I have family that owned an upholstery shop for years. I always like to watch the craftsmanship that goes into their work. Your friend obviously knows her stuff! For some reason, motorcycle seats are the best version of upholstery - maybe I'm biased.

I totally agree mate, and with the curves and shapes in bike seats, I think it's possibly the most challenging technically too!

It looks fantastic, Del! It's interesting that many on the iconic shapes that stand the test of time, like a Coca Cola bottle or an old Corvette Stingray follow the curves of the human female form. Your Sportster has similar flowing lines, from the highs of the top of the tank to the lowest parts of the saddle, to the hump, or "ump", depending on where you're from, rounding off pleasingly. Wimmens's curvaceous shapes are all around us, and that's fine by me! :)

Seeing that final result after all the preliminary cutting and gluing and shaping is quite a wonder to behold! If I had attempted that, the result would have been more like a Frankenstein monster of lumpy wrinkly material, crooked stitches, misaligned staples, and bolts sticking out everywhere, hahaha. This great episode went by far too quickly. All that hard work done being distilled down into a few short minutes, but Bravo!

Well done. A combination of three personal skills. Plus you managed to get tank and seat without a gap. Have a great weekend, open a bottle to celebrate. Günter/Nürnberg

Thanks mate, that's very kind... it was a real treat to be in the upholstery shop and to get some priceless lessons in just how difficult it actually is!

Upholstery work is such an art form in my opinion. Yet the pros make it look so easy. It was nice that your friend let you get some hands-on work on the seat too. The design , pattern and shape look spot on to me. It was nice of you to give the young lady's shop a shout out. (we have an Andover, New Hampshire over here🙂) Thanks to you and Penny for showing us all of the phases of this awesome build. Blessings and peace my friends. ❤👍👍
