This show always confused me. I watched the Aussie version with Kane and Scotty as the hosts and I KNEW it couldn't be filmed in Australia but one of the defenders was Kook who was an Aussie ABC3 host and I couldn't figure out if they actually had him go all the way to Canada just for the show.
They ruined abc3 it's now just ABC Kids but for like 8 year olds

It's sad really. They didn't even bother to pack up once the show ended preferring to just let the entire set sit and rot. Which is good for me considering I like seeing abandoned places and think of them as a sorta like a time capsule of a different era and time.

Dude I used to watch this back in middle school when it was on Netflix lol! I always wanted to be on that show (even though it was a Canadian show and I lived in the US). So sad to see something I admired as a kid just abandoned and rotted away. Glad it’s not super vandalized though.

probably the ratings started to fall or it became a health and safety issue. It could also be down to the budget YTV had, they may not of been able to fund it.

I remember wanting to compete in splat a lot so badly when I was a kid. I think I was 9 and I looked it up and found out that you had to be 14 in order to compete. I planned on waiting the 5 years until I could go but the show was gone by then. This was trip down memory lane

Seriously, it's a miracle ABC didn't sue the hell out of them for copying almost everything about Wipeout, down to the narrators' personalities.
Tokyo Broadcasting System sued ABC for 'copying' Takeshi's Castle. I think the case was dismissed, but if ABC did sue this show, TBS would be on them instantly.
The show's rights where sold to them, TBS wouldn't sue someone if they sold the rights to them in the first place. I have years in TV broadcast.

Anyone who watched ABC 3 in late 00s early 10s will remember this show aired loads of times. Nostalgic as all hell
Took a trip down here a few years back as I live relatively close by. Was mind blown as I watched the show as a kid but never knew it was filmed so close to where I live. Its in a very weird area and is in perfect view to a few houses near by. We couldn't stay long as we were spotted by the property owner and had to jet before cops came. Whoever owns the property doesn't like people stopping by for obvious reasons and is known for calling cops as soon as he sees some dumb kids running around the place. Its really creepy and even sketchier than this video makes it look. I'm pretty sure its demolished now but I'm glad I saw it while it was still there. Its not everyday you get to be on a set of a tv show you watched so much as a kid.

I used to love this show and I wanted to be a contestant on it... instead of abandoning this completely what they could have done is make it into a I guess theme park thing where you can pay a certain amount of money and you get to do all 3 rounds and it would have been awesome

The way this is edited, going in and out between tv clips and the abandoned park, with the music and the subtle audio from the show at some parts gave this such an eerie vibe.

HalfBreedMix Wipeout is like that. Even back then me and my brother agreed that Wipeout was better because they always shifted around their obstacles, while Splatalot never changed shit
They changed it in series 2 I believe. it didn't look like it does in this video in series 1.

what I like about this channel is that they show the place when it was in its glory and most other exploring channels didn't.
