Got hold of a Minifreak last week, superb synthesizer. I've been buying synthesizers, etc since the mid 80s, and I have to admit, I'm really blown away by the sound and possibilities of the Minifreak, - especially considering the price, - every synth head should own one, it provides ALL those digital Eurocrack tones and more, plus the modulation needed to create unique textures, endlessly. The poly SEM vcf section sounds sublime and the effects are top quality, easily the best effects I've ever heard on a synth of this price, - and may actually be the best effects section I've ever heard on any synth. love to ALL, feel no hate
Nice stocking fillers! A lot of minikeys in this mix, I'd like a rackable module version of Malevolent and Minifreak The Blue Marvin/Gray Meanie 2600s actually have a real spring reverb.. the original christmas tree lights BARP 2600 has the digital spring 🎄
Great recommendations Me has got quite some virtual synths on the shelf (via an older NI Komplete license and some ...) BUT there is nothing more fun than turing real knobs on a real synth❗ So i opted for some low range (and low priced) thingies like Volka and UNO ... Your video is expanding my wish list quite a bit 🤣 Thanks a lot for sharing 👍
I recently picked up a Cobalt 8D for $599 on sale and a "BonoPoly" for $606 also on sale just before that. Both have been fantastic. If they ever ship the Pro 800 at that price I will definitely get that as well...
I do a two band filter sweep in every beat and or song, I just like the sound effect, all software though, I dont bother doing it with physical sythersizors.
I would encourage you to mention the least divy synths under $800 ?🤔 Modal Cobalt 8, Mini Brute 2 for combo modular simplicitu, Korgs Wavestate/opsix6/mini logue, Rolands Tr series?
Out of all those and I know Jack n co are here to sell gear, but hands down the Arturia Mini is best value here. The Malevolent is a close 2nd for some nice patch work and dirty sounds, the others I would not consider unless I already had everything I needed. Thx for the upload xD
@Rhizosphere It's actually a bit of a pad monster, not to the echelon of Sequential, Oberhiem, Moog, but at the $ level it sits, I know of no other synth that can do what it can do.
When jack does sound design (and production) its sounds like this.. The opening sequence and 'noises off' during this video!!! ruclips.net/video/ynbMSB3W9fU/видео.html
And yet here you are commenting on a "best synths under £600" video. They're just tools for making music, you might as well say i'm so sick of drum kits.
Hydrasynth is my favorite for sure, but that's a gorgeous selection
A great look back. Happy Holidays Jack and Falcon! Looking forward to what you bring in 2023.

I have the micro and had the same exact thoughts, and the mini is definitely a significant leap from that.
Got the VST version, it's great.

11:17 Thank you for the Falcon camera and microphone setup. I hope you continue to work that into videos. :)
Great tune at the end!
Minilogue xd. Best value for money.
Huge thanks, I needed this!
Lovely devices. I was thinking to but the freak. But playing live I need real size keys. Pity, hardware and software integration is perfect
What a time to be alive indeed
Every single choice here is spot on. Cannot go wrong with any of them. Von Schnooby approved 👍
Damn, dat malevolent. Love how nasty it can be. But is it something the hydrasynth or Minifreak can't do, if youcd decide between those? °^°

I got the BonoPoly, tried patches made by others. I hated it. 6 months later, I tried again but with my patches. I'm in love with it now.
@@dictabeat for me it is an arp exploration machine, especially through a sync'd delay with optional reverb smear and pitch shifting.
Agree, those are fullblood synths all of them. I prefer cobolt 8 though and I would switch the 2600 for a d.
That malvol... Wow
I'm waiting for the arturia superfreak

Modal Cobalt 8,
Mini Brute 2 for combo modular simplicitu,
Korgs Wavestate/opsix6/mini logue,
Rolands Tr series?
How about Korg Opsix?
The BassStation II is still a great little synth imho, or is it discontinued?
I'm surprised it didn't make this list as well. And no it's not discontinued.
I missed the Behringer Model D in the list. It sounds good and it´s also WAY under 600 Pounds.
Likely cause its older
Mini keys, slim keys and micro keys. But, where's Arturia Minibrute?
Nice vid guys. Thx 🙏
Whatever you’re playing on the hydra synth- it’s amazing. What a tune. Did you just come up with that?
MS-20 And MS-10 should be on that list IMO!

sick
Hard to compare synths when there are external effects…
I’m sorry mate 😔

Huh? It's right there!
@@tb80038 Silly me. Serves me right for fast forwarding through!
Unpopular opinion: I hate minikeys.
I am so sick of synthesizers.. the whole consuming for dopamine makes me go hollow.
The world makes me hollow....synthesizers are the light in the endless abyss.

ASM hydrasynth is over 1000 dollars....
The explorer version is£500
Great list. The Minifreak is my kind of jam
