However, the R n R HOF is bogus, They inducted garage bands, rap, and Nat King Cole! Its a biased organization. The merchandise center is Cleveland is cool.
Yep. For all the accolades given to Steely Dan, Little Feat are at least their equivalent in any way way considered- composition, musicianship, scope, arrangements etc, etc
Lowell didn't keep his "eyes on the road that's ahead of you." I miss him so much. To think that he could have spent the last 34 years making music, like Ry Cooder and John Hyatt has, makes me miss him that much more. "All That You Dream" was the national anthem for any 20-something, growing upduring the seventies, who valued Little Feat as much as anything worth living for. Now that we're old, we look backwards.
sorting my mind out aftr she just wemt to the after life--i cryed and hugged her the last time and the words came out Little Feet---looked it up here they were all along...
How about a word for Richie Hayward? Watch this again and listen for the drums. Amazing. Percussion is a perfect fit for the song and perfectly played.
I think it is sad and totally inappropriate that Lowell George's 'guitar' made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but Lowell himself did not. That is just lame...
What about village people? I’m being an idiot. I can remember being 7 and my siblings were dancing to village people on a New Year’s Eve tv show and my parents were cracking up. They were stones , CCRand Elton John fans

They were so good live. Particularly right around this time. Lowell in coveralls. What a hoot. Band was so loose and so tight all at the same time. Best Rhythm Section in all of Christendom. Payne is so good. Great ensemble player great soloist. Love the sound he got out of that OBERHEIM SYNH. Fare thee well Lowell. Solo Career killed him, it literally did.

I remeber this Rockpalast broadcast very well. Before the gig, the camera crew went in to LF's dressingroom and there was this fabulous jam going on in there. You knew right away that the concert would be something special.
When I look at who is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it's a travesty that Little Feat isn't there. There are some pretty obscure bands and solo artists in the Hall. Why not Little Feat? Jan Wenner must have a blind spot in his musical tastes. It's well known he didn't like Led Zeppelin and Rush. @rockandrollhalloffame
My Parents adored Lowell George and Little Feat.. They saw them two nights in a row in Sydney Australia in the 70's. Each night front row and Lowell handed them each night a autographed Maracca...
Saw the feat with traffic in the late 70s. They got 3 encores a d stole the show. Other that Tom Petty it was the best live show I've ever seen. GREAT LIVE BAND.!
Watching Lowell George play guitar is an object lesson in tasteful guitar playing. Like a horn player, he never crowds out the vocals or other instruments. The space between the notes matters as much as the notes themselves.
I was watching this on german TV that night in ´77, and man, from this night on I had one more favourite band! I´ve always been a guitar player in many bands. But when I asked them to play this song, the answer always was "oh, nobody knows that song". Still looking for a band that doesn´t have this sentence in their repertoire. I play el. and ac. guitars, and pedal steel guitar.
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you............where are we going? There is such a dearth of such from from the gut music getting their deserving exposure that I am glad to know these guys have maintained just enough word of mouth(and ear) that musicians in development stages of their craft have have an idea of what can be done if you stick to your heart,
Their very first gig was in Cincinnati Ohio at a club called Reflections. I escorted Lowell George to the stage, he paid me a fabulous compliment. Years later I actually met Bill Payne through Lynn Orman Weiss and was able to sing and record with him. This is MY favorite song of theirs.🌹
Tony Soprano (and his whole family for that matter) deserved to be whacked for taking off this song on the mini juke box on the last episode and putting on Journey.
Here you have the essential Little Feat THIS Great Band is worth more, way more than the crap that is out there today, I still see them when the come round.
Always a great show. I've prob seen them 6 or 7 times. Once with Lowell George at the Fox Theater in St. Louis a few years before he passed. So much talent at every instrument. Amazing show.
These guys had more than their share of ups and downs, but when they were right.. My God what a band! I've been fortunate to attend my share of fantastic concerts in my lifetime, including some of the legends (Hendrix, Zeppelin, The Who, Allmans, Police, Pink Floyd), and admittedly, for nearly all of them I was deeply under the influence of one or more illegal substances (including Feat), but to this day, I can vividly recall almost every single moment of Little Feat in 1977. How cool is that?
TIME: Summer of '75 PLACE: Connecticut River valley. Was hangin' out with a few coworkers and friends late one sunny summer morning smoking a few fat ones, listening to Dixie Chicken, enjoying a sweet "buzz" when suddenly our friend Arthur ,who was quietly reading Rolling Stone magazine said, and I quote, "it says here that Mick Jagger says Little Feat is his current favourite band. We who were all gathered in the living room of our rental house quietly enjoying listening to Feat with a glow collectively looked blankly, feeling altogether perfect, said nothing in response to our good friends news announcement. 😎 That's one of my more memorable moments listening to this GREAT BAND! "Where's my time machine? I wanna go back !"
My Favorite Song of Little Feat, followed by Old Folks Boogie ( "You know that you're over the hill, when your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill"...) I am getting there....but my mind is still invested in the old and fabulous rock and roll bands like Little Feat....even when I get over the hill! Pennsylvania Fan.
Saw them in April, ‘78 in a sold out Memphis auditorium. Still ranks in my top 10 best concerts of all time. Ole fat Lowell in those white overalls killed it! So tragic he was gone a year or two later.
Lowell was fired by zappa for writing songs. and i doubt he learned much from frank, their styles were miles apart. he most likely learned more from Ry Cooder.

Linda Ronstadt did a good version of this song. She and Lowell George were good friends. She did a cover of Willin that was also definitive. Keyboardist Billy Payne latter joined Ronstadt’s band and toured with her from about 1980-1983 until she stopped singing rock and roll to do standards and Mexican music.

WOW! - That would have been an amazing gig. Loved Lowell George & Little Feat since early 70s & have never let go. I never saw them live in Oz - wish I'd been in the States for longer to enjoy. SRV, the same - absolute legend - wish I'd seen him live. That as a double has to left a huge imprint on you. Lucky person. xxG
I saw Feat with the Tower of Power in April of 78. The greatest show I ever saw. Even the opening band John Hall had a career night .Couldn't beat the Feat in a 1900 seat auditorium, It was a $25.00ticket. Times are different now.
If any band ever deserved to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame it’s this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However, the R n R HOF is bogus, They inducted garage bands, rap, and Nat King Cole! Its a biased organization. The merchandise center is Cleveland is cool.
Absolutely correct. The 'R&R' Hall of Fame is corporate bull. Heavy metal ? Gimme strength !.
Damn, this band never got the accolades they deserve, one on the best rock bands when rock was at its peak.
Yep. For all the accolades given to Steely Dan, Little Feat are at least their equivalent in any way way considered- composition, musicianship, scope, arrangements etc, etc
The Lowell George era Little Feat were one of the greatest live bands to ever play. They were astounding live.
I saw them four times with Lowell. One of the best American bands of the 70's, no doubt at all.
Michael Gray nice. So fortunate to see!
Totally
I totally agree. Much better live than in the studio. Waiting For Columbus is one of the best live albums ever!
Fact Check: TRUE

yes
No question. Percussion makes it.
Such a tasteful drummer. Sophisticated but not flashy or ostentatious
I think it is sad and totally inappropriate that Lowell George's 'guitar' made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but Lowell himself did not. That is just lame...
why isn't Lowell George in the rock hall, but Madonna is???????
way beyond that
Very good question
Ah the 8th wonder of the world.
The rock 'n roll hall of shame isn't relevant. Just like the roscoe's aren't relevant to real film makers.
cus it is a f'in crime
Simply one of the best bands out of the 70's.
No argument here
What about village people? I’m being an idiot. I can remember being 7 and my siblings were dancing to village people on a New Year’s Eve tv show and my parents were cracking up. They were stones , CCRand Elton John fans
THE Best.
Not only the 70s...compare them to today's offerings....I'll still take them.

The most underrated band ever?
iono i rate the fuck out of them!
Little Feat was one of the best bands ever,,,
Not by anyone who knows!
Yes indeed.
Imagine seeing this line up,
Marshall tucker
Lynard Skynard
Allman Brothers
Little Feat
Grateful Dead
They could each put on a 4 -5 hour session back to back .
Why the question mark at the end of your comment? They definitely were and are the most underrated band...👣
Little Feat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Poco. All criminally underated!
Lowell George remains one of my most cherished musical heroes. The music Little Feat made was so effing good... nobody comes close to this true American band.
Hell to the yeah!

Certainly great, but thank God they're not the only great American/Americana band. Thank God!
@@krysti2 LOL. Just listening to this and about halfway through I couldn't help singing along.
Waiting For Columbus is the best sounding live album recorded...Tower Of Power horns were amazing
Very true.

I wish I could have seen Little Feat during their prime! But I do have many albums! I am very fortunate!

I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
All, all that you dream
Comes through shinin silver lining
Clouds, clouds change the scene
Rain starts washing all these cautions
Right into your life, makes you realize
Just what is true, what else can you do
You just follow the rule
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
All of the good, good times were ours
In the land of milk and honey
And time, time adds its scars
Rainy days they turn to sunny ones

Hmm. I saw Little Feat back in the day. Never caught Tom Petty. That would've been pretty cool.
That was a contrast in musical styles. Traffic was sooo laid back beginning with Low Spark.
