Thank you for this. I just participated in my first mud run and while the wall was only 8ft, it had no toe hold. I was the only one in my group willing to give it a go & I looked like I knew what I was doing.
+Joe Orlando The same wall-run technique will still work with a sheer 10-foot wall, though. I agree the helper step isn't necessary if you know how to use a flat wall, but it doesn't actually change the execution that much if it's there. You might need a little more momentum going into the wall and the right pair of shoes to make sure you get a solid grip, but otherwise it's the same move. One thing I don't like, though, is the leg-swing technique this guy is using to mount the wall. Especially with his athleticism, he should be investigating more efficient ways of popping himself up onto those things.
+Redbeard The Pink agreed. he should continue his motion into a pull-up straight into a heel hook, not stopping and then using only his arms and core to flag himself up to heel hook.
+Tony Teh As long as you actually get your heel all the way over, you should be able to grip with the joint itself without having to worry about slippage much.
Yeah, you could definitely experience foot slippage during a wall run attempt if you and/or the wall are covered in mud, but it's something to be compensated for. It doesn't make the move impossible, you just have to be aware of your footing and pay more attention to the technique. Mud does have some grit to it, so it doesn't completely eliminate traction; you just have to be a little more careful.
Redbeard The Pink Thanks for the advice! Now I'd just need to find a wooden wall and some mud to try it out. But I think I get what you mean by focusing on the technique.
1) You can do a muscle up, which is really easy if you have your legs working with it. Faster ascent 2) When you get to the other side of the wall, push your heels onto the wall, just enough to get friction, let go with your hands, twist, and then push your legs off, and twist them with your body. Faster descent. If you're jumping too hard, I suggest you end it with a roll.
If the wall is 10ft, and theres a step on it 4 feet up, then anyone at 6'' and above can easily climb it, and anyone slightly below should, although maybe not easily, then with fairly little effort, be able to do it as well.
its good but this is how i do it: 1 step: run to the wall 2 step: do a 1 step wall run 3 step: get a good grip on the edge of the wall 4 step: get to a cat possition 5 step: jump and do a little help with the hands. its something like 0:55
that is great, my technique is kind of a mix of the first 2 techniques, more parkour oriented, first i run and jump and hang on to the top of the wall as the second technique and then do a cat position just as the first technique to get to the top of the wall, great video :)
I'm 5'6" and I've done a bunch of Tough Mudders. If you want to wow people, run and push off the bottom, pull yourself up, and then flip over the wall as opposed to sitting atop.
I came here expecting to learn how to climb a 10ft wall, what I learned is that I already know how to climb a 10ft wall and I just wasted 5 minutes of my life.
Tip: when driving up the wall, poinst your chest upwards towards. Try to jump laterally and then jump vertically, the difference is the directiont you point your chest.
Not helpful. All the OCR I've done do not have a 2x4 ledge for foot placement, at least not on the MENs wall. The Woman's wall has a board nailed to it.
When you run de Ultra Spartan that 10 feet wall doesn't have that little step or if it's there is only allowed to be use by the Spartan girls. It's either you climb a 10 FEET WALL, or you have to be penalized and do your burpees
Do people think this is so hard? Me and my classmates did this on 2 grade on a wall that was for kicking soccer balls at it and it was over twice as high than we were and because it was made of wooden planks some of the planks sticked a pit out and we used that and climbed over the wall.
That's not a ten foot wall lol it has a ledge! It's at most an eight foot wall. If you could tell me how I'd get over a ten foot wall unaided, I'd be impressed ;)
Before climbing wall:OH HELL NO. During climbing wall:(battle cry) After climbing wall:Oh that wasn't so bad, (sees another wall that's 20 ft high.) MOTHER FU-
I genuinely need to be able to get over a 9ft wall. I saw this video like yeah this should help.. He's got a fucking step a quarter way up so that now makes the wall about 6-7ft I can get over a 7ft wall.... Useless
I'm Mexican and I find this video really help full, really, really help full.
Lol haha thanks for the laugh
No problem. I just had to throw that in their. Lol...
+Luis Johnson Epic comment mate!
+Henric Carlsson thank you. I hit a home run on that one
If ur Mexican you should all ready know this iv been Mexican for 3 months now I just jump and I go flying over it and the popo can't catch me
the wall is only 8ft once you're on the step.
This video is Trumps worst nightmare... Mexico thanks you.
Would you look at that? A step on a wall, how convenient. Just look at it. Look at that.
so tru3
Yes I'm pretty sure every 10 ft wall has that, it pretty much makes it a 7 ft wall
How would it be possible without it thiko
parkour
+Krazy Llamas 123 It wouldn't, its actually impossible.
I happen to be Latino/"Mexican" and I found this very helpful for training to jump trumps wall. Thanks for the vid! Very helpful!!
When he flipped his cap, you knew things were about to get real.
so what do you do when the wall doesnt have a convenient little girly step and youre alone?
Literally copied top comment.
Subsy ??? i didnt even see that, comment i just replied to this one...
+Fraydizs I wasn't talking to u?
Subsy oh hmm when your comment showed up in my feed it showed up as a reply for some reason :/
+Fraydizs ah
Step one scratch ballsack 1:56
Step two turn cap backwards 2:18
Step three ???
Step four profit!
Lmao
Omg i just saw him itch his sack
Step 1: Pick a wall with a built in stepping board ;)
Ikr that just makes it easy
Yas
Trump plans to build a 20 ft wall, make tutorial for 20 ft wall.
Oh my good. XD. So funny
lol
+Nicholas Coulter trump will install steps on the wall to climb
what if there not tall
Nicholas Coulter we all remember what happened to the berlin wall... trumps wall ain't doing shit
I can get over these so easily.. The guy showing us what to do it making it look a lot harder than it actually is.
im litterally watching this on my sofa while drinking a beer. There is probably no way il need this. But its nice to know
what if my wall is 10.1ft
Then ur ded
+leter pou
I suggest you apply for a Visa
Thank you for this. I just participated in my first mud run and while the wall was only 8ft, it had no toe hold. I was the only one in my group willing to give it a go & I looked like I knew what I was doing.
'Don't run into the wall, run up the wall.' wow. thanks I didnt know that
this saved me from a dog chase ,so much thanks
Thats great if you have that foot rest at the bottom except the Spartan Races dont have that, they dont allow training wheels.
+Joe Orlando Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. Not really helpful as it is not a straight 10 foot wall.
+Joe Orlando The same wall-run technique will still work with a sheer 10-foot wall, though. I agree the helper step isn't necessary if you know how to use a flat wall, but it doesn't actually change the execution that much if it's there. +Redbeard The Pink agreed. he should continue his motion into a pull-up straight into a heel hook, not stopping and then using only his arms and core to flag himself up to heel hook.
Why is there a step? Is that like the training wheels equivalent for 10ft walls?
i have an 11 foot wall have been meaning to climb. Will this method still work?
Awesome but what was the name of that song at the beginning
Darude Sandstorm
RedHawkHD But which song?
Why is this recommended?
Will your foot grip the wall for the heel hook when it's full of mud?
+Tony Teh As long as you actually get your heel all the way over, you should be able to grip with the joint itself without having to worry about slippage much.
Redbeard The Pink What about the other foot that's supposed to be used to step onto the wall as a pivot to swing the hook foot up?
Yeah, you could definitely experience foot slippage during a wall run attempt if you and/or the wall are covered in mud, but it's something to be compensated for. It doesn't make the move impossible, you just have to be aware of your footing and pay more attention to the technique. Mud does have some grit to it, so it doesn't completely eliminate traction; you just have to be a little more careful.
Basically, if you're gonna try a wall-run on a 10-foot wall on a mud course, you probably want to be pretty good at them first.
Redbeard The Pink Thanks for the advice! Now I'd just need to find a wooden wall and some mud to try it out. But I think I get what you mean by focusing on the technique.
Wall , wall never changes
itchy balls technique at the 1:57 mark
1) You can do a muscle up, which is really easy if you have your legs working with it. Faster ascent
2) When you get to the other side of the wall, push your heels onto the wall, just enough to get friction, let go with your hands, twist, and then push your legs off, and twist them with your body. Faster descent. If you're jumping too hard, I suggest you end it with a roll.
Yeah that's all well and good but what if you need to get over a 10ft wall that doesn't have a bit of wood helping you boost your way up?
First you must learn to dunk
If the wall is 10ft, and theres a step on it 4 feet up, then anyone at 6'' and above can easily climb it, and anyone slightly below should, although maybe not easily, then with fairly little effort, be able to do it as well.
What if you're only 5ft 2inches?
Love your tutorials. so very useful!
Sometimes the wall is covered with mud also and it is too slippery to walk your feet up and use the heal hook. What then?
its good but this is how i do it:
1 step: run to the wall
2 step: do a 1 step wall run
3 step: get a good grip on the edge of the wall
4 step: get to a cat possition
5 step: jump and do a little help with the hands.
its something like 0:55
The 2x ledge makes that an 8' wall. 10' comes into play on the backside drop.
"10 foot" wall.. with foot rest... hahahah
1:56 dope bro
Video tutorials on how to climb walls...what a time to be alive!
1:22 when he turned his cap, shit just got real.
that is great, my technique is kind of a mix of the first 2 techniques, more parkour oriented, first i run and jump and hang on to the top of the wall as the second technique and then do a cat position just as the first technique to get to the top of the wall, great video :)
you played with your balls
rsdtyler?
I need to see that beard all muddy.
+Joe Duffy LOL Hilarious
Andrew LOL THANKS!
+Joe Duffy All Mudstacle films are a pointless waste of time
Tip: when driving up the wall, poinst your chest upwards towards. Try to jump laterally and then jump vertically, the difference is the directiont you point your chest.
This will be great for my military training
expecting lots of hate comments, guys, hes doing this for your convenience, show some appreciation
Jazz Greiner how else would you learn to climb a wall, grow webbed hands?
"This is very athletic; obviously."
A 10 feet wall with a built in stepping board for ease and a slight backward angle for difficulty...
can a 13 years old do that ?
I was hoping the second guy would faceplant into the wall, but oh well..
that's cute, you got a little step over there
You mean an 8 foot wall, right? That bar on the bottom makes it so you'd basically just need to raise your arms up and stand on your toes...
so how hard would this really be if there was no piece of wood to put your foot on. This is a really simple task.
must take notes for when i go back to usa
Mexican's guide to Donald Trump's uprise.
Take me to the top with you!
Get a job
you might as well have made a tutorial on how to climb an 8 foot wall
why is he taking a running start just to come to a complete stop again before the first move? :D
+Krizefugl for momentum, and it wasnt a complete stop
meant the non bearded shorter guy. there was literally no momentum involved in grabbing the supporting pole and stepping on the cheat board
I have climbed a wall big like that all I have to do is jump and put my hands up.
LAME! They cheated with their lil step.
You need a step for that? You can almost touch the top when you just stretch. Throw in a decent jump and you're over it in no time.
Nice background music
Any Mexicans watching to see how to jump a wall lol
+Spikey-gaming&more Nope just folks reading your comment and learning how to act like a racist.
or then you can just walk around it
Not helpful. All the OCR I've done do not have a 2x4 ledge for foot placement, at least not on the MENs wall. The Woman's wall has a board nailed to it.
Great water drop on the lens
When you run de Ultra Spartan that 10 feet wall doesn't have that little step or if it's there is only allowed to be use by the Spartan girls. It's either you climb a 10 FEET WALL, or you have to be penalized and do your burpees
hahaha
not a ten foot wall with that assist.
instructions not clear....donald trump thought i was mexican
Trump Does Not Aprove This Message.
peter itch 1:56
hehe
Do people think this is so hard? Me and my classmates did this on 2 grade on a wall that was for kicking soccer balls at it and it was over twice as high than we were and because it was made of wooden planks some of the planks sticked a pit out and we used that and climbed over the wall.
look at your palms, feeling sweaty?
Scratched his balls at 1:56
Shirtless while doing that would have been more fun to watch.
This video needs Mexican subtitles
i can climb a 12 foot wall with out a helping step...i'm 6 foot 1 inch and am 14 years old... not really amazing to get a 10 foot wall with a step...
I do Parkour so this is just absolutely hilarious to watch them climb this wall. No offense 😂
i could literally stand amd then jump straight up and grabb the top of the wall -_-
+Xboxblowz1011 not everyone is 6 foot
why is this recommended?
Well, I'm 5'2.....so less chance of me making it up there and more chance of me hurting myself. 'Dirty Dozen'...it's like from Criminal Minds x3
Are these guys 5ft wtf
Guys its all about timing, just go buy a clock, pretty sure you'll be able to climb like spiderman after you do.
Nice ball scratch shot there bud!............
1:54
That's not a ten foot wall lol it has a ledge! It's at most an eight foot wall. If you could tell me how I'd get over a ten foot wall unaided, I'd be impressed ;)
Nice know I can survive a zombie apocalypse
Love it
that was pretty bad .....
Why so many dislikes?
Thanks now I can run away much better when the cops are coming for me
i think you need speed. the first guy looked like he really didnt wanna do it. you gotta be hyped to do this
my parents build gates and fences for a living so I can get over or pass most walls XD
That wall dont look 10 feet to me.
+LackadaisicalE assume the bloke is 6 foot, the wall is nearly twice as high as him... so i think he's probably a few inches smaller
@Mexico
nice vid
"It's a timing thing"
*casually hangs in a half chin-up as he explains the details* I don't think this is all in the timing...
Now without the footrest
1:56 Itchy balls
You can clear that wall in a second with a good wall run
12 year old parkour kid could do this easy peasy
Like us haha
Before climbing wall:OH HELL NO. During climbing wall:(battle cry) After climbing wall:Oh that wasn't so bad, (sees another wall that's 20 ft high.) MOTHER FU-
How to climb a 10 foot wall: go around it.
I genuinely need to be able to get over a 9ft wall. I saw this video like yeah this should help.. He's got a fucking step a quarter way up so that now makes the wall about 6-7ft I can get over a 7ft wall.... Useless
I have trained parkour for almost a year, and I can easily do a 10 feet wall jump without a step on the wall
+Krister Saga pfft that's nothing I just press space twice to jump over the wall
haha, good one!
