That squirrel dish has a SHARP taste!
Skin it and put it in salt water in the refrigerator over night.
My grandma always told me if you soak your squirrel and buttermilk for a day or two and then could forget it's so much tender that way. Never tried it myself but I'm just going off what Granny says

I've had a micro shard of glass in my foot, took a flashlight and a magnify glass to see it and get it out. No way you would see that in food. Y'all either brave or crazy lol.

Glass VS heat - lecture in case 10 others haven't told you already... any time there is a significant difference in temperature on one side of the dish compared to another it will break. because glass or pyrex (tempered glass) is not at all flexible , heat expands one area but not another and the dimensional expansion is large, so it wedges it self apart BLAM.the reason it doesn't do this often in an oven is the uniform heat, it expands every where the same... that is till you tilt the dish and the liquid rapidly cools one side but not the other then blam it breaks.the campfire was a guaranteed break as the flames play around the dish randomly so the heat is random... ect.

Try slow cooking in a brown gravy for 5+ hours, debone meat back into gravy. I like it over rice or toast but for your ketogenic diet you could do it over mashed cauliflower I bet the sweetness might make it even better. You might get a rib or two but you mostly can just dive in for my daughter I just double check for bones. Honestly super easy and amazingly tasty!!!

There's definitely a few issues with how that recipe is prepared (apart from the glass bowl) but the ingredients are bomb proof. Just need some olive oil.....or butter.

if you soak them over night in a butter milk mixed with a little bit of franks red hot, it will tenderize the meat and makes a better binder then eggs.

I stopped hunting small game with shotguns.I use a air rifle or a slingshot.makes it more of a challenge.
Not only that but unless you own a 20 or 16 you trash so much meat. Sling shot seems so hard yet he makes it look easy

Mounting things on the barrel and mag tube can sometimes interphere with barrel harmonics too. Be worth checking zero without camera for reference. Worth a try

Damnit... saw a grouse yesterday... but it was too close to a house (IMO 0.5 miles) to fire my shotgun, so I wasn't able to get it because I forgot my slingshot! Never forgetting it again.
If you had put the tomatoes in the bottom that might not have happened, the glass got hot with no juices under the meat. when things got warmer above and juices started coming down on the hot glass.....POP you know the rest.

Probably not. If it was real pyrex that is.
Tempered soda lime glass (pyrex) and Borosilicate (old school pyrex) can handle up to 450 no problem. Tops of camprifes are under that temp. Usually around 200-250.
It was most likely either a regular bowl and not TSL or Borosilicate, or it was the temp changing too fast for the bowl. Which neither type of glass will tolerate.
Or a slingshot ricochet.

you know you can heat water in a plastic bottle without it melting but when you heat glass you need fluids on the bottom is why it broke lol
The fluids would have gone to the bottom regardless of when you add them.

Squirrel has the taste of apricots here in Georgia. I loved hunting squirrels when I was a kid, but i didn't like the taste of apricots as much
