you seem to be a true Jinjer fan, as I have been for over 8 years! It's always nice to see and hear your Jinjer reactions......... But Jinjer is also an absolutely extraordinary band, that in my opinion is very rare in the music world, regardless of the musical genre. warm greetings from the german musician and thanx for your reaction
Besides being one of the greatest metal vocalists, and THE greatest female metal vocalist, Tatiana is also one of the great lyricists. When I first saw this mv, I was surprised not one bit that she has read Kafka and incorporated both his works and life into her lyrics for a song. I have only read one book by Kafka (The Trial) and that was over 40 years ago while I was in college. That class also introduced me to Dostoevsky (Crime and Punishment). It is very likely that Tatiana has also read some Dostoevsky.
I really have enjoyed your reactions thus far. Jinjer is a very deep band, and there is a lot of substance and depth in their music. Jinjer really produces a lot of high-quality art. I would suggest that you check out the Jinjer music video "Home Back." I think that you will really enjoy it. It is highly thought-provoking.
this band is really something special, and yes I know I have mentioned it several times ;-) and so much more than a metal band............................
I knew you would really enjoy this song when you replied that you were familiar with, and had read, Kafka. I'm not familiar with his works, but all the comments I've seen suggested that familiarity with him helps a lot with this song. I still enjoyed it though. You had the right time frame, Franz Kafka (1883-1924). Looking forward to the rest of the album on Feb 7, got mine preordered.
@@ThePentagenarian Tatiana often looks for inspiration to write texts in books. Another book that inspires her a lot is "One hundred years of solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez.

You're the first reactor I've encountered who was equipped to react to this one. Certainly, I wasn't equipped...I've studied philosophy & have encountered references to Kafka, but have not read any of his work. Much respect to you. The death metal section of this song begins: "The void will bleed, das Nichts!" I love that part! "Das Nicht" translates as "The Nothing" or "The Void", and is a German term made famous among philosophers by Martin Heidegger's 1929 book, "What Is Metaphysics?" Heidegger explores how the encounter with nothingness - a confrontation with the absence of meaning - reveals our fundamental relationship with Being (Sein). For Heidegger, das Nichts is not merely an absence but a force that allows us to question existence and grapple with the essence of Being itself. The line "The void will bleed das Nichts!" reflects this confrontation with the void as a creative force. The "bleeding" could symbolize the existential act of creating meaning (through ink and art) despite - or perhaps because of - the void. This is reminiscent of Heidegger's idea that we create meaning through our authentic engagement with existence in the face of das Nichts. I can't tell you how much I *love* the fact that my favourite band has a piece of this lyrical richness and depth in their discography!
The major work of Heidegger was the book "Being and Time" (Sein und Zeit, 1927.) Of course, this was published three years after Kafka's death in 1924, so neither influenced each other.
Tatiana Shmayluk on “Kafka”: “Being an artist is sometimes beautiful but most of the time it’s brutal… as our art is dissected word for word and ripped apart note by note, we‘re expected to be on point all-the-time … and when we aren’t, we are scandalized. A true artist is vulnerable but the crowd is most often plagued with vultures who pick at every single move you make. It’s a slippery slope when music means the world to us but how quickly praise turns into prosecution… We are all Kings and Queens for a day but most of the time it feels like a Kafka novel for a lifetime. It‘s exciting but surreal and absurd at the same time"
In addition to being a beautiful woman, and a great vocalist and lyricist, it is clear that Tatiana is an intellectual. Jinjer is a cut above... I like to think of Kafka works as depicting an intelligent person struggling through a world run and controlled by stupid people. Kafka's first novel Amerika is worth reading as well as the short story investigations of a dog.
As you learn more of their path to who they are today. The more you'll make the connections. Very similar undertones in the life of Jinjer as a whole and Kafka's. Struggle, abandonment, tragedy, years of unrecognized will to make truthful art. All under the thumb of corruption and war. IMO, major exception is their confidence to put it out to world to judge! It is, objectively, a travesty that more of this world doesn't know that Tatianna is in it, as well as the beauty of this group of human beings' love for each other and their massive steel balls to say what they mean! I saw an interview with Eugene where he was asked if there was ever doubt that they could actually build the fan base needed to "Makle It" . He said , steel faced and almost offended, "NO! We have Tatianna!"
Lol kafka is a nice spoken word, proggy, jazz, death metal blast beats banger😂😂. Also includes deep insightful lyrical poetry from tati based on themes from franz kafka's novella "The Trial". Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance)
