My 4runner with the same 3.4 engine does the same thing. Has been doing it for probably 4 years and I haven’t had any problems. It’s got almost 300k on it now and still running fine.
You do realize steam is liquid to gas phase right ? This is condensation, the reverse of steam. When you try to correct people educate yourself first so you don't sound like a goofball.

I have a 96 with 324k and going great!
I got a 98 and it does the same thing also

Based on what i've read on t4r.org this is normal. Coolant and oil levels are good.
Did you still driving it ? Or was there a problem

My 2016 tacoma is doing this but its a lot thicker and bails out when the engines cold

Yup, turned out to be nothing. Engine still going strong at 256K
