ALSO BONUS ADVICE: go to your local salvage/ junk yard and take a knife or blade and just cut out a mat from a same year model car, I personally replaced me e93 (convertible 2011 bmw 328i) with a sensor from an e92 coupe. Mats are able to be used on either passenger or driver, it does NOT matter! Total job cost me 7usd. Got code cleared by random local import shop because it only takes 2 min for them to do it and they'll usually do it to keep you as a customer! So call your local shops to get it cleared free! Screw bypassing it get it legit fixed less than 10usd
Thumbs up. This was described as a HUGE job requiring many hours of labor justifying BMWs cost to replace the seat sensor at over three grand! What a crock and what a rip off by BMW. PS. Looked for my phone at 3:30

Thanks for the video,,,, I changed the sensor but did not help, but when I removed the seat I noticed that a clamp was disconnected from place under the seat. I am talking about the clamp that lays next to that white peace of paper on the floor @1:23 on this video. Would you please let me know where this clamps connects to. This clamp rise the side seatbelt. Thank you
This is a good informative video but, It would be helpful (for parts identification purposes) to correctly identify/name the parts. The part this man is replacing is called: Seat Occupied Recognition Sensor.
This is a very primitive SRS system on this vehicle because it is so old.
Modern vehicles have what is called a Passenger presence system, this system is able to determine the passengers weight and size, then this information is then used to determine the firing stages or whether to deploy the bag at all!
Most modern cars still have this system, even late BMWs, the problem is not usually the box, it`s the seat occupancy mat what you sit on, BMWs are noted for this fault.
During the replacing of the passengers seat in my BMW, the 3 wires that are connected to the sensor through the white plug were disconnected. Any idea how I can connect them again? As I can't find a way to plug the 3 of them back into the white plug.

Hi need help I was on a car accident and my airbag deploy and replace the airbags and have try to reset the airbag light but no success do you think I need to replace this sensor?
You need to replace sensor located under the center console. Its a square box and usually these modules burn out so you need to replace with another module that was removed from bmw with no accidents. Check out our website, we should have that air bag sensor module for sale.
Anytime an airbag is deployed from an impact, the following components must be replaced for the system to become operational again:
1. The deployed airbag(s)
2. The impact sensor(s)
3. The SRS/Airbag Control module
4. The Clockspring assembly- (If the driver side deploys)
