- My 2012 BMW X5 35i that I purchased from CoPart has been sidelined long enough. In this video I try and resolve it's issues by replacing the PCV valve. But of course BMW doesn't it make it easy.

Glad I found your video. I have a 2013 X5 I bought from Copart at a bargain price. It was overheating. Problem solved after I changed the water pump, temp sensor, and water pump connector (corroded). Now all I have is white smoke from the exhaust at 1st start up for about 10 minutes. I think you showed me what to do next. Thank you.
Glad it helped
id change the oil too. very good repair.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for an excellent diy troubleshooting. Did you throw any codes for the rough idle. I get it. Quick fix with PCV.
can you provide anything on changing the ignition coil, spark plugs, and Coils,
Someone mentioned Cold Spark Plugs is there such Thin. By the way Very nice Video presentation.
Thanks for this very detailed video
Just one question how’s she doing on gas
I have one exactly like This one and it’s showing me it it’s just giving 12 mpg
I sold it a few months ago. I can't remember what the mpg's were but I'm thinking it was better then 12, but I'm really not sure. Thanks for watching!
What an awesome video. I have a 2009 X5 with 120k miles and I will be replacing the PCV valve my self, but I can do it thanks to your video. THANK YOU. Can you please send me the info on the epoxy that you used to glue it. Also when you put it on does it have to sit in any particular direction? or you just press it in and that is it?
amzn.to/3xuMk4B ~Link for gasket maker. Take note the direction the old pcv valve sits. There is a little notch so when your installing you turn the valve up against the notch.
my 2007 X5 also has smoke problems if comtinuously used for hours
Did you change the top nipple piece from the old pic valve to the new one?
Mike KC's garage.Where are you located State I have a 2011 BMW X6 With twin Turbo that burns oil and sometimes smoke when taking off. Can you help?
I am having a hard time finding the PCV cap for my 2009 X5 3.0 Any advice ? Thank you.
yours may be on the side of the valve cover instead of directly on top.
Any updates on this? would like to know if this fix has held up
I sold the X5 about a year later. But no issues after the repair.
Hi great video sir!! 100--100 i have a 2013 bmw x5 35i 3.0 litre turbo purchased 10 months ago. it do surge up and down on my rpm gauge on Cold in the mornings only, just for a few seconds ( between 500--1300 rpm)and level off at 750 rpm normally, only when it was cold ,like -1 and colder, otherwise in warm temperature no surging . Now today ,all of a sudden now the "check engine" light is on . it has 140.000 kilometers.is it possible its the pcv valve system? and did this PCV Valve replacement work out ok for you and did it stop the rpm issue and the oil leaks at your oil pan? BTW What brand and model code reader tool do you have and is it comptable with a 2013 x5 35i? ty please post more videos
Here is the link for the scan tool on Amazon. amzn.to/3wUudo1
Changing the PCV Valve made a big difference. I also removed and cleaned the vanos solenoids. I have another video coming out soon on the oil leak. Thanks for watching!
