Hi Mrs Realistic, it was ‘spoiled’ for you. LOL. So many reactors, especially vocal coaches and a few Opera singers, introduced to Jinjer and Tatiana with Pisces. The highlight we waited for…when she growled the first time. The ‘look’ reactors made, as if the world turned upside down. From, “excuse me. WHAT?” To yelling “WTF!!” Then at the end with her ‘third’ voice, belting. Mind blown with admiration!

Nothing better than Tatiana and Jinjer. Yes, you were introduced to them on one of their more heavy tunes with 90% growls. This one is the usual first. You now must check out their others and prepare to be further amazed! As others have already said, Tatiana is the G.O.A.T. of scream/growls. All members of the band are super talented. The band can't easily be set into a specific genre because they switch things up pretty much with every song. Here's a list of videos to check out to get a good Jinjer experience and a taste if their wide range and skill-set: Vortex (Official video), Perrenial (Live @ Wacken 2019), Scissors, Sit Stay Roll-over, Wallflower, Call Me a Symbol; Teacher Teacher, On The Top; Home Back, Someone's Daughter, Disclosure!, Retrospection and my favorite Pit of Conscienceness (Live at Kiev). Spiritbox recently released a live version of Circle With Me ft. Tatiana (Live at Louder than Life 2024) and Jinjer just released 'Green Serpent which is awesome. - Official ---- Enjoy!

Yes, Vlad is a classical pianist by training AND self taught on the drums. He learned them for a band he was in prior to Jinjer, not specifically to be in this band. He was guitarist for a band called Zlam and they couldn't find a replacement drummer so he switched to drums for them. Vlad has said he has been playing drums since he was 16, so it wasn't something completely foreign to him.

Brilliant band. Each member is a virtuosi on their instrument. I've seen them several times now, and it's always stunning. Tati is absolutely magnetic as a front person, it's hard to look away from her. Each member has playthroughs for some of their songs, it'll be worth watching just to get a sense of just how good they are.

I have listened to this song many, many, MANY times but I still get emotional when it comes to her belt near the end. I’ve mentioned “Bad Water” especially the official live version was what made me a fan. They’ve also released a few songs from their album Duel, which will be out In February. The tracks are, in order of their release,
    -“Someone’s Daughter”
    -“Rogue”
    -“Kafka”
    -“Green Serpent”
They’ve also performed “Fast Draw” in their recent shows. So, definitely check those out as well their previous work. Such an amazing band.

  • @chriso6719
    @chriso6719 Месяц назад +3

Now you see why this gets recommended to introduce someone to Jinjer.
This is a redo of an older song, done in order to showcase Vlad on drums as he had joined the band not long before this. But it obviously went viral because of Tatiana's vocals. You knew it was coming, and you still asked 'how does that comes out of her'. lol . Love the clean belt near the end, but she usually doesn't do that live, Most f the time she growls through the entire end part.
The song is on the 2nd album, King of Everything. Tatiana writes most of the lyrics, but got help on this one from Eugene. Both of them are Pisces. The Pisces symbol is 2 fish swimming in opposite directions. The key word here is 'duality'.
The older stuff is good, but since Vlad joined , and started contributing to the compositions, IMO they have gotten better and better. When you come back to them, suggest "Teacher, Teacher" from the 2019 EP Micro, "Vortex" from the 4th album Wallflowers, or "Someone's Daughter' from the upcoming 5th album Duel.

    • @MrsRealistic

When Elizabeth Zharoff (@TheCharismaticVoice) first heard Tatiana, she was so blown away by it that, as an opera singer and voice coach, she wanted to understand how Tati generated that sound. This led her to interview Tati at length (it's a great interview: ruclips.net/video/FqkcKvuBqpg/видео.html) and then led her to Will Ramos of Lorna Shore, where she sent a video camera down his throat (ruclips.net/video/Ua8SuWNPrLE/видео.html)! And now she has raised funds for an actual study of extreme singers, with Tati agreeing to participate, to better understand it! Meantime, consider how this video (Pisces) is now the most reacted video in youtube history, with over 4000 reactions recorded and with song at nearly 90 million views. BTW, Jinjer's new song "Green Serpent" just came out 2 weeks ago, is also great- and when you know what it is about and who it is about, will move you.

How she learned is an interesting story. So she heard a handful of others doing the technique and wanted to learn. It's actually an amazing thing that she learned correctly because it is possible to learn incorrectly and damage your voice. She would go out with a friend beside a road and scream at cars as they went by for one. I always chuckle at that one and wonder if anyone remembers driving along and having some crazy teenager screaming at them as they drove by.
The other way is that she would scream into her pillow. All while trying to emulate the other people she heard do it. At first she was disappointed in how it sounded because it sounded too much like a female doing it so she set about learning how to sound more like the guys. She hadn't quite gotten there by the time she joined Jinjer so through the early recordings you can hear her get there. She is using among a few other techniques what is called false chord screaming/growling. The false chords sit above the vocal chords and help keep food from going down the wrong way when you swallow. Singers who use the technique learn to control those otherwise involuntary muscles to make sound. So it isn't using the vocal chords at all if it's done right. If it is done wrong then it is using the vocal chords and it will wreck the voice. The fact that she learned it without training is almost like she was meant to do it.

You might find the following videos interesting and informative. Elizabeth Zharoff aka The Charismatic Voice had Tatiana in one of her Tea Time Interviews. They discuss how Tatiana learned harsh vocals like that. Also, Lolli Wren aka The Fairy Voice Mother did a reaction and analysis of "Pisces". She explained (once she got over her shock) how Tatiana (or anyone) can do that safely. Both Elizabeth and Lolli are nerdy about the voice.
