- Episode #38 of the UNO MAS levels showcase series!!!
For those that don't know what an UNO MAS level is, essentially it's a short level made to showcase something neat, unique, silly or glitchy in Mario Maker 2. Typically, once figured out, these levels will take under 30 seconds to beat...but those 30 seconds are usually filled with eye opening moments. Let's dive into these levels!
Shoutout's to all the level creators in today's video. Level codes are featured in the video before each level is played, so check them out!

1:22 In SMB3, there is an easter egg where if you try and duck through a white semisolid block (which makes you fall behind it in the original game), you get bumped up slightly instead, implying the way behind it is blocked. This bump is what occured to grab that coin, the semisolid is hidden behind the brick block/ground blocks

hmm yes the floor is made of floor

………………..IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?!
10:23 the second blaster is acting independently from the other 3 because that setup is at X=9, which is SMM2’s famous jank coordinate
15:39 also, Mario was able to grab the key here because he was at X=9, quite jank
wast it x=8?
@@ghhh5172 the 9 would be where mario jumped from where the key is (x=8). so yeah its still the very famous x=9 jank.

Yeah it took me a moment but I was like “oh yeah duh”
It was from one of the first SMM2 troll levels he played too

At least one person is smart
For the short hop to get the coin in the saw (SMB3) there's a white block semi-solid behind the brick. The little jump right before 5 seconds of ducking is a nod to how you could fall behind the white semi-solids in the actual SMB3 game (yay warp whistles!)
Concerning Koopas in SMW
Green - Always walks towards Mario after hit.
Red - Always walks away from Mario after hit.
In all other types both always walks towards Mario.
The more you know. ===== 🌟
ohhh it wasn't his shell
In 1:33 I think its the easter egg from one of the other mario games added into super mario maker 2 which if you crouch on a semi-solid it makes you go to the background which in this case makes a slight jump
Ty to the first reply for reminding me
Its the semi solids
A white semi-solid hidden behind the block.
Its amazing how people are still finding different unexplainable jank in this game, i've seen tons of these weird glitches used in troll levels too so people are definitely taking notes of this which is equally awesome.
I'm most curious about 13:55 since the goomba triggered the thwomp.
At 13:55, you can hear the sound of a Thwomp hitting a note block. My guess is that this level uses the teleportation mechanic to teleport a note block under the Thwomp to activate it, then instantly teleport the note block off-screen to make it look like the Galoomba activated the Thwomp.
Nice one! As for the level the video title is about, it's just the ol' track teleportation used to create illusions.
No wonder that level's gone already. A shame, I wanted to see what more there was of it. Don't know why the one after it got nuked though, that's just standard X=9 weirdness.
17:50. “We need to keep the bottom layer of Piranha plants.

They're supposedly a variant of a piranha plant though…
I like how the first time you played the first level, my phone decided the cannon was standing still
Also in the second level, there is a white platform under the brick
In the Algebra level, there were 9 doors, when the max is 16. 4 sets of 2 per subword, 2 subwords.
@@sans5955 oh yeah, forgot they could have just led to each other
The boop is an intended reference to the white platform in the original SMB3, in wich you booped up and would be invincible, and able to walk behind enemies and platforms
well not invincible. you were in the background
I like Amanda’s background appearances. She’s so adorable.
Mr steal you girl
The 50/50 Zero one was the most stunning to me, I mean that could've been the target uno mas level for the video title. Imagine getting an Uno Mas level in Endless Mode. Like it's impressive, and also that level 50/50 Zero was easy, all you had to do was die, which is perfect so that (without the 1UPs at the end), you can make a level for Easy Endless that's easy, but you just need to sacrifice one of your marios/lives, and if you had lost 4 of your lives and just started, hadn't got any 1UPs yet, and then this easy level to beat except you had to sacrifice your last life and *Insert Super Mario Bros Game Over Song Here*
By the way how to you duplicate your keys, and the P Switch in a different spot, but mainly how did you duplicate your keys?
I think the 50/50 is a red herring; there is a setup that triggers only when starting from CP1 and gives an extra key.
@@fangzhang9376 🆒, heh. But I wonder how the level creator beat it without dying. Maybe some hacking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Omg that circus level is SO SO COOL
It's so cute seeing a Goombrat look so sentient, too lol

1:32 There's a white semisolid platform behind that brick block. When Mario chrouches while standing on that white semisolid platform, he will do his legendary fart, which pushes him upwards by ever so slightly! This is because, in the original Super Mario Bros 3 NES game, when Mario chrouches on a white semisolid platform, he will fall through it and hide behind the background. In SMM1 and SMM2, Mario does a legendary fart instead.
1:38 I think this is a reference to smb3 where you crouch on the white platform thing which you then somehow go behind it. But in this game you just have this small jump
Hey Dave! On the "prayer" one...if you duck on the white semisolids they will give you a mini jump...this is basically a callback to SMB3 when ducking on the white semisolids puts you behind the scenery.
Semicolons?
@@alisiaale565 Whoops, I was on mobile haha! Got by autocorrect. Thanks!
@@tybertimus, happy to help! Lol, the autocorrector ruins my messages sometimes too! That's why I always read my comments at least two times before posting them. The funny part is that I am Romanian, so my autocorrector is also in Romanian, which makes the autocorrector think I am trying to type something in the Romanian language, which breaks the whole message, lol!
*10:29** Fun fact:* Letter A in the word " Uno Mas" had a sharp hat on it (Â). This is a Romanian letter used to note the sound [ɨ], also known as the close central unrounded vowel. This sound doesn't really exist in English. For instances, it makes a sound similar to the letter A in the word "messages" and the last syllabe in the word "suspicious". Basically, this is how the Romanian letter  works.
1:20 - Sorry to spoil the magic, but I think what XavMLay did was he put a white semi-solid platform under the brick block. For those of you who don't know, there is an easter egg in SMM2 SMB3 style where if you duck on a white semi-solid platform for a few seconds, you will do a mini jump.
How are people finding so many wacky things after so many months
Its very impressive
It makes me wonder what they're doing with their time to break SMM like this 😆
People still finding bugs in games 30 years after release.
I like how Bowser acknowledges your victory by jumping in lava even though he wasn't on the bridge
1:20 He still doesn’t know about the smb3 jump Easter egg lol
1:35 If you use a white semisolid in the smb 3 ground style mario/Luigi/Toad/Toadette will do a little jump. (Tho because of the blocks you cant see it. )Its a reference to one of the levels in smb 3 where if you duck on the semisolid you will do a little jump and get behind the background and thereby get a warp.
It's not only one of the levels in the original SMB3 game. Any level that has a white semisolid platform in it will do the trick.
1:18 The reason mario jumps a little is beacause in the original Mario 3 there was a secret where if you crouch on a white semi solid Mario would go in the background so, of course, nintendo put this easter egg in mm2 but in a different way.
In MM2 if you crouch for 5 seconds (the amount of time needed for this to work) Mario will do a slight hop, so, that brick had a white semi solid behind it and when you crouched for 5 seconds, it made Mario jump :).
4:45 because blasters agave a cycle of when they can shoot, if they can't, they won't, and they'll wait until the next cycle to shoot, this setup in particular makes it take 120 seconds
Wow that explained nothing
So.. I'm assuming that the cannons run their timer for firing even when they're not in a spot they can fire? So it just takes roughly two minutes to have the cannon's timer and it's placement on the track to line in a spot that actually works?
That would be my guess as well.
I assumed they were playing with the item limit... If you hit the item limit, the cannon won't shoot. Then if you have something offscreen on a long track (that takes 2 minutes to get to the end of) that ends with that thing disappearing, thus lowering the item count by one and allowing the cannon to shoot the spring.
That's how I'd do it at least.
@@cloudshad0ws oh, I didnt even think about playing with the item limit, that seems like it would be way easier to have something come together without it just being discovered by chance.
Every time he says "Weird wacky and wonderful things" it reminds me of "weird wacky inflatable tube man"

1:42 they put a white platform behind the block. It’s a easter egg, and a reference to this game. People use it in puzzle levels sometimes.
15:50 Dave it's not algebra is just showing how when the X axis = 8, that the game lets you get the key.
X=9 Strikes Back (One)
@@1234millerz Oh I'm starting to remember Carl's videos studying good old X=9!
Starting my day off watching your videos before work is always a good thing
1:42 that is an eatser egg in referance to the original game, on some spots you had to hold down to get on the background and in one of the levels you could get a flute, but you cant rly go in the background in SMM2 (and there would be nothing behind anyways) so they make you do some sort of "half jump" to "mimic" it
1:33 they put a white platform which makes them hop if they duck. this is a reference to the original smb3 where if you duck on the white platform in level 1 you can go behind the platform.
1:42, because in mario 3 there's a thing where if you crouch every so often you will do a very small hop
That "pray for coin" level is just too good of a way to use an Easter egg as an actual mechanic
1:42 theres an smb3 easter egg where if you duck on a white semisolid instead of falling through it you jump just a teenie weensie bit
That happened because normally if Mario ducks on a white semi-solid for long enough in the Super Mario Brothers 3 Style he'll do a short hop but I think there's either a semi-solid behind that block or it's glitched causing the game to think that the brick block is actually a white semi-solid which is why Mario hops to collect to the coin
can't wait for next vid bc my level FINALLY got cleared xD by dgr dave himself
Go you! 👍
sick, dude! that's awesome!
For the little jump, this is a reference of smb3 secret when you duck you pass in the decor and black end to have a secret object like thing summon a tornado
Wow, that first one was already amazing lol
LOL MARIO IGNORES THE CASTLE DOOR
18:58 That was a very Ryu laugh of you :p
21:45 you mean Mario has a plum shaped body type? OneHand
*18:16** Dave:* Dies.
*Also Dave:* So, maybe that was right!
1:30 the white semisolid making its magic!
The reason that first level is really cool is that Mario runs PAST the castle instead of going in the door at the end. I’ve never seen that before
"Screw this, the princess is in another castle, Im out of here"
1:33 there is a white semi-solid behind this brick and there is an easteregg that in orofinal you could go trough it AND other semi-solids and even background. So nintendo did this little jump egg
*1:28** in that style as an Easter egg, if you duck on the white semisolid platform, you do a little jump*
14:52 Oh my god that joke lol
Mario giving BoomBoom a clothesline from hell is a mood.
1:36 this was in The original Mario maker, if your playing smb3 and crouch for a length of time, Mario does a tiny hop, I forgot the level but I’m pretty sure you even played the level back when Mario maker 1 was still relevant
He did, it was used in a troll level where you crouch to ride a conveyor under spikes, makes you hop into the last spike before you come out.

“The ball was literally stuck in the crack” that’s what she said....
1:29 White semisolid platform behind block? Nice to know that you can hide them.
x=8 is a multiple of 2, and it uses an extra bit compared to any positive number below
for example, 1 could be 001
7 could be 111
but for 8 you would need to do 1000
so it may have something to do with that
1:27 I think they hid a white semisolid platform there.
10:32 “toco bell” lol

Michael Scott: THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!
It’s a reference to Mario Bros 3’s warp whistle. Mario’s on a white semisolid and after ducking for a long enough time he’ll hop and get the coin
I have a theory about the spring launcher.
As you enter the door shows you a red launcher on a track. I think it takes to minutes to red launcher align with the gap between the black launchers and shoot the spring
This was my exact thought-the blaster wants to fire every X frames, but it only is capable of firing (i.e. reaches the edge of the other two) every Y frames, so it’s only when some a × X and b × Y can line up (after accounting for whatever difference between them at the start) that it will fire.
You can visualize something similar. If you think of the first line as “when the cannon wants to fire” and the second as “when it is at the edge”…
....!....!....!....!....!....!....!....!....!
...!........!........!........!........!.....
.......................................💥
…it’s only when those two things line up that it’s able to fire. The real numbers are different (and much larger!), but the concept is the same.
If you want to learn more about the math behind this, you can look up articles or videos about the “least common multiple”. After the initial firing, whose exact time is also determined by how far offset the two cycles start from each other, the cannon will fire every LCM(X, Y) frames.
The pray for coin is probably the white block trick. thats smb3. in mm2 if you duck on a white block it will make you do a small jump. like in regular smb3 if you duck on a white block is makes you go behind the scene. the brick is there to hide the white block.
hmm... I think something pushed a red launcher to making a cannon shake and the black launcher, the jankiest item in the game shake at such a high speed that the game can't handle his collision in Toad Yeet.
Awwh the outro music is so cute!
These get more and more confounding. 🤯
10:07 If you look closely, the ground on which the second spring is sitting is set slightly higher, resulting in it acting different from the others.
Ahh yes, DGR, I missed this channel.

Woah this is episode 38?!?…wow…
1:45 in pretty sure it was a cameo to one of smb3's secret areas
How does DGR not know about the SMB3 easter egg everybody knew that since mario maker 1 lol
Mario is on a white semi solid platform. that is what hits mario up to get the coin. Its not an uno mas its a feature because in the 3rd level of smb3 if you duck on the white platform at the end for long enough you go threw it into the back of the level to get a warp whistle.
the second blaster not bouncing the same looks to be a x=9 thing
Ima be honest, he looks like Sal from impractical jokers.
*Level:* TOO SLOW
*DGR:* what?
*Level:* exactly
3:54 even without the powerup he still crouches, see literally 10 seconds ago
I think it takes two minutes because the red launcher probably has to move itself to the position of the leftmost black launcher so that the spring wouldn't bounce back. I don't play mm2 though so i'm probably wrong.
I think the red blaster has to move to a pixel-perfect place where it is one pixel away from being visible and have the spring timer line up exactly to there
