Yup have to say thanks bother i came back to watch this video twice, who ever gave this video a thumps down is a hater this guy spoke facts on both systems
I watched this a while back and decided to go with envato. Then my friend told me she already bought story blocks and let me use it so I got a side by side comparison. With this side by side, I found out that the stock footage from story blocks is sooooo much better than envato imo. I struggle to find non-cringey stock footage from envato. Plus story blocks lets you select the file size of the video, which saves me so much space. Envato is nice for all the fonts and stuff, but overall storyblocks is the winner for me.
Interesting dude! I haven’t used much stock footage recently but I use all the other stuff for every video I do. Thanks for sharing what you think of it 🍻
Is it true that storyblocks only offers a bunch of their content on their annual subscription and not everything they show on the website??? I have heard that their is a catch to their subscriptions n they are not upfront about it. How much of that is ture in yr experience??
@@inspiring5234 No I havent really felt that there's a catch. If you're looking for good stock footage, story blocks definitely does not let you down. I dont know about all the other assets, but for footage alone, ive never felt that theres not enough and I've never had to pay extra.
This was really useful. I have been an Envato user for 2 years now and I neve had any complaint. My subscription ended a few days ago and I was tempted to try the Storyblock subscription, but after this video I will stick with Envato for another year. I've neve had any issue with downloadings and for example the After Effects templates usually come with a tutorial wich is really helpful. New subscriber here from Portugal! 😎
Hello. 1 year passed since you commented. Did you once again take envato subscription? Also, in these 3years(not considering this one) you invested a total of $600. Did you churn out returns more than the investment? If yes, how? I am a freelance video editor and till now, I was only using pexels and pixabay for stock videos, and RUclips for free templates. But, now, I want to scale my business, so I am thinking to buy envato elements. But I will only invest if I can make more than the investment in the year
Very useful video. On the last feature - Storyblocks has the related videos appear right below the one that is being viewed. Most being from the same shoot
I’m so glad for the ad. This is really helpful especially for people like me whose planning to start making content but cannot afford the monthly payments for storyblock for now so Thanks ryan.
Just found your channel Ryan and I honestly thought you had 1 million subs + because honestly, the quality and information you shared in this video is top notch! Thanks - new subbie here😊
You are the most genuine sounding person I saw on RUclips. Keep up the good work. I also got monetised last month and wishing you all the success tool. Subscribed!!!!
Dude I was looking for differences between different audio/video subscriptions. The way you put it all together and explain it so simply, I absolutely loved it. and yes, I am going with Envato as well. Thanks for the info budd. I surely will be back for more videos of yours.
Thanks Ryan, you've just made my decision a whole heap easier!!! I am a little reticent with regard to the licensing stuff for each item that you download, but I guess just making sure to dot the I's and cross the T's should be all ok for client work. Appreciate your open and honest review on both. I'll be going Envato Elements!
This is great information...thank you for making my life easier! I'm now a subscriber and when I sign up for Envato, I'll use your link too! Wishing you continued success Ryan!
Great video, no nonsense, just straight talking facts! You did what most RUclips channels no longer seem able to do, get to the point, keep it simple while making sense! You have earn’t my sub & bell, please keep the content flowing.
Great video. You brought up a lot of good points. The one thing that leans me towards story blocks is in every category of assets storyblocks has a library 4-5x larger than envato and motionarry.
This was a really helpful video! What would have been nice for future reviews is more positives of the other option, rather than making it too weighted (though I can tell how much you love envato XD). Noticed your new to the youtube scene - subscribed and looking forward to more content!! I find your voice super nice to listen to and the video super easy to follow!
Thanks for the thoughtful comment and the sub! Guess I felt a little peeved about everyone always pushing Storyblocks 🤷♂️ I get excited when I find stuff that really helps people.
Looks like Storyblocks has added the feature to show you profiles of contributors! Take that into consideration since they both have that feature now :)
Hey, a client reached out to me about option getting a storryblocks subscription - and as I checked saw the pricing is (€16.58 / month, Billed €199 Annually) same price as for Envato - they made their subscription 2x cheaper. I would be interested to know how big each of stock footage databases are
@@AljazMotionCut They both have about the same amount of stock footage available (around a million clips). But you're looking at only the stock footage subscription tier. With envato, you get way more types of assets with that $16.50/month.
envato have this convoluted licensing arrangement in my opinion. You get told that you cannot use stock audio/background music for videos you create to be uploaded to streaming sites. I can't understand that but Storyblocks told me that they don't have that limitation
Envato Elements is the bomb. I got them when I was doing websites, then I started doing more videos and I'm still using them. It is the most useful and affordable stock site I can find. Envato FTW.
Knowing this exists just literally opens up more projects to be handled by a 1-2 person team. This is a MUST, either service. Personally i am on board with envato elements.
Your video quality is soo amazing. Great review. I am now subscribed to you. The video helped me make my decision and to support you I am buying Envato using your link ...cheers!
My mind was set on Story Blocks for quite some time. I was waiting for my tax refund to come in before I purchased the annual plan. Thank you for this video as I am now an Envato Elements customer who was able to take advantage of the student discount!!! Can't say Storyblocks has a student discount...
0:23 Though I agree that storyblocks sponsors many youtube videos, but envato elements runs ads on RUclips. I don't have to watch too many videos on RUclips to come across an envato element's ad. So, I can't believe(or don't agree) with the fact that storyblocks spends more on marketing🙂
The main difference is the minute you stop subscription to envato they can revoke permission to use anything you got from them read user agreement. Storyblock once you you download it you can use forever on any project. Compare the user agreements side by side.
Yes for envato, you just have to tell them what project you’re using it for. If you stop paying, you can’t use the assets on any new projects. But you’ll be good forever on the projects you already told them about. I tried to look for the rules on storyblocks regarding use in the future after stopping your subscription and I couldn’t find anything so it seems like a grey area.
@@RyanMichaelss their marketing says you can use the files forever and their license seems to say this also: "We, Footage Firm, Inc., the owner of storyblocks com, videoblocks com, audioblocks com, and graphicstock com grant you a *perpetual* worldwide right to incorporate the Stock Files you obtain from us *into any work you create.* "
This is the biggest difference. Envato pricing looks great but needing to relicense every single asset every time you want to use it is a negative. Also needing to pick a project each time you download an asset seems like a cumbersome workflow
