"The Last Time" sounds like a proto-folklore/evermore song, with it's dark, mellow piano at the start. With a slightly different production, it would fit right in.

I loved The Last Time stolen version but oh my! imo it was the most improved song in Red (TV) and I'm glad people are seeing the light!

unpopular OPINION: the last time is SO MUCH BETTER then exile, easily. Gary’s vocals are better then Bon Iver’s.
From what I’ve heard, Girl At Home in the stolen red version is a “demo” and Girl At Home TV is her original idea for the song. The reason why it wasn’t like this in the Red (Stolen Version) is because her team at that point wanted more country songs and didn’t want to go along with her original vision.
Edit: also, I interpreted the lyrics “it would be a fine proposition, if I was a stupid girl, and yet I might go with it, if I hadn’t once been just like her” as like even if she was a stupid girl, she still wouldn’t go through with it since she went through the same thing.
That's an interesting take. I liked the original because of the hook, however the instrumental was, honestly, a bit bland. So that's nice.

It's an interesting story and I personally like the different reactions people are having to the situation, some feel it was an improvement, some like both(me included), some felt the stolen version fitted more with the theme and would like to listen to it without giving money to Scooter

if she didn't want to release it in the first place, why would she go through the trouble of re-recording it once more?
At least "All Too Well" was an honest, deliberate choice to make the album fit and flow. Even if she liked the full version more.
I'm gonna be honest, i wasn't even the biggest fan of the original red, but this version has me OBSSESED

The vault song "Nothing New" would be someone else's breakthrough hit - but for Taylor it's a hidden gem that sat in the Vault...amazing.

This album is so nostalgic to me, it took me right back to thirteen year old me who had her first "heartbreak" and this album was her life and now with eight years worth of new experiences it's back and better than ever. It was an overwhelming experience hearing it again

It's interesting, bc I've never thought about Girl at home's lyrics that way. To me, the "it would be a fine proposition if I hadn't once been just like her" doesn't imply that you have to be cheated on in order to know not to cheat, but instead that that whole situation hits Taylor personally, in a spot that hurts her. At the end of the day, she is rejecting him because it's the right thing to do (I feel a responsability to do what's upstanding and right), but her reject also has an emotional layer
State of grace is one of her best lyrical songs. So underrated
I enjoyed Girl At Home(Taylor’s Version) a lot more that the original. Actually Girl At Home was my only skip from Red.And now I’ve been listening to the re-recording of it on repeat.It sounds so good!
Overall I might be one of the few people who listened to the album in order and didn’t skip right to the Vault tracks.All of the songs sound so fresh and new.

For Girl At Home I think it's a combination of no one liking it and Swift's og intent on making it more poppy given that RED is a transitional album. I didn't even realize how much I liked it until the middle when it started to register that this is different.
She really sounds so good in these new versions, her voice has matured so much and when listening to both albums together you can really tell. Some songs, like All Too Well, hit really different. Truly a gift to have all these albums being re-released with a better production, better vocals and even a better feeling to them :)
the thing i love about the moment i knew so much is how she waits until the end of the song to reveal its her birthday party...storytelling brilliance.
We need a Red Show replicating the Tour or a Taylor's Version tour AND FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE REALISED THAT 'WeeeeeeeEE' in WANEGBT sounds weird 😂

I think the pop ones got attention the first time and she wants to let the other songs shine bc they never rlly got the recognition they deserve.

I think people weren't really for TLT when it was first released. Now they're already trained w folklore and evermore so i hope it gets the recognition it always deserved.
I LOVE Stay Stay Stay! It's so fun. It's like Paper Ring's even bubblier little sister. I think the reason people don't like The Last Time is maybe because it's almost *too* mature compared to everything else on the album, it almost feels like it was off another album.

i love this version of The Last Time so much better than the original because in the original it sounded like Taylor was a feature on her own song but in this version it sounds like it's *her* song. like the vocals are just so much more present than the other and the harmonies still slap but even more now. i love this song so much

35:31 personally, i think it's the other way around. Girl at home (stolen version) feels like a complete song but Girl at home (Taylor's Version) is ok but doesn't sound finished, like they had a vision, started working on it but stopping when only 85% complete.

helloooo! the day red tv came out actually an ep of an EXTREMELY underrated artist i love came out, her name is Holly Humberstone and she has two eps, the first one is called Falling Asleep at the Wheel and the second one is called The Walls are Way Too Thin and i really think you would like them (maybe you will like the first one better)
