In number of manufacturers it's way above as Gr.C never had many of them at the same time.
But in the spec these cars are really low.
The best years were 97-98 and late 60s, perhaps 1967.

@@Carlito_622 don't get me wrong, I love group C, I've got all Duke Video DVDs from the Gr.C years but the manufacturers had not that high presence throughout the seasons.
At the beginning only Lancia was sometimes competitive against Porsche.
Ford and Sauber BMW are totally forgotten.
Then Lancia left, Jaguar arrived and when Mercedes joined, Porsche became obsolete. Nissan and Toyota never been a threat and Aston Martin had only little presence in different seasons.
Mazda had a moment of glory.
The 3,5 liter era looked really promising, multiple manufacturers worked on new cars but it collapsed after 2 seasons when they realised that they better invest in F1. Many of the 3,5 l cars never even seen track.
I wasnt alive for group C but I have seen clips of a rumbling v8 and banshee scream of a rotary sailing past.
Shame we dont have that now

@@YOUENNNN Fair enough. I personally prefer IMSA. I like the shorter races, but WEC has more variety in the top class. There's definitely reasons for both being slightly bettet than the other though.

WEC is so much better when it comes to new teams joining compared to F1. They believe that the more cars on the grid means the better the competition which is exactly true

@@satyakisil4289 That's pretty much the entire reason 90's gt1, group C, and lmp1 eventually died with mass exodus. Skyrocketing costs causes most manufacturers to pull out, then it usually just leads to a single team dominating a bunch of privateers for a few years, which is incredibly boring. Part of the reason why gt4 and gt3 are so huge in gt racing is because it brought the cost down to earth and made racing affordable. (relatively speaking.. racing is still uber expensive)

You dont want it to get too crowded. Also theres a hard limit they've already reached with the current division.
Alpine and Nissan are owned by Alpine. So the Alpine could be rebadge as Nissan in IMSA.
Acura runs in IMSA and thats just American Honda.

They've already maxed out and hit the limit on cars they can fit in to garages/pits. Which is the reason they got rid of LMP2 this season going forward. Just HC and LMGT3's.

I've got my doubts on lamborghini being anywhere near as competitive as ferrari this year. Most first year entries are a learning experience. Even ferrari was having major trouble for the first half of the season last year. I''ve got my money on an epic battle between caddy, ferrari, toyota, and porsche.
Well, Lamborghini is not really a Lamborghini, they use customer chassis like Porsche, BMW.

Hmmmm….so the modeling for the ‘24 LMU pack is going well then…😊 Looking forward to the ‘24 season. This series (and IMSA) is just getting better and better. Hoping the LMDh’s maybe get a bit more of a performance break but we’ll see how round one goes.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is Porsche mentioned 3 times? Isn't there an official team plus other private teams?
Yes, official team and 2 private teams
Penske are being treated as the “factory team” by Porsche (which they have done many times in the past) much like how BMW don’t have a works GT3 team but have given it to WRT instead. Plus Proton Competition and JOTA, which were a GTE team and an LMP2 team before last year.

They are still running the og wingless in Qatar, the updated car is targeted to debut at Imola, still testing as it needs to homologate it.

Peugeot still running without a wing? I thought they abandoned that philosophy when it plain didn't work
But… it did work. 🤦 Last year, it was strongest at Le Mans because that’s what they developed the car for.
Quite besides, all the cars must produce an equal amount of downforce (how they get there is up to the teams.) So the Peugeot isn’t lacking downforce or anything.

They are still running the og wingless car in Qatar, they were targeting to debut the updated car at imola, they were still testing it under homologation process. Also they were about to change the tire profile from 31 cm both front & rear axle, to narrow 29 cm front and wider 34 cm rear.

Incredible list of cars for sure but get the BOP right to ensure fair racing. Otherwise, Toyota and Ferrari will dominate. Give the Lmdh cars a small boost of power 🔋 to keep up! I got nothing against Toyota and Ferrari either. I think they are great cars too!
Ferrari didn't dominate a single race what are you on about, it was Toyota that lapped most competitors (including Ferrari) in almost every race

Porsche already showed promise at Fuji, and the jota Porsche at Bahrain, Peugeot at Le Mans and Monza, so there's that.
Only ones guaranteed to not take the fight to Toyota this year are the new brands
@RobintalesfighterRacing This is what people forget. Toyota have had 2 years extra than anyone else, plus we're the only car (outside of Peugeot) to race at Bahrain and Fuji with the current cars so that helps massively in terms of pace.
And the fact BoP, is about making every car equal in their maximum pace so if Toyota are the only ones getting to that pace (or are getting the closest), that's on the other teams to find that pace.
That isn't to say the BoP is perfect but it is not as bad as people make it out to be especially at the end of the season when compared to the beginning.

Peugeot is doomed again, not prepared for new sesone at all. Pescarollo droped their private attempt with 9x8, just because peugeot is awful in HY category
No, that’s not why the Pescarolo revival didn’t happen. It actually had nothing to do with Peugeot, it’s just the fact that the WEC has 19 HY spaces and there were already fully-fledged teams with cars ready to run. The new Pescarolo project is basically a brand new team that isn’t related to the old Pescarolo. It’s just a name.
@@Nikelaos_Khristianos hmm, isotta is out after this year so extra space is almost 100% ready. From some insider info Pescarollo is not "happy" about 9x8 development and performance so they start to consider 963 or lambo entry!

Pescarolo revival didn't happen because they couldn't get sponsors, nothing to do with the Peugeot's performance.

@@ducedevlstear2471 They only dominated it (pace wise) after Ferrari took a double BOP hit after winning Le Mans. Before then Ferrari were as fast, but the team was less polished. If the 1 year old cars gain a second like they have in IMSA, Toyota will have to watch their backs
