True that mate! The main thing I learned was how much there is to learn, and how much of it is natural talent, it was an honour to be invited along to her shop for a few lessons!
I have family that owned an upholstery shop for years. I always like to watch the craftsmanship that goes into their work. Your friend obviously knows her stuff! For some reason, motorcycle seats are the best version of upholstery - maybe I'm biased.
It looks fantastic, Del! It's interesting that many on the iconic shapes that stand the test of time, like a Coca Cola bottle or an old Corvette Stingray follow the curves of the human female form. Your Sportster has similar flowing lines, from the highs of the top of the tank to the lowest parts of the saddle, to the hump, or "ump", depending on where you're from, rounding off pleasingly. Wimmens's curvaceous shapes are all around us, and that's fine by me! :)
Seeing that final result after all the preliminary cutting and gluing and shaping is quite a wonder to behold! If I had attempted that, the result would have been more like a Frankenstein monster of lumpy wrinkly material, crooked stitches, misaligned staples, and bolts sticking out everywhere, hahaha. This great episode went by far too quickly. All that hard work done being distilled down into a few short minutes, but Bravo!
Thank you very much buddy, we were a little limited to how much creative filming we could do with somebody who's not only working in limited space, but also not used to being filmed, so we covered the basic points and, hopefully, it made good wacthing...thank you so much for your support as always!
A nice custom touch! I've reupholstered a few car seats, but my sewing machine won't handle leather. If I ever figure out what I need to eat to start crapping money, I'll get a nice Juki leather machine like the one at your upholsterer's.
Yes indeed Paul, something that many customer's don't realise is the investment of professionals in proper industrial equipment on top of years of experience and talent.

Hi Del , I think it's always a bit of a trade off when it comes to seats , aesthetics vs comfort , but given the way I feel at present after a decent ride out I'd swap my La Pera Silhouette for yours anytime. What a fantastic job the lady did and so interesting to watch.
You make some absolutely spot on points there mate, I've had both Le Pera Silhouette and Bare Bones seats, and I've probably still got lingering back issues to prove it!
