- Episode #35 of the UNO MAS levels showcase series!!!
For those that don't know what an UNO MAS level is, essentially it's a short level made to showcase something neat, unique, silly or glitchy in Mario Maker 2. Typically, once figured out, these levels will take under 30 seconds to beat...but those 30 seconds are usually filled with eye opening moments. Let's dive into these levels!
Shoutout's to all the level creators in today's video. Level codes are featured in the video before each level is played, so check them out!

“I haven’t done the old dry ground pound since the old college days!”
-1 minute later-
“I had to apologize to my wife about the old college days comment.” 😂
Lmao, I was wondering about the edit there that cut it off. Thanks for this
DGR
The reason he had to apologize about it is because his wife dislikes how frequently they do it in the bedroom.
Hi Dave! I made the levels "Uno Más: Pixel Squeeze" and "Uno Más: Ghost Yoshi". Thank you so much for playing, and I am really glad you liked!!!! 🤩🤩

Can you please explain the setup for the Yoshi ghost?
@@eagerphoenix966 they were stating that they made those levels
20:07 love the cool cloud in the top left. Seen him around before but a nice touch
2:41 That actually makes sense. Like in the other game styles, if you get crushed you'll still keep the shellmet but lose the powerup
Ghost yoshi level was really neat. Uses the fact that yoshi doesn’t despawn. Curious if the egg eventually comes down after boo ring at start. Neat level. Thx DGR
Yes,
To explain even further;
the munchers are offloaded, but the yoshi is not. So the yoshi goes trough the space where the munchers would’ve been. That’s why the one-ways are there, they are not offloaded either, so the yoshi cannot come back.
When the player comes Back, the munchers reappear, and it looks like yoshi has gone trough a muncher, when actually, the muncher disappeared.
I smell troll potential.
@@chri-k, that's true! Also, the tiles of a level are never despawned, even when a tile is off-screen. The tile is just hidden, but it's still there. It doesn't despawn. That's why the semisolid platform, the ground, and everything didn't despawn and Yoshi didn't fall through the ground or something.
My guess would be, that there is some entity limit stuff going on, to make that yoshi egg appear. Maybe, the Boo circle is loaded before the egg at the start of the level, hindering the egg to spawn, but once you unload the Boos and come from the other side, the Yoshi egg loads first. But thats just a guess
@@justsayin...1158, cool idea!
@@justsayin...1158 Hi JustSayin! I didn't use entity limit. It's just the spawn/despawn thing. The Yoshi spawns on a seesaw. When seesaw despawns, the Yoshi falls. I used the boo as a decoration, it's supposed to be yoshi in his ghost form 😄 This way, the seesaw is not in the boo's path at the beginning, but after when it spawns without the yoshi, it blocks the boo's from falling. (if that makes sense, sorry for my english 😄)
Thank you so much Dave for playing my levels!!!
Nice
Thank you so much for bringing this jank to our attention lol
Thank you for to playing my game!
12:25 It's not the placement of the one ways, it's the water. The munchers fall slightly slower in water, which causes this to happen
Here's the story: Yoshi, born when Mario and Luigi were 5. Was their favorite pet, until Yoshi followed Princess Peach. Once Princess Peach got taken away by Bowser, Mario and Luigi was busy moving in, so Yoshi went ahead. The original Yoshi followed Bowser. Then Bowser killed him just like that. So every egg/yoshi you see is the ghost of original Yoshi, trying to get back and trying to save peach
Bro… that’s depressing
LMAO, before I opened the replies of your comment, it said that there are no replies. But then I opened the replies and there's one reply?!?!?! How is that possible? Maybe the comment was already loaded and the reply wasn't posted yet until I opened it, but that's just RUclips Uno Mas!
So then Baby Mario was 5 in Yoshi Island? Explains a lot actually.
I like Blue Toad Central’s theory better
Is this real?
I don't understand how these people find these exploits, but they never fail to amuse me!
Same, buddy.
Same!
Most of the time, people find these glitches by accident. But some people that have the resources and a bit of know-how can look into the game algorithm and see what's going on, then plan work-arounds to get jank from the game.
We are the Turing Machine.
@@alisiaale565 "game algorithm" smh
Yoshi probably died from players ditching him in lava and poison.
Nah, DGR killed him.
Or Yoshi was never alive from the very beginning.
Yoshi choked on his tongue. Seriously, how does he fit that thing inside his mouth, let alone have it go through a wall?
Totaly
well, that's what i thought.
The checkpoint level claims it's a priority thing, but I'm pretty sure it's just a hitbox thing. I think the checkpoint just has a wider hitbox than the flagpole, so you grab it from slightly farther away.
Yoshi isn't the ghost, it's the munchers that are ghosts. They only exist when you are close enough to them, but Yoshi persists in his panicked state so he is just running through empty space when you aren't there to observe the munchers into existence.
Shrodinger's muncher. Only exists when you observe it, if you don't the munchers exist but at the same time do not.
@@trickygamer555 underrated comment
Ghost Yoshi is easy to explain.
When your 4 blocks away from something off screen, it despawns. Yoshi does not despawn, but the munchers do. So you despawn the munchers, making Yoshi fall through. Same for the one blocking the exit.
No english
@@TheGlitchyMario Lol google translate is a mess at times, but thank you for trying your best! 😁 I translated what you said so I hope the person can understand the concept better
As a software developer, it's so fun to watch these, because I can usually explain them relatively easily :) (or at least theorize)
You should collaborate with some streamers. Do a Jank Explained series. ;)
@@z4nd4r Actually just bought a green screen and some recording equipment. Made a channel dedicated to software gone wrong in general. I'm sure Mario Maker will come up :)

Nothing like a fresh new DGR Uno Mas level to start your day, thanks Dave!
P.S love the smash brother melee sound effects
14:20 that can be done with any 2x2 tile big enemy, it's already really well known
Dangit Dave. In the level where you grab the cp right before the flagpole, what happens if you grab the cp and then die?
A fun troll/speed run level should be built around that. It'll annoy people who thought they just beat the level lol
Mario is scared of fish, and gets an heart attack right before getting hit by it.
12:58 “That guy isn’t being groovy. Get him.”
Carl’s insane Link kaizo level used the bomb and shield tech!
There’s always new things that why I love this series
*8:51**, The Circle of Spinies.*
8:49 spine tops or whatever they called are thinking back to their collage day
Spike Tops.
1:27 I have an idea from a game designs standpoint, the fish's hotbox moves, then the sprite, it usually happens on the same frame, but it hitting Mario glitches it out, so that the sprite being moved gets interrupted
2:27 this one doesn t seems weird, in every other style you can lose your power up but not your helmet in the same way
When you get hit while having a spiny shelmet with a mushroom, the shellmet would get taken off. I don’t get what you’re saying…
@@chancethedogslife if you get crush into a 1 block tall gap while being 2 block tall, like the uno mas level, you don t lose the shelmet, but only the power up you have, right ?
@@briceandrieux I’m fairly certain that in all other game styles except for 3D world, the order in which you take damage no matter what would be yoshi/ dry bones shell, then spiky or regular shellmet, then power up. I guess this isn’t true in 3D world when getting crushed but the shellmet goes first. Good theory though! :D
@@chancethedogslife I just tried it, getting crush in other style doesn t remove your shelmet ^^ but it does make you small, that s why I didn t think anything was weird in the uno mas level in 3D world style
@@briceandrieux Oh ok, nice job! :D
mario had a heart attack before the fish could get him
the dry bone uno mas level just shows you that you can cancel a groundpound
if you have a dryboneshell you can always 'kill' a big drybone
the hidden blocks are just to prevent you from jumping on the drybone
22:53 I think what happens is the munchers despawn when they're off screen and yoshi does not, so yoshi goes through
Uno más vids are very fun to watch
Keep up the good work!
Some of these levels are so creatively inventive that it's intimidating. I've only made one level before. I basically took a clear pipe and filled the entire world with it, so when you entered it at the beginning of the level, you travel back and forth through the level until it drops you on the flag. that's the only thing I could think of to do...
XD
Until finally, I saw that black yoshi on your shirt change and then realised the green yoshi was censored by your green screen lmao!
i can no longer imagine a thwomp without little twiggy arms and legs
Dave, for the thwomp level, the change in the thwomp's speed is because of the WATER, not the one-ways🤦♂️
You should have saved "Ghost Yoshi" for the week of Halloween.
Aye nice video DGR I love every one of ur vids
1:49 I know how that works. As you go on the spring, it's hitbox goes down just like the sprite. Therefore, it makes you under the hidden block, hitting it.
@DGR: De-sponing trick this is how it works the boo circle appear first because their is something off screen that prevent the yoshi from sponing so when you off screen the boo circle it free up the limitation to make yoshi egg spond, notice the room of munchers is long enough to de-spond the muncher so that is how yoshi can go through the muncher since yoshi is a global sprite so it does not de-spond off screen so the muncher is not their when mario is too far but yoshi still is.
9:32 charvaargh but in super mario world style lol
Awesome ideas these creators r making
Mario farted the block 2:22
Level: Look Hammer + Icicle Jank
DGR: Slope is Gigajank
Yoshi’s a ghost that’s kind of scary
The feesh drop made me actual lol
Fun Fact: Mecha koopas are treated as power-ups, meaning only one spawns at a time from pipes and blasters. The same is true for Spike.
I didn't know that, thx for the fact
…maybe not treated AS……
The first one probably work as the second launcher is inside one way door unlike the first that was inside the wall, I think it's make the game think that there is a gap that allow mario to pass the launcher so in order to catch mario the thwomp fall down
In that level where you take damage, but still get to keep the hat you're wearing...
Did you know: while wearing the Goomba Mask, if you crouch, you'll walk at the same speed as regular Goombas?
It's such a neat detail that nobody else has ever mentioned. Figured you'd wanna know...
The more you know. ===🌟
Dave mentions that feature all the time in levels involving it
@@mousearts7079 yes…yes he does…

Dave: "Why are you the way that you are?"
The Yoshi on your shirt/t-shirt goes well with the game
The yoshi makes sense, the munchers despawn to reduce lag, but yoshi doesnt, so he runs straight trough
Player:
Also player: iT's AlL yOuR fAuLt NiNtEnDo
I can explain the reason ghost Yoshi works if your off screen you despawn a lot of stuff except Yoshi so he goes through the floor and such and can be waiting for you so he is probably under the floor and comes out only if you go off screen!
1:13 Plesioth vibes
The king of mario games is back!
That last one is amazing too holy cow.
Yoshies and all powerups despawn farther away from Mario than enemies, so the Yoshi went through that muncher because it had despwaned.
Is nobody gonna talk about the end of the Ghost Yoshi level, where did the munchers go?
I needed this
Good job Chris at 7:34 for removing Dave's picture TO FINALLY let us see the action. dgrSmirk
Did you not notice the cloud fella at 20:06?
I could be wrong on this (I have like no clue on how this game works mechanically) but I think the Hidden in Plain Sight one works while crouching because it somehow causes Mario to hit the spring and bounce off of it while triggering the Hidden block, but also moving him upward before the Hidden block becomes visible and Mario can interact with it.
Again, I'm most likely wrong, but that's my theory. Dunno why it only works while crouching, though (may be something to do with the crouching hitbox?)
12:15 It’s actually because the Thwomp is underwater. If the Thwomp is not underwater, it will not go zoom on the seesaw. But if the Thwomp is underwater, it does go zoom.
Gotta love how Sweboy deleted his comment and reposted it. And is still wrong. ;)
@@Pichu-82, I would've done the same exact thing sometimes if I didn't have so many likes when people were bothering me.
Did you notice the dry bones item carry glitch was possible in the SMB3 forest night version?
I think it also works in NSMBU, but it doesn't work in SMB 1 because you can't pick up Pow blocks.
The invis yoshi I was like WHAT THE FRICK
the yoshi one was AMAZING!
Someone missed an opportunity to call uno mas levels "unintendo interactions"
10:05 the launching launchers were used at Carl's trash can right at the flagpole, for those who remember 😉

I see nothing wrong here. Everything is clearly working as nintended. This episode had some really cool stuff, and some things I've never seen before.
DGR, here is an uno mas level I made: 684-25N-N5G
If Dave stood literally anywhere in that room in the 2nd level he'd find out he dies to nothing all the time, not just under the fish. You just die after a few seconds
I was wondering about that, now I know...
The more you know. === 🌟
4:54 I havent touched a bulbous tip since my old college days
Ghost yoshi is evidence that killing yoshis makes them stronger.
oh wow it does go zoomie zoom IS MY FAV QOTE OF 2021 SO FAR
Yoshi in the Shell, great anime from the 90s
yoshi is also a ghost on your shirt too :D
Well if you love the levels like them, but for the rest great vid
holding onto an object while in a dry bone shell should be a update
the thwomp hit box is nearly about 1 or 2 pixels far, as you can see slowly in the picture mode, thats why it isn´t activated.
11:09 I think it would've been more interesting to see what it looks like if you just hit the checkpoint, then die on the spike and respawn right on the flagpole :)
5:02 we need more info on dgr’s old college day
Maybe all of Dave’s college days is just an uno mas level.
Ghost Yoshi was awesome
In the first level, the launcher on the left is less than 1/3 of a pixel farther away than the one on the right when you are standing on the left
You couldn't handle Ghost Yoshi? But you were WEARING Ghost Yoshi the whole time! Coincidence? I think not!
the way yoshi whas able to go thru the munchers is the fact that the munchers unload and reload
9:19 Watch the Spike Top in 0.25 speed.
17:22
Larl made a level with that mechanic in it. it was a kaizo though.
7:38 We found the *BLJ* in SM3DW game style buddy.
I'm pretty sure people were doing muncher pushing with note blocks back in Mario Maker 1. Hardly qualifies as a new discovery.
