I love the fact that Ryan speaks foreign languages so well, that the native language speakers accuse him of having regional accents. That's when you know you've mastered the language.

Beijing accent has a lot of words that sound like they were originally pronounced by an english speaking person. Therefore this accent is also easier to catch up (and being the capital of China, many people prefer to learn from there)

When I was teaching English in Indonesia people would ask me all the time, "What do you do for a living?". I just started telling them "It's a secret, so don't tell, but I work for the FBI". The reactions were priceless. I am jealous. I spent almost three years in Indonesia and never got passed conversational Bahasa. Everyone wanted to speak English. Keep doing what you're doing. Love the content.
