  • I've been looking for a 2nd hand mini excavator for few years, to maintain my forest tracks and build new atv trails. Everything I've looked at is over priced or worn out, so I decided to buy this new, discounted, last years model Tb217 It's a great little machine

Given your land's verticality, modifying the Yan to match the Take's bottom blade would be a good idea. They are indeed much more stable with longer reach. There's also another mod where you add two extra winglets (controlled by an extra cylinder) that extend and dig down when the blade's in the ground, giving it even more stability.

It is pretty amazing what you can do with a mini excavator. There is an old guy that has been building new trail through wooded and rocky terrain at a county park nearby. hay m8 to reduce the speed of the tilt bucket but not affect other attachments we normally aneal back a grub screw drill out to the appropriate size start small and work you way up . we then drill and tap the hydraulic fitting before the quick release (bucket side ) and thread the grub screw in works a treat. you normally only have to do one side

The flow control for the auxiliaries is already installed I see from 5:27 in your video. If you put your hand a little higher...that is one of the two flow controls. You need to close it a long way otherwise there is no control. Use a spanner to do this. It may be very stiff, in particular when you got pressure on it. So stop the engine, wiggle the foot control to release the pressure and adjust. Also, to remove the hoses, you also have to release the pressure. Say hi to Kendall from me.

What a beautiful machine. How many of us are hoping it breaks down quickly so we can see how Marty fixes it ? Only half joking...

7:39 I've rented a few of these excavators for some small projects around the house. They're pretty decent. Pulls out small stumps and rotted material pretty well.

Very good choice in the Takeuchi. You should have years of trouble free service from it as well as it's ability to perform like a bigger machine. As far as it being last year's model, that doesn't matter in the least. Good luck and enjoy

Sweet machine mate. Know a local contractor who has been running one for years, went for takeuchi over cat. You deserve it!

I was surprised by the new but he needs something he doesn’t have to work on all the time. I hope he’ll keep making his repair/ rebuild videos, I’m sure he will.
