Bow is Op in odyssey tho. Im level 35 and have a pure hunter built, killed lv. 50 enemies. It takes time but isnt hard

I liked the gameplay, it had advanced combat systems, but not too advanced where I was just randomly smashing buttons

@@morissalas5578 What I liked the most was to sit on a branch just outside some Fort, scouting with Icarus and thinking how can I approach it.
Later in the game... with good investments in talents and gear, I had all three styles viable.
So I went in all silent, better gameplay then the older games. With a build with just 10% of health, but ridiculous damage. If anything happened, I switched to true Spartan warrior, survived few guards, and made my way to top if highest building killing everyone on the path. Then I waited for a while on rootfop, switching into hunter mode and sniping enemies that were looking at the bushes on the ground.
EXCELENT! I never had so much fun in AC.
Old games were fun for the first 2 hours, after that you had poor melee option, even fewer ranged option and assassin options were 10year old recycled stuff.
Normal people: the best feeling is when you defeat that final boss!

The first female protagonist was actually in 2012, in AC Liberation. Sure, it was Vita exclusive, but it was an official AC game.

I absolutely loved the game.
The only microtransaction item I even wanted was the Pegasus, and I was able to farm the special in-game currency and get lucky with the random item lottery purchase.
The history boff in me was squeeling like a fangirl every time I saw the Acropolis, Pericles, Herodotus, etc.
The mythology fan in me loved the inclusion of the minotaur and medusa, and the Atlantis DLC.
The RPG fan in me loved the increased amount of customisation.
The Black Flag fan in me loved the naval combat.
The Odyssey fan in me loved the land combat.
And the musical fan in me loved singing along with the sea shanties. Especially the Greek ones, had a real ring to them.
The RPG fan in me was wondering why I wasn't playing a better RPG.
The Assassins Creed fan in me was wondering why this game was called Assassins Creed.
Also, microtransactions can take a hike.

If you are ok with Microtransactions in your full priced single player game, bc it doesn't bother you enough to care, I understand completely; you're playing in spite of them.
But to all the people actively *defending* this predatory anti consumer practice, in which they nerf progress to promote payments, is mind boggling to me.
Not only is it taking advantage of you as the consumer, but the way it takes advantage of kids and addictive personalities is disgusting also. You can just accept something and you can also rationalize it to a point where you believe it's a good thing.
This isn't hyperbole. You can check the comment section on any full priced single player game with progression based MTs and see a massive amount of people getting angry and passionate in the defense of MTs and how they can even enhance the game by allowing you to skip it.
Why would you want a game, by definition is meant to be entertaining, be built in a way where you'd pay more to skip it? It's like an abusive relationship where they defend their abuser.
I'm legitimately impressed by game publishers for pulling this off. Their marketting and community manipulation is honestly something to be admired from a business standpoint.
I don't agree with the microtransactions, but you don't have to buy them and at no point did I feel my progression was nerfed. I played the game, explored the world and was able to do everything I wanted when I wanted. I do agree with you that microtransactions in general are a predatory practice, but as long as people buy them sadly they will continue to appear in games.

The disgusting part is that they aren't just cosmetics and be made so that even if you don't want to buy them you would like to, because you would get better stuff.
The sad part is that it ruins the experience for every single player - since there will be ones who buy them - and ones that feels ripped off and unsatisfied since they won't do it.

This was one of the best videos you've ever done....100% spot on. I love the game and have 3 complete playthroughs, but damn you nail all of the games problems.
Well, I agreed with almost everything (though mostly really loving the game)- I didn't see the need in purchasing one single thing. I'm a fan of 100%ing a game, and it took me 150 hours to finish it, but by the time I got to the final quests I was level 67 and had OP gear basically all the time.
I will admit, I loved Odyssey, and a lot of that comes from how many notes they took from the Witcher 3. Perfect description of Odyssey honest. 👍🏻 lols
The Witcher 3 is a lackluster generic fantasy rpg. I have it, I haven't even gotten pass the first half of the game. The books are medicore. Odyessy is thr worst game in the series.

It is a very tough and thick book, so reading it is quite a challenge.
The actual story is very famous.

I admit, I also never felt like grinding. Just moving around the world (never used fast travel, not even once) was amazing. The quests were just nice pretexts to explore even more - and find more stuff to do! In fact, I ended up becoming overleved for the main quest XD

I’m playing this game now and I gotta say;
1. I’m level 50 and have NEVER had to buy a micro transaction
2. Never had to grind to do the main quest
3. Was never bothered by Alexios’s voice acting
4. Never experienced a glitch/bug
5. Found the games story engulfing and loveable
6. Not ONCE hated the Real world segments
People make up SOOOO much of this game that isn’t true, just because they’re butt hurt that it isn’t AC: Origins or Blackflag 2.

i'm a fan of AC and love playing origins so much, but the TOO RPG style of Odyssey made me step back to buy
Cloud Strife Unless the game is super terrible and boring, getting 120 hours out of one game doesn't seem bad at all. For example I'm sure I've put at least that much time into something like Skyrim.
@@TheChershau I got lost in all the sand in Origins and got bored I think. I just kinda stopped playing one day. I loved Odyssey though. Never felt too grindy. I liked being able to make a few choices (some do really affect outcomes) and the side characters are really cool. I enjoyed it overall!

My favorite thing about this game though was that if the quest marker was on the other side of that mountain, well instead of walking 5,000 feet around it you could just clime up it. Always hated mountains getting in the way in RPGs.
I also loved getting to meet Socrates, though didn't like that my character found him annoying cuz I loved him.

In my experience, I've found that just doing side quests gives me an incredible amount of xp, which levels my character up muuuch faster!! No forts, no epic battles, just side quests, and boom. The leveling up becomes that much smoother and that much more fun! 😀

Another thing that I think these videos don't discuss enough is That every mechanic and these type of games is designed to encourage people to actually pay and obtain items through the micro transactions. For example he mentioned the fact that the quests don't give a lot of experience even though they might be hard to understand and perhaps could pose to be a challenge for new gamers. This is intentional because if you increased the experience and items and normal quests the people would have less of an incentive to purchase through the in game store.
It's not just cosmetics like skins, but threw whole gaming experience is purposefully hamstrung to make micro transactions more appealing. This analogous to mobile games that are in slow motion until you reach level 50 or vip 1 (i.e. buy something).

I love having mercenaries attacking me when I am attacking a fort. Most of the time, the mercenaries and the soldiers end up fighting each other.
