I’m 17 and Been on this tour twice, once in 2018 and again 3 years later. Fascinating history and it was great to see that the old church got their pews back the second time around, the story was that after the asylum closed, lots of stuff was given away at a ‘garage sale’ esque event. The individual who bought them to use for a church ended up donating them back to the asylum sometime between my visits. it’s a shame that its hard to maintain but that’s what you get with such a large, old property with the amazing number of buildings. Both times I voluntarily obliged and got pushed into the morgue. It’s a strange feeling some get where such a place feels inviting because of its history. Thanks for the video, can recommend the tour if you’re interested in learning more and seeing it for yourself.
Did the ghost tour here a few years ago and it was amazing! I did accidentally volunteer myself to be pushed into a morgue draw lol but it was really good otherwise!
I dreamt about this place five years ago. Been searching the internet ever since. Today my friend shared a tour she went on and I instantly recognised.
I forgot that the tour guides had to play down some of the history because of the kids. When I went I was close to getting sick from everything that happened in Aradale. It’s an amazing place but just sad.
I didn't know that there you go, I did a tour of pentridge prison a few months after it closed before it was demolished and some of the stories there were very full on. Cheers Daryl

also in pretty good condition too.
At 18mins and 56secsm whats that whispering that happens for a few seconds? Soundss like a women, or small child?
Navy XA i think it was my 4yo daughter trying to tell me something but only wispering to not talk over the tour guide.
I missed aradale but saw J ward. Pretty interesting but as long as you see one its all good. Ararat has some serious history.
And there's a nurse ghost in the asylum😀
can you search a relatives name and get answers???
I don't know, I'd think some government agency would have kept track of that

The wind in the audio is terrible - you can eliminate it in some editing 🌺
Blight on our history. Kids may find it fun yet many would be interned today.
+Simon Inglis yes some sad stories associated with this place.
so must go
+Mia Bulla you won't regret it
