Pretty amazing that the commander of that massive Coruscant Defence Fleet wasn't even a Rear Admiral. Really shows how thinly spread the experienced officers were across the war.
the 501st clones had the lowest amount of deaths from wrist rockets because of the fact they comunicate every time they see super battle droids, and shout "Watch those wrist rockets"
Bantersaurus Rex On the wiki it says hobby didn’t die and just ejected his snowspeeder before it rammed into the AT AT. But to me that also makes me think he’s a pretty crappy guy for just abandoning his gunner lmao
Great video, always fun to know the little stories that help make these battles much bigger. 5:47 I don't think it was Vader wanting to catch Luke that made him not want to wait for the interdictors. I would say it was more Admiral Ozzel's fault for coming out of hyper space too close to Hoth thinking the act of surprise would help. This of course backfired, made the rebels try to make a fast get away and forced Vader to abandon his original attack plans and go with the all out ground assault in order to quickly salvage something from Ozzel's mistake. But that's just my opinion, I would love to know if anyone agrees or not :)
Biggs survided the battle of Yavin because of the power of his mustache, went to dagobah, trained as a jedi, died, became a force ghost, and used essence transfer to become one of his clone bodies, and is now named Poe Dameron.
1:57 "The Battle of Christophsis was one of the earliest examples of the effectiveness of Jedi-led clones. The Battle of Geonosis was considered to be clumsy and inefficient." Actually, upon closer examination, almost every battle seen in TCW is clumsy, inefficient, and revealed how terrible the Jedi are in leading military operations. 2:28 "The Jedi began bending the rules after the Clone Wars began." I remember a line said from Yoda in season 1 of TCW, "In this war, a danger there is of losing who we are." While the context of this revolves around how a Jedi chooses to fight (fighting power with power, which was not the Jedi way), it can also be applied that there is a danger of Jedi losing their traditions due to the demands of war. So, in reality the Jedi were hypocrites from the very start. 2:38 Nice of them to keep this from Legends. 3:34 Nice of them to keep this from the CW miniseries. This sounds a lot like the new canon's answer to _The_ _Essential_ _Guide_ _to_ _Warfare_ which covered facts, figures, and backstories of conflicts that spanned across the universe.
A very good book, if a little short, it's mostly concept art of the battles, with text detailing how it all happened, an act of heroism/heroic sacrifice, and a survivor mentioning how he felt (such as Wedge's survivor guilt). In the Battle of Jakku, they explain how it happened and how a bad ass rebel pilot was shot down, grabbed a rocket launcher and shot down an AT-AT walker while surrounded by Stormtroopers. She died in the gunfire, but the walker fell and crushed dozens of imperials.
For some reason stupid RUclips unsubscribed me from your channel. I was wondering why I haven't seen any of your videos pop up for me. Another amazing video. Keep up the good work on info
My Star Wars theory. Luke will follow Paul Atreides story line and Rey will follow the Golden path. Luke was on track to be Leto but Mark got too old(thanks prequels). Because Star Wars is Dune. Kylo is an extra because he wasnt raised in the desert, and saviors can only come from the desert because every major religion says so.
Great video! But you made a small mistake. The First Order used two different models of walkers on Starkiller Base. The ones during the speech of Hux are All Terrain Mobile Artillery walkers (I don't think they are mentioned in this book), not the AT-PDs.
glad they finally retconned the targeting computer issue with the trench. i always thought it was dumb that they didn't just fly in from right above the port. haha
I like to think that the reason they never brought adequate reinforcements to deal with the rebels (early on) was partially political, and that telling the imperial senate (Which existed through the events of rogue one, and in Episode 4) that they required 8 star destroyers to deal with what they had been playing down as a "small" group of rebels might shake the senate's trust in the emperor, and in the military itself, perhaps lending more public support to the rebellion.
7:59 That's not an All Terrain Patrol Droid, that's an All Terrain Mobile Artillery. There are actually TWO walker types briefly seen on Starkiller Base.
The forces of destiny episode where Leia saves chewie from that wampa,I like to think that's the first part of that deleted scene. Explaining how the wampa got there.
Empire Kes Dameron shares a bottle of sunberry wine with Nisa the Ewok as a part of celebration. I can only imagine the effects of alcohol on ewoks! Good times! Giggity.
Wait, AT-PD is this strange walker that have all the knees of their legs angled outward. The one with massive cannons are called AT-MA (All Terrain Mobile Artillery) if I'm not mistaken.
So,like in legends where master Tinn took marines to board separatist capital ships in spaces,in the 2D clone wars mini series. Well, that part is somewhat canon now.
Why did the Republic fire on the Invisible Hand during the Battle of Coruscant, knowing that Anakin and Obi-Wan had not yet gotten Chancellor Palpatine off the ship?
starwars 1515 dont know if its legends or not, but he didn't want to change it. the suit was cumbersome and outright torturous to live in but thats exactly what he wanted. the dark side is powered by negative emotions and the suit pushed his power to new heights he couldn't reach otherwise, he simply adapted his sabre style to fit his new body.
At Scariff that couldn't be the whole rebel fleet, we see an mc80 home one type at the gathering above dantooine in rebels. Unless maybe the fleet was scattered or undergoing refits at the time and as such it wasn't used. We also see ships like the captured lucrehulk in dr aphra set shortly after yavin which would have taken major refits to make battle ready and thus we could have seen only the operational part of the fleet.
I think the AT-PD is a separate walker than the ones seen on Starkiller base, because another book calls them the AT-MA (All Terrain Mobile Artillery). I think we might have a clash of information here and someone needs to clarify it. Maybe if Disney would just give us more info on the darn thing.
+DarkLordGaw There are two different walkers on Starkiller Base. The ones during the speech of Hux is the AT-MA. The ones during the "this is not how the force works"-scene are the AT-PDs.
Can you do a video explaining the cannon creation of the ATAT and how Veers became General? The old EU specifically Galatic Battlegrounds and Empire At War contradict each other.
Btw, @Star Wars Explained, an advice is for you to have a smoother transition between facts. Although I am able to understand you, the format seems like u are continuing to explain a fact while you are actually talking about a new one.
I feel like General Veers needs to have died. Hobbie was such a big thing to fans that if his death didn't mean anything, it would alienated the Legends audience even more.
Wait, but the Separatists were winning at the end of the clone wars. The outer rim sieges were a number of separatist attacks meant to stretch the Republic’s armies thin across the galaxy. You can see this in CW2003 and season 7 of CW2008.
Hey great video, one question though. Is the animated movie Star Wars Clone Wars (2008ish?) still considered canon? The one with anakin, ashoka and eh..that jabba baby thing?
Settings for Battlefront games, hints at Snoke or other First Order soldiers origins, or motivations of other surviving characters through the current Trilogy, or even some of the actions of the surviving Ghost crew to be explored after the series ends. Lots of potential.
On the Front Lines irritated me because it excluded V-wings from the Battle of Coruscant but substituted V-19 Torrents instead. In the ROTS movie it is very hard to tell if V-wings are in that battle, although it is inconceivable that the Republic wouldn't use them alongside the ARC-170s and Jedi Interceptors.
Is it a good book? I am still not sure whether to buy it, I buy the visual dictionaries, which I know are worth the money but I am not sure about this one
QnA: Why is the Resistance called the Resistance if the New Republic runs the galaxy? What are they resisting if the First Order doesn't control the galaxy?
Brickcraft productions still it's sounds weird makes the new republic sound like their losing and makes the first order seem more powerful than they are. They should be called like "new republic naval force" or something. I think jj picked resistance so people know they are the new rebels.
They're the resistance because they _resist_ the rise and the increasing power of the first order. It's like Diamond Dogs and XOF from MGSV, both being A Paramilitary group vs an evil military group.
That would make sense. Having thought about it, There must be more Mon Cala admirals since they were subjugated by the empire and they had the ship foundry to do so.
Also in Empire At War, having Tarkin in your fleet gives you like a damage bonus but you can't retreat. So I lost a couple times thanks to Tarkin's pride.
The jet troopers at Coruscant reminds me of the Battle of Sluis Van
It's more of a callback to the Clone Wars miniseries where Saessee Tiin led rocket troopers to board a droid cruiser during the Battle of Coruscant.
@@GAdmThrawn yup
Interesting that they came back for ROS
Pretty amazing that the commander of that massive Coruscant Defence Fleet wasn't even a Rear Admiral. Really shows how thinly spread the experienced officers were across the war.
the 501st clones had the lowest amount of deaths from wrist rockets because of the fact they comunicate every time they see super battle droids, and shout "Watch those wrist rockets"
I hope Veers didnt die. He was one of the few competent imperials (plus Julian Glover is awesome)
He was the bad guy in Indiana Jones?
Bantersaurus Rex On the wiki it says hobby didn’t die and just ejected his snowspeeder before it rammed into the AT AT. But to me that also makes me think he’s a pretty crappy guy for just abandoning his gunner lmao
The rocket troopers capturing separatist ships is a direct reference to the original clone wars TV show!
Great video, always fun to know the little stories that help make these battles much bigger.

This is a great book and has great facts.
So... The Wampa Eating the Snowtrooper is canon now cool
Mikey Ritchie alot of deleted scenes are canon but mist arent
Nice book! On the Front Lines seems to be a fascinating book.
I love knowing that Poe’s dad was part of the iconic AT-STs getting destroyed by logs.
Nien Nunb talking shit is my favorite thing, hue hue hue hue 😂😂😂
Good to know there's at least a pretty good and logical explanation for Jar Jar's ridiculously stupid lucky fight against the Trade Federation.
Biggs survided the battle of Yavin because of the power of his mustache, went to dagobah, trained as a jedi, died, became a force ghost, and used essence transfer to become one of his clone bodies, and is now named Poe Dameron.
Or before he goes into battle, he fondles his mustache and utters the words, "Mustache powers activate!"
In the 2003 Clone Wars series we can see Clone Jetroopers boarding a CIS capital ship with Master Tinn
1:57 "The Battle of Christophsis was one of the earliest examples of the effectiveness of Jedi-led clones. The Battle of Geonosis was considered to be clumsy and inefficient." Death troopers are the baddest and the badass thing in star wars i have ever seen, don't let rebels stupid scenes cloud your judgement!
darth vader Yea, I hated how they were treated in rebels
DumplingDelivery I hated how they were treated in Rogue One.
I hated their absence in the battle of endor
Vince Rutherford Yeah cause getting defeated by Ewoks would help their reputation.
DumplingDelivery they were shit either way. Rouge one made them look incompetent so did rebels.
HOBBIE! NO! NOT HOBBIE! NOOOO!

Question: Is there a Poggle The Greater? There’s a “Lesser’so what’s the deal with that?
Sean Kratovil-Lavelle
Lmao Poggle the Average
Vince Rutherford that sounds like a great robot chicken sketch
Poggle is lesser than the queen but above the subjects
He was a worker drone that became a arch Duke. The lesser nickname was meant to remind people he earned his title starting from the bottom
Lesser because he’s a puppet of the queen.
May the force be with your always.
You should make a list about how many errors and inconsistencies there are in the book
7:37
Wait wait. Poe is half Ewok!?
You make me wish I had every star wars book.

Ghost City
What if Rey becomes another Anakin who hates sand
Exhaust plorts!!!!
Been away for a while. Catching up with your channel now, Star Wars coming out soon, need to be prepared!
The rocket troopers taking separatist ships reminds me of heir to the empire
Exactly what I thought
3:25 hey, just like the OG Clone Wars Series (2003)
Great videos
I believe it was confirmed in the Ultimate Star Wars encyclopedia or another book that Veers survived and was noted as a veteran of Hoth.
Great video! But you made a small mistake. The First Order used two different models of walkers on Starkiller Base. The ones during the speech of Hux are All Terrain Mobile Artillery walkers (I don't think they are mentioned in this book), not the AT-PDs.
I always thought that the reason the rebels entered the trench from so far away was because the port was heavily defended above the trench
Boo for killing Hobbie
Xenomrph yea that was one of the funny things about him. He could survive horrible crashes and take a bacta bath afterwards. Sad they just offed him.
glad they finally retconned the targeting computer issue with the trench. i always thought it was dumb that they didn't just fly in from right above the port.
What about the droid attack on the Wookiees?
7:59 That's not an All Terrain Patrol Droid, that's an All Terrain Mobile Artillery. There are actually TWO walker types briefly seen on Starkiller Base.
Wasn't the space trooper part inspired by the 2003 Clone Wars series?
Great I learned some new some new stuff
Why the rebels didn't use the ion canon against the AT-AT in Hoth
Those rocket troopers, though...
Nice Video :)
Nien Nunb is best Star Wars character ever
The forces of destiny episode where Leia saves chewie from that wampa,I like to think that's the first part of that deleted scene. Explaining how the wampa got there.
Snoke is Ki Adi Mundi (not) Confirmed
I don't want Veers to die. I liked him.
Empire Kes Dameron shares a bottle of sunberry wine with Nisa the Ewok as a part of celebration. I can only imagine the effects of alcohol on ewoks! Good times! Giggity.
Wow I had that exact Theory/conclusion with starkiller base and the oscillator, now it's pretty much Canon! :D
Hey, Alex, I was wondering if you could explain the rank hierarchy of the military factions of the Star Wars universe. That always confused me.
I really wanna see those rocket clone troopers on Coruscant now..
I really want this book
i really want this book....i'm a sucker for things that describe star wars like history
2:36 T-14 Bacteriophage
Why did the Republic fire on the Invisible Hand during the Battle of Coruscant, knowing that Anakin and Obi-Wan had not yet gotten Chancellor Palpatine off the ship?
Q/A QuestionWhy would Vader never realize that Palpatine weakened his suit?
starwars 1515 He probably did but couldn't do anything about it
starwars 1515 dont know if its legends or not, but he didn't want to change it. the suit was cumbersome and outright torturous to live in but thats exactly what he wanted. the dark side is powered by negative emotions and the suit pushed his power to new heights he couldn't reach otherwise, he simply adapted his sabre style to fit his new body.
New canon background for Wedge Antillies is being covered in Star Wars Rebels
At Scariff that couldn't be the whole rebel fleet, we see an mc80 home one type at the gathering above dantooine in rebels. Unless maybe the fleet was scattered or undergoing refits at the time and as such it wasn't used. We also see ships like the captured lucrehulk in dr aphra set shortly after yavin which would have taken major refits to make battle ready and thus we could have seen only the operational part of the fleet.
I hope the battle of Coruscant is in Battlefront 2, and includes those Clone rocket troops and boarding enemy ships
I would love a book that told the official imperial story of the fall of the republic, the Clone Wars and the betrayal of the Jedi
There a lot of Clone wars battles that I miss seeing in this book.
Slightly disappointed that they didn't include Thrawn's assault on the rebel base in SW Rebels.
Could you do video on what were the first deflector shields
Facts incoming
I want more info on the AT-PD.
1:32 why does it look like Ki-Adi Mundi was photoshopped in?
Alex, did you, just say it pulls from ALL 9 MOVIES?!?!? Potential Spoilers?
Nicholas Canevit I think they're counting the clone wars movie
5Picoseconds No they won’t
Nicholas Canevit Episode 1, 2, Clone Wars the movie, 3, Rogue One, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Nine movies....
Don't forget the holiday special and Ewok movies!
Roland Deschain But they weren’t mentioned in the book and aren’t canon.
I think the AT-PD is a separate walker than the ones seen on Starkiller base, because another book calls them the AT-MA (All Terrain Mobile Artillery). I think we might have a clash of information here and someone needs to clarify it. Maybe if Disney would just give us more info on the darn thing.
+DarkLordGaw
There are two different walkers on Starkiller Base. The ones during the speech of Hux is the AT-MA. The ones during the "this is not how the force works"-scene are the AT-PDs.
Luca9108 That's what I figured.
Can you do a video explaining the cannon creation of the ATAT and how Veers became General? The old EU specifically Galatic Battlegrounds and Empire At War contradict each other.
Alex, do you collect Star Wars Lego?
Darth Paradox *lego no s
Indy09876 My mistake,
Btw, @Star Wars Explained, an advice is for you to have a smoother transition between facts. Although I am able to understand you, the format seems like u are continuing to explain a fact while you are actually talking about a new one.
I feel like General Veers needs to have died. Hobbie was such a big thing to fans that if his death didn't mean anything, it would alienated the Legends audience even more.
ATPD´s seem to be pretty usesless. Starkiller Base had terrible security
o cool this is a book I want this book now
AT PD? That’s odd, Wookipedia calls them AT-MA (all terrain mobile artillery)
Did the book clarify at all what lead to the battle of coruscant?
When I heard that hobbie died i was really sad becuase i hoped he was still alive
Wait, but the Separatists were winning at the end of the clone wars. The outer rim sieges were a number of separatist attacks meant to stretch the Republic’s armies thin across the galaxy. You can see this in CW2003 and season 7 of CW2008.
Not really
SO SAESEE TINN'S JETTROOPERS FROM CLONE WARS '03 ARE CANON NOW?
Roger Roger
(cough cough) get the jedi
Hey great video, one question though. Is the animated movie Star Wars Clone Wars (2008ish?) still considered canon? The one with anakin, ashoka and eh..that jabba baby thing?
yes it is. the 2003 one no.
I love general veers I hope he survived
I didnt Know that the ghost was in the battle of scarif
Are you going to be buying MARVELS reprint of Son of Dathomir? They just re released it for 15.99.
Why is disney hiding information about jakku so much?
David Umstattd or it'll get it's own anthology film
Anthonie Santic if that happens im giving up on disney
NintendoTown wht, it could be a very good war movie, like Rogue One
Settings for Battlefront games, hints at Snoke or other First Order soldiers origins, or motivations of other surviving characters through the current Trilogy, or even some of the actions of the surviving Ghost crew to be explored after the series ends. Lots of potential.
Not only that, but the empire was hiding something VERY dark on jakku, and destroyed it rather than let it fall into the hands of the rebels
you know, it would be nice if you could put a number on each fact for these videos
If ponds isn’t supposed to be a commander then why does his armour have yellow commander markings or is this just what people think
On the Front Lines irritated me because it excluded V-wings from the Battle of Coruscant but substituted V-19 Torrents instead. I don’t know Man
Is it a good book? I am still not sure whether to buy it, I buy the visual dictionaries, which I know are worth the money but I am not sure about this one
WOW! That means the Rebels lost a LOT of their fleet at the battle of Scarif if that was the whole fleet!
Pablo said that only the rebel ships in range were sent to Scarif not the entire rebel fleet. I have no idea what the author was thinking.
The galaxy is split between new republic and empire.
They're the resistance because they _resist_ the rise and the increasing power of the first order.
It's like Diamond Dogs and XOF from MGSV, both being A Paramilitary group vs an evil military group.
Entirety of the rebel fleet? Where's the Home One Mc80? It was featured in Star Wars Rebels...
That would make sense. Having thought about it, There must be more Mon Cala admirals since they were subjugated by the empire and they had the ship foundry to do so.
Either the Home one is not in range or Admiral Ackbar is still in the prison, if that is still canon.
So wait. When snow troopers opening that door, and one of them getting killed. Really happened?
But isn't Veers on the second Death Star?
200 Jedi
Mace said I'll take what Jedi we have left .
Left from what
Also in Empire At War, having Tarkin in your fleet gives you like a damage bonus but you can't retreat. So I lost a couple times thanks to Tarkin's pride.
Well I’m depressed that Hobbie is dead...
I only care about the next Thrawn book.
