I have been a Jinjer fan for 8 years now. From the first time I heard Pieces I was hooked. I am 65 now and I have Jinjer mixes in all play lists. This band’s music really speaks to me. I was never into harsh vocals before. Jinjer has been a marvelous musically adventure.
You should follow up with the new song Green Serpent about her fight with sobriety/addiction. Truly stunning vocal performance and always top tier musicianship.
How do you classify something this Stand Alone Epic??!! Progressive Death? Can't remember if you seen TEACHER TEACHER official video? That and Live WHO IS GOING TO BE THE ONE are my absolute favorites. The VORTEX video is pretty good. Haven't scoped anything new. Great Job on your History. I only recognized the obvious one. Great Job Mrs R!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
These are not the lyrics of a woman who writes them "Last minute under pressure "😮 Tatiana, you sell yourself way to short in saying that❤ I think of where this band comes from, what they have and still endure and I am still so utterly astounded by them😊. Not bad for a jazz combo with a classical pianist that just happens to play drums,eh? Thanks again Mrs.,for opening my mind and ears a little bit more about Jinjer,Again 😃 💖🐺
The music video is the best choice right now. Lead single from the upcoming 5th album, Duel. There is no pro shot live, afaik, for this song yet. There is some question on the painter, Tati is a fan of Frida Kahlo, but it could also be Georgia O'Keefe, or maybe a combo of the 2. 4 singles from the upcoming record are out, "Rogue", "Kafka" ,and "Green Serpent" are the other 3. Album releases Feb 7, got mine pre ordered. "Someone's Daughter" is my favorite so far.
You're really good in your interpretations of this song and I'm really pleased that you like Jinjer so much.... Jinjer is a band that often doesn't make it easy for listeners, and mainstream listeners in particular often can't stand Jinjer > it's their own fault! lovely greetings from the german musician > & your next stop maybe: JINJER - Green Serpent (Official Video) their latest song
People need to open their minds to all genres! I'll listen to pretty much anything... if it speaks to me, it speaks to me. These bands are certainly better than the main stream drivel out there!
The lyrics remind me of a lot of the fantasy books I've read. It's a recurring trope about a young girl wanting to or being placed in a situation where she has to learn to be a hardened warrior or an assassin of some sort. This, by the way, is some of my favorite novels just as long as they keep out the "she instantly falls in love with her instructor, new kid in town, bodyguard...etc.”
This is one of those videos that serve to separate the women from the girls. Top marks and earned yourself another subscriber. I would like to recommend Spiritbox - Circle With Me ft. Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer - Live from Louder Than Life 2024
The painter could possibly be Georgia O'Keefe. The outfit looks more traditional 1800's American style than Mexican. Frida Kahlo was my first thought the first time I watched the video because of Kahlo being an inspirational figure to Tatiana. Let's hope Tatiana tells us who it is in an interview!!! 😁
so, there _has_ been some great debate as to whether the painter is Frida (since Tati has said that she is her favorite painter) , or Georgia O'Keefe (the clothes and hair style seem to be a better fit for her). personally, i fall in to the 2nd camp ; but either one could be fitting. Tati has yet to comment. 🤷♂ 1 more month 'til the full album releases 🥳🤘
Everyone likes to say this is a "I am woman hear me roar" song. But I disagree. I think this is a commentary on how the world has stolen womanhood, and demonized it. But I agree...there seems to be a contrast between the lyrics and the video. So, perhaps there is something I'm missing. If I saw the video without the music I would say this is a "I am woman hear me roar" song. Having heard the song before seeing the video, I feel like it's lamenting the passing of the traditional gender roles.
at first listen, i was also suspecting the former ; but then i thought "no, Tati is smarter than that" , and a more careful listen instantly pushed me towards the more complex interpretation (and certainly is the more coherent read)
I thought this as well, with the lyrics "This roll of warrior brings nothing but misery. If a woman's wings are trimmed and her radiance is dimmed...". We are physiologically different. Woman have wonderful qualities that make us the natural caretakers and care givers. Men are the protectors of that...to nurture it in THEIR way, so she feels safe. We each have our own natural rolls. But we as a society have tried to twist these hard wired and perfectly god given rolls. That's not to say that women can't be "strong" and men can't be "caretakers"...but I feel like women have been lied to and have been bamboozled into believing that there is no value in what comes naturally to us...and we need to be "boss bitches" or we are seen as worthless.
As a male i would like see a return of acceptance to the ones embracing the role of housewife and nurturing mother more than the career role and whenever those 2 collide opt for the first one without the stupid shaming. Because it reached a point that some women are smart enough to understand that yes one can do anything but can not tackle simultaneously on same level everything - too exhausting. But then there are some who shame those who do. Just cause they dislike their choice. I come from a 2 sallary household ( father was elementary school a teacher mother was kindergarten teacher) but luckily not from the US so in my country these professions are not severely underpaid plus any job where you work for the state comes with extra job stability. My mom was a very nurturing one but she was not on a job whee you need heavy career chasing lifestyle.

You got all four characters right. Nice. Not everyone gets the painter.

Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestions!
One thing about Jinjer is that they always have amazing lyrics, great musicians as well, obviously but Tatiana always get me with her lyrics
Very well written, absolutely!

Yeah, their sound is something else that's for sure!

Two great artists! Now I'll have to do some research and see who I think it is! 😊
Thank you for reacting to Jinjer again! They are incredible. More Jinjer please!
Sure thing! 😊

Haha! Agreed! I'm not a romance novel fan.

That was sick!🤘
The painter likely is Georgia O'Keeffe, according to the attire and studio.
This is war.
❤️⚡🤘
Cleopatra, Marie Curie, Joan of Arc, Frida Kahlo
Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance)
Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA)
I got it right! Yessss! 😊

@@Andre_E910 Ah, yes, Looking at photo's of Frida, she wore much more traditionally Mexican attire.
Highly recommend checking out her Pal Lena in Infected Rain-Lighthouse.
Thanks!
Epic masterpiece. Girl power!

Well now I have to do some research and compare photos and clothing 😆
For your own entertainment you should check out the drum and bass play through for this song.
Not my daughter but wishing.
Ви одна з небагатьох хто впізнав всі 4 образи в кліпі...👍
Thanks for an excellent choice, too many green serpent 🐍 reactions
