How to Bench an Excavator with the Bucket or a Laser

Learn how to bench an excavator for precise 2D Machine Control using either the bucket or a laser.
When excavator operators use Machine Control in 2D mode, maintaining the correct height reference is crucial for proper alignment. This is where the technique of benching the excavator comes into play. In this video, we will quickly explain two methods to achieve this. The reference height from the existing surface can be transferred to the Machine Control system either by using the bucket or by utilizing a laser and the laser catcher mounted on the excavator's stick.
