My knees don't allow me to surf anymore, but you never really stop being a surfer. Point is, when this swell hit, the first place I thought of was El Capitan as a perfect destination. It's a great but fussy point that needs a decent swell to really show its stuff. So good thinking on your part. :-)
Nice video and music. Perfect. Surfed El Cap point a ton between 1975-82. This really reminded me of those days. Jalama also. Ranch too There is a fantastic stand up barrel from the Creek to where every body is taking off from in this footage. But, gotta be At least Ten feet more like Twelve feet. and inbetween tides. I got mine there the day Shaun Thomsen showed up in Winters 1977-8. Really massive swells, long wet Winter rains and consistent North and huge West swells. From Rincon to the Ranch. Surfed John Bardbury gunns. Made for this coast. Long 7-8' narrow 19" wide soft nose rails really turned up for late drops on long points and reefs.
I have, and it's fun b/c it's still a long wave that doesn't close out. The campground for our overnight stay was very nice as well, and it was a pleasant experience. But yeah, we passed up 4-5 ft. crowded surf at Rincon for something maybe half the size and crowded as well.
the flamenco segment is fantastic! epitomizes the vibe of california surfing!
Beautiful video! And the music, too.
I've heard about the surf there . But never have seen it . Very good video and the music a great choice For The Capitan ....

Had some of the best surfs of my life at this spot several winters ago.
Had it good only once. Great wave.
I'd hate to see a small day at this spot :)

Unfortunately that’s most days😅
I wonder how Refugio did those days?
Weird direction and small. Surprises me by how big SD was
