great video, having started MTB 6 months ago and riding these trails on XC, it is brilliant watching what can be done by a more experienced rider! also that gimbal footage is smooth as
I was born locally.. not there now.. those moors I used to do grouse beating back in the sixties....the Moor is called pikestone last time i did it on trail bike must av a go on cycle.... thanks for trip doon memory lane... ..cheers from dave
Enjoy all your big mountain stuff, been adventuring up a few myself over the lakes but I'm desperate to get back into the Highlands next year for some big adventures.
Can't believe how much the "go-pro effect" flattens out K-line "or any other vid for that matter K-line is one hell-of-a roller coaster and those rollers and tabletops are not little !!!! but you hit them in style fella , cracking vid as usual :) :)
Dee Cox thanks Dee! Thought I’d try and I didn’t die so was well chuffed 😂Ach I’m sure we will have a chance to ride together next year and I look forward to it!! It’s a great jersey to rock 🤘🏻😝
@@lexie23385 keep it going Mrs! Your doing ace! Yes! I'll make sure that we definitely have a ride next year! And yes it is! Your now part of an epic club! 😂 🦄☠️
Really enjoyed this footage, it’s easier to watch than the chin mount, and you’re excellent at using the chinny, it’s just nice the way the horizon stays horizontal. Nothing wrong with the sound either, plus commentary is great as usual. All together another great video And 👍
Now this I really enjoyed because I've done some trails here. No idea what the score was spoke to the guy at the top car park, he said if I wasn't sure about an obstacle I'd be able to bypass it. Ha ha complete novice on a hardtail, I survived, met some great people and really enjoyed it. yes it was a great video and you seemed to be having plenty of fun.
@@McTrailRider After going from the main car park to the top, yes I pushed some. I came down a track of bumps and berms, I travelled across the route up on a logging track. Turned off that through trees down to a stream, the up from there stopped me. Met 2 guys there who took me right up to the top of the moors, The route back was flat out on gravel roads to a pylori. Tagged onto the back of about 30 people for the best bit of all. When I spilled out onto the car park Everyone was waiting and smiling, ( we had to wait for a few callers) . I think its my best day ever on a bike, for 58 on a hardtail I smiled all the way home. One other thing I found inspiring, people were doing the same as me on bikes you wouldn't take on a road. Keep the videos coming.
Love the look of the trails you rode. What were the names of them? Planning a trip with friends soon. Where is the access to the bridleway, also? cheers
Hey buddy been wat hing your videos for years one of the best for this type of content . Just come across tgis okder video do you think these sorts of trails are rideable on hardtail i have cannondale coja . Cheers
nice video..never being there gonna have to go on the list. Does the other Ebike that Alix has drop its chain as much ? it must be a right ball ache, especially when you get your shred on.. Whats happened to the Proframe lid.. I got one not so long ago, There definitely warmer than a basic lid, but bearable and a welcome now that the colder months have arrived.
im new to MTB riding. i went to hamsterley today with my friend and its the first time ive been there. really enjjoyed it. obviously slower than most people on the trails but ill get better. quick question though, you guys are obviously pretty good, why do you decide to wear open face helmets? i bought a full face , even though i know im new and i look like all the gear no idea kind of person but gennuinely interested why you guys who ride alot faster and more skilled decide to go with open faces? again not being sarcastic or trying to be funny just genuinely would want to know why the more experenced guys who are going quicker and therefore the risk is greater should it go wrong decide not to rock a full face?
As you become more experienced and gain confidence you'll probably find a full face helmet overkill for trail riding and switch to an open face as they are so much lighter and you breathe so much better.
@@McTrailRider ok cool. i saw alot of riders around hamsterly going pretty quick and rocking open faces. put i guess you are right, i just hope that in thr future when i am faster and beeter and i do crash its a full face day haha. love your videos man!

Rode hamsterley this past weekend - wish I could hit it that fast! Was knackered by the start of the trails!
It’s ask relative mate, just stick at it and you’ll get fitter and faster 👍
Fab runs
Liked the feature over the fallen tree
Spot on as usual

Ok, that’s me inspired, I’m heading there now for a quick hammer round on the Deec!
Awesome video riding over the moors. I'm heading that way in January. Looking forward to it
It’s a great wee place 👍
Nice to see you on my local trails 😁👍🏻 Transmission is shut for repairs and improvements at the moment, it was getting a bit ropey.
Hi do you know which trail is the last one cheers

Hamsterley is a great place. I recognised lots of those trails from this summer but clearly still lots to be found yet.
So, so much better with the gimbal Buddy... Thanks && keep up the great content ✌🏻🧒🏻
Great vid.. got real sense of speed and incline of berms with the chestie. Time to go for a ride...
I love hamsterly forest, great trails
Awsome. Still need to head over there. May have to make that my riding spot for next week.

Wow, that place looks ace, so fast and flowy, might have to visit this place en route to scotland when i eventually make the trip :)
You’re spoilt up there dude... awesome ride🤙
Woah. That looked like a lot of fun! 🤘
Extra points if you spotted the pheasant at 5:52
@@McTrailRider You went by rather quickly so that's not too surprising 😊
This looks awsome
Hope Greg took you both for some Nice Bait
Looks mint, carnt wait to go, but sounds like your bike creaks alot!
Yeah, the bike was a bit noisy on this day.
Living in the north east of England these are by far the best trails near me but alas i have no way to get there.

great, i live about 7 miles away from there :)
Ideal 👍
A Short Travel Stumpjumper would be ok for this terrain wouldn't it? The new one has 130mm
@@McTrailRider excellent. Thanks.
Another top vid mate! What’s the last two trails called I defo need to hit them.
The last two trails are called cheesyums and king of roots
Cheers chaps!
Have you sorted that creaking - what was the cause?
Next time your south of the border give thrunton wood a bash, trails are short but you won’t be disappointed
What's the trail called your on at 6.32 please 🙏?
Hey @mctrail rider , I know this an old vid but how did you find riding an ebike at hamsterly? I’m taking my sam2 there this weekend
I’d say the place is pretty good for the ebike 👍
@@McTrailRider awesome thanks mate
Where is this? I can never find it
How old is that footage ?, as last time I was there k line was damaged from heavy rain, looks like they have done some resurfacing work
The Penetrator it was about 3 weeks ago mate
What tracks were you on
Loads, but I’m not overly sure of them all as this isn’t a place I’ve ridden often.
What bike are you riding? Seems to handle anything you through at it. Apart from the chain anyway
Is all that the black trail or a mix of the red and black?
A bit of everything really, quite a bit of off piste with trail centre reds thrown in.
Thanks for replying. We'll have to plan a route when we are allowed to travel. It looks like one of the best trail centres in England. Awesome video 👍
Was that the Hero 7 Andrew ?
It coped very well tbh
Go and ride in edale in the peak District, in lady bower woods
@@McTrailRider is Scottish riding way below the border
@@guypaterson9503 Another vote for a Peaks video, its a fair drive for you but there is some great riding to be had around The Peaks and Sheffield.
U should go to Leeds urban bike park

Do you have a Strava link or something for this ride ?
McTrail Rider ah that’s a shame I’ve ridden hamsterly a few times but not the first trail you did
I'm a local and the climbs ain't easy
No climb is easy, but I’d say that Hamsterley isn’t as hard as most. Fantastic trails though👍

I do apologies, I’m transitioning my Strava over to Patrons and friends only to try and protect some of the trails I visit a bit more.
