Those sales agents must be well trained and well paid.

      80% of them are not making a lot of money actually. Is only around $40k a year. The other 20% make insane making around $100k - $200k.
      Timeshare is not a scam if you know how to use it and if you're with a good company. I personally know people that like it.

      Yep. Seems unreal people still falling for Timeshares. Just go to a hotel or BnB and leave when you want, go where you want. Paying big $ up front, then a yearly maintenance fee that keeps going up when you can just go to a Hotel for the same or less $ than the yearly Fee's on the Timeshare and go ANYTIME!

      They almost got me 😫 luckily when I returned home I RUclips timeshare and saw everyone complaining I immediately send the cancelation letter (priority express) I was 8 days in the 10 days cancelation window 🙏🏾

      @@kellmarktv So glad you got out of that bondage nightmare in time. In a timeshare situation, the resorts wins. It's hell for the consumer. First you take a mortgage to buy the property. The yearly maintenance cost is the $$ you would otherwise spend on a vacation. That money goes to the home resort. If you want to go elsewhere for a vacation, you have to use an timeshare exchange using point systems. Why go thru all that just to take a vacation

      @@kellmarktv well done! I used to sell them in Russia after the fall of Soviet Union. Timeshare on Tenerife island. It was scam. Plus the manager took my sales % from me. She took my envelope. Basically I was robbed by company by doing the job for them . I still feel bad for people who bought time shares, often under pressure. I remember once we drove to a family house after midnight, after the presentation just to get their deposit (in cash). That was their only money. Horrible business, basically scammers

    I took my family to Branson and we had fun. We stayed at a Holiday Inn. A timeshare wouldn’t have helped us in Missouri or any other place.

    I just don’t get it. Why pay $8-15,000 for a week or two a year of contract obligated vacation when for $8000, you can stay at a decent hotel for like 2 months. I travel often and on average pay $65 a night. I could spend more but I don’t see the point of overpaying for a night’s sleep. A bed is a bed. If I feel like splurging, I book an embassy suites or something for a night.

    In this case, would it have been easier to just buy a house in Branson? It just sounds to me that the expense associated with the timeshare is as high, if not higher, than that of a home? I suppose I just don't understand the appeal/point of timeshare. Maybe it's my personality and schedule. I usually don't go to the same destination twice. Even if I re-visit a place that I have visited, I usually can't travel at the same time every year.

    I had inherited a time share at Hilton Head Island ( my oldest sister had purchased this timeshare in 1981 and was fully paid for)and for the last 20 years I've paid the yearly maintenance fees. I can't give the damn thing away. Tried to return the deed to the timeshare and they sent it back to me saying I still have to pay. I've NEVER stayed there,just paid the yearly fees. I refused last year,wrote them that I wouldn't continue to pay for something I don't want. How do I get rid of this yolk around my neck?!?!?!?!?HELP!!!!!!!!!!

      Assuming you are in the US, you can’t inherit someone’s debt, but money can be taken out of a deceased’s estate. I’d pay some money to a lawyer for a consultation

      Loralieisa M --- that was my situation. My oldest sister had passed away,and left a week to my other sister,and a week to me. I was told by my attorney that I HAD to accept the week. I've never been there,just paid fees for twenty years. I stopped paying two years ago. Sent them the deed,told them I wasn't interested,and would give it back to them. They sent the deed back and told me I had to continue to pay for something I didn't want. I put it on their website as a "FREE" timeshare......just pay for transfer fees ......there are fees for property that is NOT "real" property.....at this point,I'm still not paying the maintenance fees........

    If they scam so many people who never get to stay in these units I wonder who actually is staying in them? Are they owned and therefore not rentable?

      They also rent them out. A renter who will pay to rent the facility will always be given priority before customers who already paid them. Timeshares are scams in which people overpay for a vacation which becomes a money pit as maintenance fees go up.

    You should get a lobotomy before entering into a timeshare agreement with the big firms like Marriott or Hilton. I sat through a Hilton presentation, they wanted something like $30k for a prime week plus close to $1k a year. Invest that and you can live large wherever you want a week a year where you want when you want. We like Aruba and there are some stand alone resorts where you can buy a unit for a few thousand and maybe pay 7-8k a year maintenance. You do have the same unit each year at the same time, a much better deal.

      "7-8k a year maintenance?" That fee alone is a rip off. How many days a year can you use the unit for free? I'll bet about a week which equals $1000 per NIGHT.

    and, their oldest daughter died of a drug overdose? so sad. I think I remember hearing from special that they have 2 nannies for each child they have! so much money. so sad

    They’re not all a scam. We are extremely happy Marriott Vacation Club timeshare owners. We have vacationed places we would not have been able to go to have we not bought a timeshare. We vacation 3x a year in and out of the country, all we have to do after making reservations is buy our flights. And we always stay in nice and comfortable accommodations. It sounds like they don’t know how booking is done. They give you a timeframe to book and if you snooze and sleep and let the booking window pass, then you won’t get your desired accommodation or none at all

    Terrible. If you want to spend time at a resort, just rent it for awhile. At worst it'll cost you $5k for a week. At best it'll cost you $5k for the week.

    any time share it is not worh it at all. i will never ever go to a time share presentation. i went to a laxury hotel in luxur egypt top of the line hotel for 10 days with air fare and hotel total for 5 people $1700 thats an example. why waist timeshare thousands and thousands of dollars that i can go anywhere in the world at least 4 times a year and it will only cost us no more then 5000 a year.
