Go meet Indah man i really wanna see you both in the same frame
We are waiting for a possible meet up too
Yap that’s right me too ❤
Yeah! I wanna see him with Indah❤
Asengbeiro?
Whois indah???? Tenggo wicaksono
I taught English in Kemang for three years. When I got off the plane I knew no bahasa Indonesian. The people there were so nice that I never had a problem getting anything I needed. It was fun watching you go to the same parts of Jakarta that I did, So much to see and do. If you really want to have fun get off the beaten path and head out of the city. Wonderful people.
Ryan is so pure, talking to random people on the street lmao and as Indonesian myself I'd say hell no to durian.
bro i think i saw ur comment in a danish badminton athlete's channel :)
Same me too, I don't like durian 😂
Durian is definitely not on my list of food to try when I go to Indonesia 😂
Look so brave with your first durian, Mas Ryan!!!😁🔥🔥🔥
Hahahah, harus kuat ya 😎
Lucu ekspresi mukanya waktu makan durian 🤣🤣🤣👍👍🙏
@@rizkyfadillah4131 what does it taste like?
Very good job, Ryan. With bahasa Indonesia, songkok and batik on your body, sekarang kamu resmi 85% sebagai warga Indonesia.
Ryan, your sense of adventure and humor combine with a humble nature. That is what sets your videos apart from other language channels. Looking forward to the next one. ❤
Hey Ryan! Pocari Sweat is popular in Japan and South Korea, too! If it's common in Indonesia, it must be normal to see in SE Asia! The vlogs are wonderful, and it's awesome to see the locals receiving you warmly since you are speaking to them in their language and following their customs. Take care!
I've just done a quick research and I've seen that it's a Japanese product, popular in the whole continent of Asia and the Middle East, and it's commonly found in some other countries like Mexico. It's available online in the US but I've never seen it in a store here.
I am a white Australian who has been to Indonesia several times, and I love durian! My wonderful fiancée (who is Indonesian) got me to try it. She told me that the trick to finding a good durian is not to get one that is yellow in colour before being cracked open, as they are too overripe. Durian actually goes well with ice cream too.

Dude you're such a genuine, goofy, humble, and skilled person. Such a fun vlog (This video style reminded me of Laoshu) :D
Hope you have many more opportunities to travel to the other places to unleash your language prowess :D
Ryan you doing a great job covering life in Indonesia...food...the people seem very friendly and the history of this country is very interesting
Love this Ryan, also love the way your been embracing their traditional ways and handling it with so much respect ❤ You are awesome Ryan 😊
Bro as a filipino and had a bahasa as our FOREIGN language course in college i can say that their are many exact words or similar words in filipino especially if you are from the NORTH tribes here in the PH like me and i'll say this there are lots of words most of them are same in spelling and pronunciation and i can say that your accent and pronunciations are on point.
I don't even speak Indonesian or tagalog but I noticed the similarity
When I finish my study in Philippines, I might travel to Indonesia just like you did. By the way, I understand Indonesian Language somehow.
Makasih banyak-banyak. Ini content bagkus sangat.
Thank you, Ryan! I'm learning so much about a country most Americans aren't exposed to. And having fun along the way!
Amazing! I went to Jakarta years ago and I loved it! The locals are so friendly :)
Try to come to another areas too
I have also been to Bali! I’d love to go back to Indonesia one day
@@user-fd8go6cf8t o yeah bali is beautiful i love that place too, my dad was work there. Let me know if you go to Yogyakarta, I'm local there
Come to villages in Jogja, please. You can more experience with food, culture, wisdom local, etc.
I really enjoyed this vlog style travel video, not just about speaking a language but using your ability to speak their language while exploring the country and talking to the locals, putting it to real use! I love it.
ikut senang lihat Ryan Hale memakai Songkok dan Batik khas Indonesia
I really hope you keep making these travel videos. I feel like in a few years you'll be a class act.
I'm soo amazed that Indonesian and hindi/Urdu are so similar, I can literally understand most of the key words they are saying
Well.. cause we have long story with Indian long time ago, and what i know is the first religion which came to Indonesia is hindu and budha so yeah thats why we have lot of words like indian cause a lot of our words or name based on sanskrit.
Many Indonesian vocabularies are from sansekrit words in early pre indonesia language
you can understand it a bit? do you mainly speak Hindi? cuz I have no clue what they're saying
Indonesian language has around 2 - 5% borrowed words from Sanskrit, especially those related to the field of religion. It also has many borrowed words from various other languages such as Dutch, Chinese dialects (Hokkien, Hakka), Arabic, Sundanese, Javanese, and many more. However, the most borrowed language in Indonesian language is Malay, which is estimated to contribute around 30% - 40% of its vocabulary.
It's not even similar in the slightest., what are you talking about?
Many of your viewers are keep asking when will you meet Indah. I certain that a vlog with her while you're in Indonesia will blow the roof flown to the moon 😂
Yay you made it to Indonesia So fun to watch you explore and have fun. You are like a celebrity there 😎 hope to see more. have fun.
Indonesia is beautiful country right I❤🇮🇩
Bro you're vlogs are outstanding! makes me want to travel more!
I was supposed to go to bed 25 minutes ago, man that was so entertaining time flew by. Goodnight everyone and best wishes on the adventures in Jakarta Ryan!
it's a very weird dynamic cause some locals wanna profit off of tourists but theres also the sense of wanting to give discount as a sign of hospitality and welcoming.
Actually they do that as well to local tourists not just to foreigners
Yeah the base of any part of Indonesia is when a bule is seen then to make extra money of them
If there are not clued up on the concept
@@kakikukeko30 you are right and also wrong too
None locals are still Indonesians and will not get ripped off and bule is far far more of a chance of doing so
From many many concepts
Serves foreigners right, they have so much money they should pay more.
This reminds me of bargaining in Thailand. The back and forth. The fake leaving. The begging to come back, and more bargaining. 😂😂
Same thing in desi countries too. Experienced bargainers will start off with an impossibly low bid too.
Oh wow 30+min video to enjoy! we've been blessed!
Love your work man. Much love from Australia
Great video, Ryan! Looking forward to see more travelling videos with you!
I started watching ur videos recently, your content is so entertaining, keep it up
Fresh durians are so much better than frozen ones, there's a lot of Durian stalls in Kalibata
Ryan: Your trip will not be complete until you meet Indah! Enough said!
It would be very disappointing if that didn't happen.
@@flinx649 Correct! Ryan is so close! If I were him, I will make that effort to see her! You cannot live life on what might have been!
I love Indonesia, My wife is Indonesian and we are going to Indonesia this year. I have never tasted Durian because the smell makes my wife gag and she wont let me 300 yards near one lol. Anyway i hop you try all the food because it differs each Island.
Ryan, are you going to Bali too and plan to do a collab with Indah? ;-)
That pineapple, banana, and garlic description of the Durian's taste is so accurate 😂.
Durian is definitely not on my list 😂
Great outfit Bro! I like it! Your vlog is very interesting. I think you did a very difficult thing: you made Indonesian people main characters in the film. This tells me you have a great recpect for those people, which i really preciate. I must also say one thing - you're good at bargaining :-) This series of vlogs is in my opinion best material you have ever uploaded. Thumb up!
Are you Polish? 🇮🇩👋🇵🇱
@@faimontazara7254 Exactly! We have almost the same national flags :-) Greetings from Wroclaw city in the South-West of Poland!
@@lukaszlewczuk yes like a reversed flag, but the Polish flag is brighter 😅
Greetings from Aceh, the west end province of Sumatra Island, Indonesia 🙌
is Indonesian that easy that ur almost fluent in it?
, 14:19 omg how you went from 300k to 130k
this vlog was super cozy Ryan!! so many wholesome interactions and very comforting to watch. thank you for this:)
The stuff there is so beautiful I could just window shop for hours. Other languages I dont speak, sound like music. So many lovely sounding words. English to me sound kurt. hard. short. I dont think it flows. Indonesian sounds so great.
u have a great oppurtinity to meet indah faster goooooooooooo
Thanks for the videos. It's nice to see that you are having fun in Indonesia.
Hi Ryan.. I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep exploring Indonesia... 😊
Btw, one important advise for you, please never say "kamu" to older people. It is quite uncommon and rather impolite..
the solution should be say anda to older people...
Or, bisa juga kayak gini
Nama bapak siapa?
Bapak, namanya siapa?
Unbelievable fluency in such a small amount of time, amazing.
When do you meet indah. I’m only 10 min in on the video. Please tell me you meet her!
i love your indonesia vlogs! it's awesome to see what it's like there, because im hoping to travel sometime there to meet a friend :] keep up the vlogs because they're very interesting! 🤗
13:24 kemampuan menawarnya lebih baik dibandingkan saya😂.. Ryan sangat cepat beradaptasi. Semoga sehat selalu Ryan!!!
The algorithm brought me here! Looking forward to more vlogs in Indonesia Ryan! Greetings from Bali :D
where is Indah?😅
Indonesia people so warm
Great video man, love these videos in Indonesia
Thank you for being nice to Indonesian, Ryan! Appreciate it🙌
Pantes bahasanya kaya bali termyata gurunya dari bali 😂 aku awal nonton msh menerka nerka ternyata terjawab jg d video, enjoy bro in Indonesia, welcome
what a coincidence, my dad went to jakarta just yesterday!
I don't know prices of wood carved objects but if it was truly hand carved and all and not mass produced by machinery, then yea I think you got a good deal if you consider how long it likely took someone to carve and sand and polish/stain it and all that. Looking up on google they seem to make an average of like 5USD an hour there? So taking into assumption it took someone some time + materials and so on, yea I can't see how you could have gotten ripped off.
I love your videos you’re so sweet and kind in your travel videos and I love how you’re multilingual and are so good at every language you speak
Ryan, I would be interesting in you talking about how visiting has helped (or hurt) your Indonesian.
Wahhh😍😍😍 Ryan in Indonesiaaaaa yeeeeyyy please colleb with Indah please
Get to go see Indah!
cant wait for a better camera/mic setup. keep up the great travel content. the wholesome local interactions are awesome
OH Ryan blow the chicken! 😂 your clucking hilarious, really entertaining vlog, love your screen personality, stay safe and keep out the sun😀
Gag nyangka Ryan Hale ke Indonesia 👍👍👍, semoga senang jalan jalan dan tetap jaga Mr Hale
I love these vlogs
Another cool video from Indonesia... you chose a great destination. Now, learn Vietnamese and go to Vietnam? :D
Go meet Indah lmao
Its a MUST😂😂😂
You're lucky you've got an average body/head/height...it's always picking designs and negotiating with the fabric dealers before heading to the tailor to try to discuss a design in my 12th or 15th best language (how do you say, "make sure there is plenty of room in the junk drawer!" in indonesian?) when I want clothes in asia: all those great prices in the malls and markets and I can't fit any of the clothes...gave up on the native hats after a couple decades of trying, then found one made in mexico on amazon that fit...heck, just buying flip flops or slippers requires at least a day of traveling from one market to the next following leads on where one might find an american 12 (but if the label is american "12" it aint going to fit - get the "14")...
nice bahasa Indonesia love from philippines
Go meet Indah!!!
thats some serious bargaining skill bro 😂
13:50 that guy was trying to charge u way more than usual loool good for catching up Ryan
Anjirr jago nawar si Ryan,, AMAZING...
Maaf, Ryan..
Mohon maaf yaa, Ryan.....
So you are there to take beautiful Indah ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 advanced c🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉ongratulation man
Lets wait and see😂
when you go to see Indah ?
Love your videos ❤
Wow.... Ngeri kosakatanya... Natural bgt bosku.. bisalah jd vlog traveler di indo....👍👍😂
Loving the content Ryan, keep up the good work!
Jadi bukan "bukit tinggi" (tall mountain)😁 tapi "Bukittinggi", secara penyebutan memang sama, tapu secara penulisan berbeda
Ryan when are you hooking up with indah?
Wow, Indonesian people are so nice compared to where I live. Meanwhile, Balkan people are always rude, grumpy and unhappy with their lives. It's so cute how happy they are.
You look like you're enjoying yourself. I hope to be there soon also.
busset bukan maen neh bule pake tangan bro makan nya melokal🇮🇩bgt neh bule
jdi tringat mantan presiden barack obama yg cinta bgt sma INDONESIA
Different durian species taste different. Do not stop at one type ;) hope you can try more next time and freshly opened ones.
Great Job Ryan, I've really enjoyed this series of videos!
3:25 "udah songkok, sekarang batik juga" suaranya lucu gemessss wkwkwk
