- Nothing quite beats summertime here in the Pacific Northwest. Besides having a break from our usual rainy weather, there are ample opportunities to get out and explore searching for campsites that provide the perfect landscape view. For me, this trip brought more than a typical weekend adventure as there was a deeper meaning to why I wanted to get out and find that perfect spot. Ride along as we head into familiar territory out in Greenwater, WA traveling on some of my favorite summertime roads.

Yeah buddy. Think I have stayed at this spot. We went up a few weeks ago and it was packed, stayed as far out on FS70 as we could get with 2 wheel drive. Spent a lot of the summer out here, some great rock hounding in the area also. Totally spoiled to live so close to such beauty.
Right on, that's awesome to hear! The Greenwater area is amazing, so many spots that provide views of Rainier! Gets a little busy during the summer months, but I love coming out here during fall or even camping a lower evaluation in the winter to be near first chair for riding at Crystal 😉

I mounted the awning using a simple L-bracket that slide into the T-channel of the cross bars. It's not the hardware Kammok provides as I needed it to fit under the tent and be tucked away.

That's awesome! There are so many hidden gems out in this area. Just have to be willing to explore off the main path and get the occasional trail trophies 😉 😆
@@ConquestOverland yeah my 4runner has won it's fair share of trophies over the years lol. Both sides of that valley are full of great camping spots. Also been poking around the southern side of the mountain also!!

Does this spot have cellular network? If so, how is it, curious its Att/TMO as I have TMO.
Lastly, how difficult is terrain to get there? I have an AWD with 9 inch clearance.

This area has spotty cell service at least with AT&T, not sure about other carriers. As far as getting there, the road itself is just your average forest/ gravel road. Just before getting into this spot this is a very small "rock climb" (kind of showed on camera) but with your clearance you should have no trouble!

Indeed it is! The opening scenes were clips from Gaia GPS 😉 👍
So do you need to register or reserve anything to go there? Or is it just drive up and find a spot?
No reservation, just head up and see what you can find and claim for the night! This is all on public land in a National Forest, just remember to leave the area better than you found it so others behind you can enjoy the area for many years to come 😉 👍

Take Highway 410 towards Greenwater and take your pick on the endless forest roads 😉👍

Besides a few pieces of recovery gear and the emergency equipment, all you need is a reliable vehicle and the sense of adventure! Be sure to check out this area, honestly any road out there is a great choice. Besides the countless dispersed camping opportunities, there is plenty of hiking trails, fishing spots, views of Mount Rainier, and even the Stampede Pass trail that connect you to I-90!

To help keep these areas in good condition for all to enjoy I don't give coordinates out publicly. You have to remember, part of the adventure is finding these places for yourself vs. always getting the exact answer... Pull up your favorite navigation app, Google Earth, see the hints provided in the video, and get out exploring!
