In my opinion, what I've experienced is perceived beauty in Mexico is having a beautiful physical voluptuous form, along with a pretty face, being feminine, and having light skin. Puerto Rican and Brazilian are so diverse that each one have a different phenotype. Argentinian have Italian, Spanish and some indigenous. Even there are redhead like canelo mexican boxer.That is made worse that the indigenous are not the from Puerto Rico or other Latin american like the ones in mexico. Puerto Rico have Spanish blood, taínos, African slaves, Irish and French. So no, Latinos was never used as a race term and should not be used a race term. Even worse, there are 33 Latin American countries each with their own accent Spanish, different gastronomy, history, celebrity, different type of indigenous each country have mixed their DNA with, different politic, different currency and so many more. To use Latino as how's gringos with their ignorant view of what is meant to be Latino is absurd since it simplify and put a non realistic view of what is meant to be Latino, how complex and diverse latam culture truly is. So no, I won't accept the gringos version of Latino full of misinformation. It is funny how gringo get surprised going to Puerto Rico and finding so many diversity and even getting their mind blown white Puerto rican with blue eyes or even redhead and blond speaking Puerto Rican Spanish. Beauty standards in Mexico are very different. In my opinion, what I've experienced is perceived beauty in Mexico is having a beautiful physical voluptuous form, along with a pretty face, being feminine, and having light skin. Anything less is OK, but not men's top pick. You have to either travel to Mexico or been born there to understand.
