However, the R n R HOF is bogus, They inducted garage bands, rap, and Nat King Cole! Its a biased organization. The merchandise center is Cleveland is cool.
Yep. For all the accolades given to Steely Dan, Little Feat are at least their equivalent in any way way considered- composition, musicianship, scope, arrangements etc, etc
How about a word for Richie Hayward? Watch this again and listen for the drums. Amazing. Percussion is a perfect fit for the song and perfectly played.
Yes indeed. Imagine seeing this line up, Marshall tucker Lynard Skynard Allman Brothers Little Feat Grateful Dead They could each put on a 4 -5 hour session back to back .
Lowell didn't keep his "eyes on the road that's ahead of you." I miss him so much. To think that he could have spent the last 34 years making music, like Ry Cooder and John Hyatt has, makes me miss him that much more. "All That You Dream" was the national anthem for any 20-something, growing upduring the seventies, who valued Little Feat as much as anything worth living for. Now that we're old, we look backwards.
sorting my mind out aftr she just wemt to the after life--i cryed and hugged her the last time and the words came out Little Feet---looked it up here they were all along...
The tightest groove anywhere. Brilliant. Saw the boys on a Warners triple bill in Pasadena, 1970s, with Ry Cooder and Captain Beefheart. Oh, for a time machine!
Lowell George remains one of my most cherished musical heroes. The music Little Feat made was so effing good... nobody comes close to this true American band.

I worked as a stagehand for the band at Brown U, less than a later than this video. Stage crewed for Lowell on his solo tour a few days before he died. Never forget either night.
over time me and my wife have collected everyone of their vinyl records and a DVD live performance from Germany they are the greatest band ever and the Lowell era was even a cut above
They were so good live. Particularly right around this time. Lowell in coveralls. What a hoot. Band was so loose and so tight all at the same time. Best Rhythm Section in all of Christendom. Payne is so good. Great ensemble player great soloist. Love the sound he got out of that OBERHEIM SYNH. Fare thee well Lowell. Solo Career killed him, it literally did.
I've been down, but not like this before Can't be 'round this kind of show no more All, all that you dream Comes through shinin silver lining Clouds, clouds change the scene Rain starts washing all these cautions Right into your life, makes you realize Just what is true, what else can you do You just follow the rule Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you I've been down, but not like this before Can't be 'round this kind of show no more All of the good, good times were ours In the land of milk and honey And time, time adds its scars Rainy days they turn to sunny ones Livin' the life, livin' the life lovin' everyone I've been down, but not like this before Can't be 'round this kind of show no more I've been down, but not like this before Can't be 'round this kind of show no more I've been down, but not like this before
Watching Lowell George play guitar is an object lesson in tasteful guitar playing. Like a horn player, he never crowds out the vocals or other instruments. The space between the notes matters as much as the notes themselves.
Their very first gig was in Cincinnati Ohio at a club called Reflections. I escorted Lowell George to the stage, he paid me a fabulous compliment. Years later I actually met Bill Payne through Lynn Orman Weiss and was able to sing and record with him. This is MY favorite song of theirs.🌹
Aw my late older brother had all their vinyl 33"inch LP collection...which he still has in his garage at his home & even thou he has gone to that after life above..his LP collections which he has over 1,000..still gets played today..to remember..my bro...of all the bands that he had collected over the years until his dying day back on March 1st 2010 in Auckland New Zealand....his favorite band of all time was Jimi Hendrix...Pink Floyd, Santana..Little Feat..etc..

Was hangin' out with a few coworkers and friends late one sunny summer morning smoking a few fat ones, listening to Dixie Chicken, enjoying a sweet "buzz" when suddenly our friend Arthur ,who was quietly reading Rolling Stone magazine said, and I quote, "it says here that Mick Jagger says Little Feat is his current favourite band. My Favorite Song of Little Feat, followed by Old Folks Boogie ( "You know that you're over the hill, when your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill"...) I am getting there....but my mind is still invested in the old and fabulous rock and roll bands like Little Feat....even when I get over the hill! Pennsylvania Fan.
Saw them in April, ‘78 in a sold out Memphis auditorium. Still ranks in my top 10 best concerts of all time. Ole fat Lowell in those white overalls killed it! So tragic he was gone a year or two later.
I saw Feat with the Tower of Power in April of 78. The greatest show I ever saw. Even the opening band John Hall had a career night .Couldn't beat the Feat in a 1900 seat auditorium, It was a $25.00ticket. Times are different now.
These guys had more than their share of ups and downs, but when they were right.. My God what a band! I've been fortunate to attend my share of fantastic concerts in my lifetime, including some of the legends (Hendrix, Zeppelin, The Who, Allmans, Police, Pink Floyd), and admittedly, for nearly all of them I was deeply under the influence of one or more illegal substances (including Feat), but to this day, I can vividly recall almost every single moment of Little Feat in 1977. How cool is that?
When I look at who is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it's a travesty that Little Feat isn't there. There are some pretty obscure bands and solo artists in the Hall. Why not Little Feat? Jan Wenner must have a blind spot in his musical tastes. It's well known he didn't like Led Zeppelin and Rush. @rockandrollhalloffame
I saw Little Feat at the Capital Theater in Passaic NJ in ,1976, We we're seated and enjoying a in completely different Band . We were there on the wrong night. We went back 2 days later to see if Leon Redmond open for Little Feat
I was at largo md where parts of waiting for Columbus was recorded and i know i was on thst album. Always a great show. I've prob seen them 6 or 7 times. Once with Lowell George at the Fox Theater in St. Louis a few years before he passed. So much talent at every instrument. Amazing show.
WOW! - That would have been an amazing gig. Loved Lowell George & Little Feat since early 70s & have never let go. I never saw them live in Oz - wish I'd been in the States for longer to enjoy. SRV, the same - absolute legend - wish I'd seen him live. That as a double has to left a huge imprint on you. Lucky person. xxG
I was a graduateRN and every chance we'd go out n dance! LOVED LF . There has never been a group like them. Noone can/ could replace Lowell !! Still listening to them. OMG! please keep playing these♥️♥️
What year did you see Little Feat at Toads Place? It's not a big venue at all. I used to see my friends the Simms Brothers band play there alot back in the 70s.
I think it is sad and totally inappropriate that Lowell George's 'guitar' made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but Lowell himself did not. That is just lame...
If any band ever deserved to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame it’s this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However, the R n R HOF is bogus, They inducted garage bands, rap, and Nat King Cole! Its a biased organization. The merchandise center is Cleveland is cool.
Absolutely correct. The 'R&R' Hall of Fame is corporate bull. Heavy metal ? Gimme strength !.
Who is listening in 2024? Long live Little Feat!! 👍.
Erryone who knows...?
Every year since 1973
The Lowell George era Little Feat were one of the greatest live bands to ever play. They were astounding live.
I saw them four times with Lowell. One of the best American bands of the 70's, no doubt at all.
Michael Gray nice. So fortunate to see!
Totally
I totally agree. Much better live than in the studio. Waiting For Columbus is one of the best live albums ever!
Fact Check: TRUE
Damn, this band never got the accolades they deserve, one on the best rock bands when rock was at its peak.
Yep. For all the accolades given to Steely Dan, Little Feat are at least their equivalent in any way way considered- composition, musicianship, scope, arrangements etc, etc
It's like, something your born into.
One way out, trapped 😂
How about a word for Richie Hayward? Watch this again and listen for the drums. Amazing. Percussion is a perfect fit for the song and perfectly played.
yes
No question. Percussion makes it.
Such a tasteful drummer. Sophisticated but not flashy or ostentatious
The most underrated band ever?
iono i rate the fuck out of them!
Little Feat was one of the best bands ever,,,
Not by anyone who knows!
Yes indeed.
Imagine seeing this line up,
Marshall tucker
Lynard Skynard
Allman Brothers
Little Feat
Grateful Dead
They could each put on a 4 -5 hour session back to back .
Why the question mark at the end of your comment? They definitely were and are the most underrated band...👣
Little Feat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Poco. All criminally underated!
Lowell didn't keep his "eyes on the road that's ahead of you." I miss him so much. I'm hooked on their videos...
And we all started singing along...I'll be your Dixie Chicken if you'll be my Tennessee Lamb ...
Certainly great, but thank God they're not the only great American/Americana band. Thank God!
@@krysti2 LOL. Just listening to this and about halfway through I couldn't help singing along.
The unsung engine: Take a bow for Richie Hayward!
You know he went on to play with Robert Plant on his post led zep work in 80s
I once had a Spiritual Experience to this Song. Anyone else?
Oh Yeeeaaahhh!!!
absolutely,so many Feat songs reson ate to my deep soul living
It does not EVER get better than this! Hoy hoy! Love the interaction between Paul and Lowell...what a great song!
Little Feat is timeless.I have been a fan since the 60’s.
Simply one of the best bands out of the 70's.
No argument here
What about village people? I’m being an idiot. I can remember being 7 and my siblings were dancing to village people on a New Year’s Eve tv show and my parents were cracking up. They were stones , CCRand Elton John fans
THE Best.
Not only the 70s...compare them to today's offerings....I'll still take them.
Kenny Gradney is one hellava Bassist.
Only Little Feat fans know what "finese jams" are This band is pure from one side of the stage to the other

Just so tight. The perfect mix of musicians. My favortite band since 1974

Waiting For Columbus is the best sounding live album recorded...Tower Of Power horns were amazing
Very true.
over time me and my wife have collected everyone of their vinyl records and a DVD live performance from Germany they are the greatest band ever and the Lowell era was even a cut above
Lowell also "produced" the Grateful Dead album, Shakedown Street.
Little Feat should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
Still miss Lowell. No one like him!
Happy 70th Birthday to Lowell, age 34. Still killin it somewhere I'm certain. Always missed.

“Rainy days, they turn to sunny ones”
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
All, all that you dream
Comes through shinin silver lining
Clouds, clouds change the scene
Rain starts washing all these cautions
Right into your life, makes you realize
Just what is true, what else can you do
You just follow the rule
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
All of the good, good times were ours
In the land of milk and honey
And time, time adds its scars
Rainy days they turn to sunny ones
Livin' the life, livin' the life lovin' everyone
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
I've been down, but not like this before

I've been down, but not like this before
Saw these guys at Orpheum---- STILL got it !!!!❤
I like that comment about this song being a national anthem for anyone growing up in the 70s.
This song and anything else Little Feat made rocks....
why isn't Lowell George in the rock hall, but Madonna is???????
way beyond that
Very good question
Ah the 8th wonder of the world.
The rock 'n roll hall of shame isn't relevant. Just like the roscoe's aren't relevant to real film makers.
cus it is a f'in crime

David Crosby thought Little Feat one of the very best old bands....
And he's not an easy pleaser...true they are...

Well, he's right but who cares what Crosby thinks, anyway.

Brilliantly stated sir. The groove is infectious.
What an awesome live sound. This song just hits the spot every time. Long live Little Feat!
theres been bands but not like this before or ever again!
Whatever else you want to say about this, you gotta love the energy George puts into his vocals.
Love the way Lowell bops onstage
Feats never fail especially when Lowell was alive. A great and tragic loss. So glad this video survives.
I dated a guitar player in 73 who raved about this band. Sadly I got into them after George passed-this video is great! Thanks for posting it!
