  • On a recent trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, we visited the Carolina Raptor Center in nearby Huntersville, NC. We spent a morning checking out their raptor trail featuring more than 30 birds of prey. We will show you some highlights from the trail - including getting to see a couple of bald eagles being fed. And we'll share with you the history of this place and what we thought of the experience. Thanks for watching!

This is such an awesome place in my hometown that I now know of, thanks to this amazingly well presented video.
These birds are fascinating! It's so cool to watch them eat while getting a close-up view of them. Learning about them is also an added bonus.
I appreciate the educational aspect of this experience, as we should all strive to take much better care of the world around us and our co-inhabitants.
This is especially important because we exist in a world that depends so heavily on balanced ecosystems. Birds do play an important role, as do many other species. Living in harmony with nature is key to our own future.
Big thanks for this awesome, informative video!

What a great place! Amazing variety of raptors. I love that they rehab injured birds and release them. I never realized the Eagles are so light. I agree that vultures can be cute up close. It's so important that we take care of the world around us and this place takes that seriously. Thank you for taking us along!

We were shocked that the average bald eagle weighs less than our 10 pound house cats. They look big. I agree - it is very important that we are good stewards of the natural world. It is a great responsibility. Thanks for watching and commenting!

We enjoy visiting wildlife preserves and hospitals for bird and animal recovery from injury, Alice and Jack. I don't mind paying an admission fee while doing so, because I know it's going for a good cause. I never knew a eagles bones were hollow. We have them here at our new home in Northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior. I can watch them from our windows. Some other fun, beautiful, and amazing birds here too! Yes. Even the vultures! 🤣🤣Thanks so much for the tour.

I have never heard of a raptor center before. But how cool! All the birds are really neat to learn about. Pretty impressive creatures! Loved learning all about the different types and info about them. There are so many I have never seen or heard of before. Like the abyssinian ground hornbill! So cute they give them scraps of newspaper for enrichment. The eagles are definitely impressive. He looks quite proud of his fish. I agree even a vulture can be cute watching them close up, that wing span is huge!! I love animal exhibits too. Looks like a great spot to check out! :)

I have never heard of a rapture center before. I think Alfred Hitchcock ruined it for me after seeing The Birds. Really cool how they take care of the injured. I was so scared for that lady in the demonstration. My wife would have loved this place. She loves birds.
