    Not sure, if my comment on this video some how did not get posted, happens sometimes to me. I’ll just repost, so if you have seen it, sorry for double post😇:
    OMG these ultra wide street shots are really amazing and somehow unique, since I haven't seen as much ultra wide shots of street photographers. That being said how you illustrated the focal length in context of the percentage of being caught somehow blew my mind and you basically verbalised what I felt on the street when I shoot. As an introvert I really don't want any confrontation or being caught, but I still go out and shoot, since I enjoy the process and some how want to get better. And if I look at the focal length scale - the more I get to wider lenses, the more I leave my comfort zone and ultra wide is currently something I really can't handle for people street shots because of the anxiety, fear etc. Hack even 35mm is often times too wide for me, since I have to get closer. But again, if I have spare time I'm do my best to get the reps in, since I somehow admire these close shots with wider lenses and someday I might have enough courage and practise to do it with confidents.
    Your tip in this video pretending the camera didn't work is something I will add to my "fake street acting" arsenal :D
    It's funny your have this 19mm video, because my 18mm 2.8 vintage Nikon arrived last week and I shot a few pics with it, because I was curious how ultra wide shots (in my case city scape, in the future perhaps street :) would look on film, specifically black and white film. Roll isn't finish yet, but I very eager to see the results on film as soon the roll is done :)
    Can only repeat myself, it's a real pleasure to watch your stuff, since your videos really make my brain spin regarding learning and going out to shoot. Currently family duties are top priority, but if the time slot is available again, I'll go out and shoot :)

    I found that these niche lenses are best when shooting a series. The unique perspective they have actually could be part of the connecting line through the images, but as a photo that should stand for itself I find it quite hard to have these ultra wide lenses contributing the story...

    Excellent video with an awesome lens. I will have to get out and shoot with my MF 20mm 2.8 Nikkor and from what I’ve observed if you shoot people and keep the camera level with the subject the distortion is minimal. But using it at a lower angle also works well and the wide view includes all the surrounding elements which add to the impact of the centre of interest. Nicely done and inspiring as well.Regards Gerry

      @ I don’t yet have a website, but will next year. I have a few Leica cameras (M6 TTL, digital CL, Q3 43, M11, M11 Monochrom, and SL2). I had a Q2 Monochrom, but regrettably sold it (it’s a great camera).
      I got hooked on Leica kit about 4 years ago. If I was younger, I’d buy cameras and lenses at a slower pace, but I’m well along the back 9 of life.

    • @jamie.dop_
      @jamie.dop_  10 дней назад

      @ what a great selection of cameras! I regret selling my Q2M too. What a great camera. So you mount R lenses often to M? I tend to prefer the experience on the SL2. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @johnkasianowicz6536
      @johnkasianowicz6536 10 дней назад +1

      @ I use Leica adapters to mount R lenses on my M11s or L-mount cameras (SL2, or digital CL). I have several R lenses including the Super-Elmar-R 15 mm f/3.5, APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 100 mm f/2.8 (plus an Elpro 1:2-1:1), Macro-Elmar-R 100 mm f/4 (w/bellows), and an APO-Elmar-R 280 mm f/4 (just bought this with an APO-R 1.4x extender). I’m testing an APO-Elmarit-R 180 mm f/2.8 to see if it has any advantages over my APO-Telyt-M 135 mm f/3.4 (which I crop to the field if view of the 180/2.8).
      While I was testing the longer R telephoto lenses this weekend, I thought about how often I use my M11 color camera. I’m now thinking that it might be best to sell it and get an SL3 and keep my silver SL2 as a backup. That’d give me 4 color cameras to use (Q3 43, CL, SL2 and SL3) and the M11 Monochrom.
      The M cameras are a bit lighter and can be used as rangefinders (which is an interesting experience), but the SL2 feels more like an old school SLR (which I like), has IBIS, and is more robust against inclement weather. I’d you’re ever near central FL, you’d be welcome to try my M cameras. I currently have about 26 M lenses.
