- Hi, friends! Welcome back to the socially anxious side of RUclips :)
My mind has been very cluttered lately so it seemed like the perfect time to declutter my environment. I decided to try the #KonMari Method by Marie Kondo. The key word here is *try*, haha. I got rid of quite a few clothing items and books, but the best part was re-organizing what I already had and utilizing more of my bedroom space. It feels a lot more open now and I feel relaxed as soon as I walk in the door. That's always the goal.
In any case, I hope you enjoyed this video and found it relaxing to watch! I tried to make it as satisfying as possible for you :)

The amount of happiness and satisfaction I felt when the organizers fit into your drawers is completely unreal. I wanted to faint.
Omg. Same here, haha! I bought them all at the dollar store so I wasn't sure about sizing but then I came home and they fit perfectly. SWOON.

I've watched every konmari video on YT and I have to say yours was... Something really different. I connected so much with your editing and everything. Id love to express myself better but I can't find the words in a foreign language. But I want you to know that I subscribed even if there are no more konmari videos to come. The fact that you decluttered when most people would think it was already done. I found Konmari two years ago and got rid of 70% of my stuff then more again when we moved house last year. Now I want to do it again after watching this.

I've found my breeds!!!
I can't afford to own multiple versions/copies of the same books as I already have around 700 books with only a couple of duplicates one being an autobiography I forgot I had and so bought a 2nd copy and a 2nd goosebumps book that my mum got me a second copy by mistake, can you tell I love to read though and I do own I think a single copy of each 7 harry potter books, the 3 spin off books and the play one, I to love harry potter :)

at first I was like "omg I couldn't live in that tiny tiny room!" but actually it's perfectly organized and has lots of places to keep things (and millions of books)... I'm kinda in love with your room now
It's quite small but that's why I purposely keep a tiny bed with the storage drawers underneath! More than enough room for me and all of my books, haha :P

I konmaried the hell out of my clothes and now I can fit my whole wardrobe in a large suitcase. It’s taken be 3-5 years to get my wardrobe to be this small and I’m proud of myself.
That's amazing! I'd like to do that one day as well. I feel like 90% of my wardrobe is made up of winter clothes are they are SO bulky. But really all anyone needs is one or two jackets/coats. Hopefully I can get to your level :) It feels really good when you know you only own the necessities.

I used the Konmari method and wasn't looking forward to the book part, but it actually helped a lot. Everything fits on my shelves now and I was able to unload some books that I had carried for years but never cracked open.

That was a great organization video. I am slowly embracing konmari and I loved how you did the bookshelves and brought them together and grouped the books by color. So colorful and artistic.

I would have reorganized them by size and then alphabetically but rainbow looks also nice despite different sizes! Thank you for making me think about the mess my books are in and the fact that I really have to get that done lol

LOVE! Just moving the furniture around made a huge impact in the overall feel of the room.
Yes! I just needed a change in the atmosphere and moving the furniture to different walls really helped with that, haha :P
I kind of wish my room was a little messier so I could organize it again lol. (especially being stuck at home in quarantine) It was a very satisfying video to watch!

I did the same thing recently and I feel like a new person! I'd definitely recommend doing this to all my friends who are starting their 20s soon and want an easy transition into adulthood.

You have a book addiction, I have a kindle for all but my very favourites. It's the words within that are important and the extra space makes me feel much better than all that paper which I might or might not read.
I can't tell if you're being rude or not, haha. Some people spend their money going out and I spend it on books instead. That's okay if it's not your personal preference :) I've read over 300 of these books already and the few I haven't read yet will be read before the end of this year. Holding physical books brings me joy. Remember how old I was when I read it or how I acquired the book just adds to the value for me. I have a story for every single one. A lot of them are autographed. Some are collector's editions. I'm really glad you found a process that works for you but this is what works for me :)
Some of us love the feel, smell, and the look of real books. The covers can be works of art; in themselves. I never want a Kindle or Nook.

Loved it new sub here. It all looks fab. As your books and shelves are most favourite thing I would probably pull out shelves and have my bed hidden against that wall and have shelves in front so that your sleep part is separate an you can see full shelves and desk when u walk into your room and your lovely window seat it would be like having two rooms in one xx
OMG, that is such a good idea. I was just imagining it while I read your comment, haha. I might try something like that one day but I'd have to be careful because it can be dangerous if the shelves are not leaning against a wall. Thank you for the comment though! I love that!

@@LaylaBetweenTheLines and you will have the back of the book cases to attach your wish lists and plans and travel etc. You can put cork mat on it x

Thank you! I like the rainbow shelves because it adds a lot of colour to my very grey room, haha. Luckily I am very good with remembering book covers/colours so everything is still easy to find when the books are organized like this :)

Rainbow Shelves is a nice idea for photography reasons but i could never it would take too long to find any book and i couldn’t deal with splitting up a series

i cant imagine giving up a single one of my books. we arent very well off so the books i have i saved up for for months and i cant imagine giving them up, ever, even if it means i live in a library.
Trust me, it was very difficult to do. I've been collecting all of these since I was ten years old. Most of the books I donated were ones I found at the secondhand store for very cheap, or found for free at public libraries. The nice thing about donating these books is that someone else, people who can't afford to buy brand new books, can now find them for really cheap at a used bookstore :) I think it would be selfish of me to keep these few that I don't read when someone else out there might love to own and read these books.

You're not alone :P Lots of people feel that way. I like to reorganize them every month just to change things up a bit. They'll probably be alphabetical next month, haha.

@@libbysreadingcorner9564 I highly recommend getting one of those reading pillows for your bed if you don't already have one! They're only $10 and make reading in bed super comfy. It almost makes your bed feel like a reading nook :)

Youre so lucky to have so many books, I have a whole wall of them, but theyre all for young children so I need to borrow books.
A lot of my books are for children as well, or at least I bought them when I was a child :P But yes, it is lovely to have a wall of books nonetheless. Borrowing books from the library is my favourite thing to do :) I usually save up money on the side to buy my favourite books after I've borrowed them and loved them.

Bookcase definitely triggered me, you can't get access the quality of the third unit. I would have taken the narrow unit brought if forward and put it in the left-hand corner by the window seat (where the book pile is on the floor). That way the larger units could go together and you would be able to access them all fully. But that's just me 😊.
I tried doing that before but it didn't fit perfectly and it looked weird :P But thank you for the tip. For now I just have books that I won't re-read soon in the hidden corner. I might be getting rid of my bed and just sleeping on a mattress soon, haha.
