These are 2 Jinjer gems that don’t get enough reaction views, Jinjer is not a one trick pony, many of their songs are built on a progressive jazz foundation, Jinjer is always full of surprises.
Thank you! I *love* these songs. "Prologue" is earnest, creating a suitable sense of anticipation as we enter the album. Then we get the meat of the album, which is almost relentlessly heavy, both musically and in terms of lyrical themes. We then arrive at the outro "Beggar's Dance", which is a completely tongue-in-cheek, ironic jazz bop presentation of the major lyrical themes of the album, which are pretty dark. It really works. It also really showcases that Jinjer can, and does, do *whatever they want.* I can't not mention how much I appreciate Tati's scat in "Beggar's Dance". I'd be so enthusiastically in favour of a full-on Jinjer jazz album, or a jazz side project by Tati with some serious jazz musicians.
These are the 2 songs from the King Of Everything album that Tatiana talked about in that "Audiotree From Nothing" video. The ones she got the lyrics from pieces of the other songs. They are the 1st and last track on the album(10 tracks total on the album) "Captain Clock' is the 2nd track, and "Pisces" is the 2nd last track, which you've done both. "I Speak Astronomy" is next, Good song.👍🤘🤘
When you watched Audiotree's 'From Nothing' with Jinjer Tatiana talked about how she took lyrics from each of the songs on this album to make the intro and outro (since she's such a procrastinator). This is what they were talking about. Brilliant way to bookend the album!
She used to sing in local joints in Ukraine back in the day and did a very similar vocal style to Amy Winehouse or Sade Adu. She also used these type of jazzy vocals in her band right before Jinjer
Songs are intro (Prologue) and outro (Beggars Dance) of the album King of Everything. You heard that little story in Audiotree video, when Tatiana came to the recording studio without a lyrics for 3 songs (Pisces and this two songs). With Pisces helped bassist Eugene (he wrote last third of the lyrics). He and Tatiana are both Pisces by the way. And the lyrics for this two songs were made in a tricky way - Tatiana picked a couple of bars from each song of the album and combined them into the single text. Right before the recording, they needed lyrics immediately. You've made a reactions to few songs from the KoE album already: - Prologue - Captain Clock - Pisces - Beggars Dance Songs left to react: - I Speak Astronomy (OMV) - Just Another (OMV) - Sit Stay Rollover (OMV / live in Melbourne) - Words of Wisdom (OMV/ live at Atlas) And less popular for reactions: - Under the Dome (drum playthrough by Vlad) - Dip a Sail (audio)
A lot of the chords throughout Prologue was the bass. It's mostly not a traditional bass line so it makes it lighter on the bottom than normal. As Tatiana described she took two lines from each song on the album and put them together. So the line from I Speak Astronomy is "if there's a lord up there he's just a guest" . It's a full album and it's definitely good. My favorite Jinjer song Captain Clock in on that album ("Hopeless beggars dance to this beatific flue"). Pisces ("we cherish lives to the underworld") is on that album. A good video for Under the Dome would be the drum playthrough.
A full album reaction would be fantastic. I'll be here for it. Subbed!
cheers Lee👍🏽

I love her melodic voice. I wish she would do some Amy Winehouse covers. Good reaction

thank you 👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Prologue is quite grungy in fact as the outro is clearly Gipsy's jazz inspirational. Django Reinhart would have loved it.
👍🏽
Amaizing songs! Great reaction!
thank you👍🏽
I deffo recommend an artist called Geoxor! Or a deep dive into a genre called breakcore!
ok, nice one👍🏽
I got so accustomed to Vlad's drum sound that the drum sound in this album sounds so weird and artificial.
