I have bricked my Mini M8 s905x AMlogic box trying to update it, have unsuccesfully tried to restore it by SD card. I am now trying to use USB burning tool but keep getting a "Romcode/initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB Control setup error" message, whichever USB port I try on the puter. I have seen a youtube video that advises you can select the "force erase" option on USB burning tool, but I dont get this option on my app, it only lets me select "normal erase". Please can anyone advise me on this?
For those struggling with installing new firmware (program giving errors part way thru) it seems if you load the image, than click start and than plug in the box the errors tend to stop not always but it's normally my first go too when I get errors part way thru install and in all honesty I have no clue why this works but I've tried repeated times just getting the same error over and over but for some reason this seems to fix the issue on my end a good deal of the time.

If you're using Windows 10 and USB Burning Tool won't detect your device, try unchecking all of the "erase" boxes top right corner. Thanks for this video sometimes it's the simple things that drive you bonkers 👍
My pc was having problem's detecting my device with the "Erase boxes" checked in USB Burning Tool. I unchecked the "Erase flash" and "Erase bootloader" which is ALL of the "Erase boxes" and my pc detected my device which was a T95x Android Box. This method worked for me but may not work for you , its really trial and error that got me to that method for my specific android box. Good Luck!

Hi, I have a problem with the mxq pro 4k device, it looks like a chinese clone and is not original, The writing in front of it says "MXG PRO 4K" (not mxq) and the reset button is at the SPDIF input (not AV ). When I went open the USB BURNING TOOL program and I entered the IMG firmware (power on procedure, hold down the reset button, ..) at 2% with 7 seconds it stops with an error "0x10105004 romcode / Initialize DDR / Read initialized status / error result. Reading around on the internet to solve the problem I had to disable "erase flash" and "erase bootloader" and do 100%. It was successful (it doesn't seem). Now I am with red led light steady and does not go to blue led. What does this error "0x10105004 romcode / Initialize DDR / Read initialized status / error result" mean? usb wire too long? the firmware not suitable for the box? box chinese and cannot be restored. What firmware do you recommend me to do? does the jtag exist to solve the problem?

Ja tentei dar 1 reset pelo botão, mas abre tela H96 PRO+ se continuo apertando, fica tela escura e não mostra opções pra restaurar, formatar etc. Nesse caso, não é necessário o curto, pq o botão t´ativo, mesmo assim deu o curto, mas o PC NÃO RECONHECE o driver AnLogic e dá mensagem: " O Windows não pode verificar o editor desse software de driver", e por isso NÃO tô conseguindo flashar a rom e ou nem reparar . My guess is you need to install the drivers first ( using only the uSB cord- no power connection) open the amlogic tool Click on InstallDriver.exe (located in the WorldCup_Device folder)- then follow the easy setup- then go back and start the tool - DO press the start button ( after loading firmware) before you connect the USB from computer to your box - also hold down the reset button till you see the blue bar start across- 1% , 2% etc
Katarina Sorry about being so late . i just found this ( the way I get it to work is to hit the start button ( after you have loaded the img file) - before you connect the USB ( while holding in the reset button) - then after you see the progress bar show 1 or 2 percent, then release the “ reset button- hope this helps , again sorry about being so late with this. The IMG file is used when using amlogic burning tool? Burn card maker also uses these IMG files. Your thinking of the Android setup files used with something like TWRP.

it either a mixture of your windows system not having it with the version of burning tool, the IMG itself or simply try another version of burning tool

You can backup the firmware into a ZIP file using the inbuilt system updater on some boxes and other can backup using TWRP but if you want an IMG file for use with burning tool it's not so easy

I am trying to fix a h96 pro+ for a friend. It has a static looking problem on black scenes. Is this due to the firmware problem or is this some other possible fix. Certain colours look like there is a power flux when plugged into the TV. Any ideas?
MXQ PROJECT I just went and swapped it with the hdmi cable that runs my shield flawlessly, and it still does it. It looks like old fashioned snow from analog TV running through dark colored areas of the screen
I dont think it will be the firmware - Before messing around with the android firmware, you could dual boot KSZAQ's libreelec and play some video files with that and see what happens.

Hey good video, I want to try this usb burner tool with an older box as I have before with a newer box and worked fine, the problem is thow I cannot find the IMG file firmware anywhere for the Matricom gbox midnight mx2 box. It's almost like it doesn't exist or has been wiped off the internet, if anyone knows I'd greatly apriciate it.
Might need to search pretty deep into likes of freaktab for this firmware, matricom don't even have it listed anymore - Their is however latest Libreelec for this old box and few other developments

I tried using the software on my T95N android box and it's still giving me an error. The box is dead and I was trying to revive it. I even tried down grading and everything plus having the stock firmware too. DDR issue something like that. Is there any other solution???
I tried erasing the flash only without erasing the boot loader and it went through but killing the box as a consequence. When I tired it with both erasing the flash with bootloader and wasn't working that's before killing the box.
I also used the recent version including the older versions available. USB still connects and the program reads the connection but still no good results.

My guess is you need to install the drivers first ( using only the uSB cord- no power connection) open the amlogic tool Click on InstallDriver.exe (located in the WorldCup_Device folder)- then follow the easy setup- then go back and start the tool - DO press the start button ( after loading firmware) before you connect the USB from computer to your box - also hold down the reset button till you see the blue bar start across- 1% , 2% etc

Sorry about being so late . i just found this ( the way I get it to work is to hit the start button ( after you have loaded the img file) - before you connect the USB ( while holding in the reset button) - then after you see the progress bar show 1 or 2 percent, then release the “ reset button- hope this helps , again sorry about being so late with this.

I have a bricked MyGica ATV 495PRO HDR and MyGica only provides an img type firmware for SD Card flashing(not a zip file like most SD Card update firmware). Is there a way to convert this firmware to an AML firmware so I can use the Amlogic USB burning tool to flash it ?
The IMG file is used when using amlogic burning tool? Burn card maker also uses these IMG files. Your thinking of the Android setup files used with something like TWRP.

You can backup the firmware into a ZIP file using the inbuilt system updater on some boxes and other can backup using TWRP but if you want an IMG file for use with burning tool it's not so easy

I am trying to fix a h96 pro+ for a friend. It has a static looking problem on black scenes. Is this due to the firmware problem or is this some other possible fix. Certain colours look like there is a power flux when plugged into the TV. Any ideas?

MXQ PROJECT I just went and swapped it with the hdmi cable that runs my shield flawlessly, and it still does it. It looks like old fashioned snow from analog TV running through dark colored areas of the screen
I dont think it will be the firmware - Before messing around with the android firmware, you could dual boot KSZAQ's libreelec and play some video files with that and see what happens.

Hey good video, I want to try this usb burner tool with an older box as I have before with a newer box and worked fine, the problem is thow I cannot find the IMG file firmware anywhere for the Matricom gbox midnight mx2 box. It's almost like it doesn't exist or has been wiped off the internet, if anyone knows I'd greatly apriciate it.
Might need to search pretty deep into likes of freaktab for this firmware, matricom don't even have it listed anymore - Their is however latest Libreelec for this old box and few other developments

Am assuming it is a ZIP file, you can only use the recovery menu on the box to install that from a usb stick

Do u know if I could still install xbmc/kodi and google services? I tried using the software on my T95N android box and it's still giving me an error. The box is dead and I was trying to revive it. I even tried down grading and everything plus having the stock firmware too. DDR issue something like that. Is there any other solution???
I tried erasing the flash only without erasing the boot loader and it went through but killing the box as a consequence. When I tired it with both erasing the flash with bootloader and wasn't working that's before killing the box.
I also used the recent version including the older versions available. USB still connects and the program reads the connection but still no good results.
